ARREST WARRANT ISSUED FOR BOBBY BROWN
An arrest warrant has been issued for singer Bobby Brown after he failed to appear in court for a child support hearing on August 14, 2009. Brown is reportedly $45,000 behind in child support payments for the two teenage children he had with former girlfriend Kim Ward; he is supposed to pay $5,500/month for his son Bobby Jr.,17, and daughter Laprincia,19.
Brown, who is a native of Boston, will be arrested the minute he steps foot in Massachusetts per Judge Christina Harms’ order.
According to The Boston Herald, Bobby was scheduled to appear before Judge Harms on June 29 ,but never showed up for the appointment.
In June, Brown welcomed his fifth child with his longtime girlfriend Alicia Etheridge. He also has a 16 year-old daughter , Bobbi Kristina, with singer Whitney Houston , and an older son from a previous relationship named Landon Brown.
I didnt know he had an older son name Landon Brown….He better pay that child support….lol
Landon was on MTV’s “Rock the Cradle.” He doesn’t have his fathers talent IMO.
What a shame! I find it a disgrace for one to make a child and not support it! I am sure everyday he takes a fork to his mouth so how can he not be concerned about his children doing the same!
19 is a bit old to be getting child support? I had my parents remove me from their taxes at 17 to get a better financial aid package for college (I was very independent minded).
It could be back child support for the 19 year old. My friend is 28 and her mom still gets payments because her dad recently got his act together and got a real job so now she gets what was owed to her when the children were growing up.
Child Support varies from state to state. In some states, that means age 18; in others, age 21, or beyond. It says that he’s behind so he obviously hasn’t been paying for a while now…….

If the 19 year old is in college he may be ordered to pay until she is 21 depending on state laws. My dad had to pay for that long.

No in some states like stated, if the child is in college the parent still is responsible for supporting them, I think the cut off age is 24? Also if he is back he could end up paying until the child is getting Social Security.

Yo, all black people should be experts on child support by now. We been in the game how long? We should have this area cornered all ready. I mean, before real. If you throw a rock rathomly you’ll hit a brother owing, having it garnished or paying child support. That’s just how we roll these days. Once and a while you’ll run across a married black man with his children under his roof and no other woman can claim she has his child. But that brother is very rare.

Since they are no longer married, why would she lend him money to pay for his other children. He’s probably not paying her anything for the one he has with her. And to tell you the truth, it would be worth the non payment to be rid of him. Noone wants him around.

Dude, Bobby is broke. Stop it. Like, those kids are too old for them to harass about child support. Ok, it seems he’s about a 8 months behind, but still… He’s always almost jailed for these kids, and then Whitney usually swoops in to make the payment, so he’s not entirely a deadbeat or he’d owe more. I think at this point the mom should let it ride. The kids are old.

A child is NEVER too old to need FOOD or CLOTHES. All these years this woman has been supporting these child by herself with him paying here and there and it isn’t right. Those are his kids too and he has financial obligations to do his share.
LaPrincia is in college now and that is NOT cheap, I don’t know if she gets financial aid or not, but if she doesn’t, her mother is paying for her college expenses and all that goes with living on her on. She shouldn’t have to struggle or barely make it when her childs father is able-bodied and more than capable to get a damn job and pay to her help her.
Hell if Bobby can afford Ed Hardy he can afford to help do something toward his childrens well being!

My cousin is 26 years old and the State is going after her father. She could careless about him or his money, but because he didn’t pay her mother a dime during her childhood, he has gone to jail 3 times over the past 5 years. And I hear they are threatening to send him to jail again. And all because the man refuses to get a J-O-B and pay some bills.
The government is TIRED of DEADBEAT FATHERS.

Anyway, I think I understand why a lot of boys (not men) feel as though they are not responsible for their children. From what I hear from bloggers and some men in general is that they believe women are responsible for getting pregnant. They feel that since she’s the one with more birth control at her disposal, and she’s the one that gets pregnant, she has more to lose/gain so she should be more careful. He’s just a willing party. These morons really believe she’s solely responsible for getting pregnant. Yes, I know that sounds insane and it IS insane, but I have literally heard boys say this. They actually believe that b.s.! Unbelievable? Hayell yes! In their “minds,” boys will be boys and they are just sexual. They fail to realize that whether a child is wanted or not, it takes two to tango. They don’t realize that they, too, have a responsibility to wrap it up and that when they engage in sexual activity, they are basically consenting to a possible pregnancy that might occur, and that they have to pay the cost for the child when it’s here. It’s absolutely insane that they could even remotely believe that, but sadly, some do.

He is paying 5000 a month in child support. When was the last time he had a hit. If they lowred the amount he would probably beable to make his payments. I remember last time it was 60,000 and he was in tears begging not to go to jail.

I am not defending Bobby, but why is his child support payments so high. He do not had a career nor is he still marry to Whitney. He will always be wanted on child support as long as they keep they payments high like he is still working, hell even on a regular job he could not afford this type of payments. If you calculate what he owes…it is only 8 months behind. Do the mother work?
Yea the mother works.. but his child support payments at one time were way higher than that. When him and Whitney divorced it was his responsibility to request a review and since he didn’t he now has to pay that money. It’s his own stupidity, if you know you don’t have the money to pay you would be on top of that..but then again he is a drug addict so nevermind he smoked away whatever common sense he had left.
The $5500/month he gotta pay was prob an order from a while back when he was makin the dough,but he prob need to go back to court and ask for an amendment and be like “JUDGE I’M ALL CRACKED OUT,MY MONEY TRAIN HAS DIVORCED ME AND I’M JUST A$$ED OUT,I AINT GOT NOOOOOO ENDS” Then maybe they can amend the order based on his earnings today. The prob won’t effect what he is behind just can adjust any future payments.

My guess is the payments will be amended. Bobby does not have access that those kinds of funds. Garnish his future checks because having Bobby jailed doesn’t get the bills paid. He is just a pathetic case!

WOW! It’s amazing how many guys that make all this money refuse to pay child support. I found out this guy I dated in high school - Mike Hill- ESPN News - is a deadbeat dad. I hear he’s behind in his child support and hardly anybody even knows he has an older daughter or that he was even married before. What a LOSER! Glad he wasn’t part of my future.
