Reality star Antonia “Toya” Carter and her daughter Reginae Carter,10, attended the the World Famous Bronner Bros. International Hair Show over the weekend in Atlanta. The event attracted thousands of hair professionals and entertainers, including singer Tameka “Tiny” Cottle . Tiny’s singing group,the OMG girls, were also in attendance for the event.

Why are they so intent on pushing these girls into show business? there certainly must be other things suitable for girls this age that doesn’t have to do with show business. Being financially stable as they are, you would think that they would want to spend time helping the girls explore life by traveling, getting involved in the commmunity or things like that.
Khrish I don’t think Tiny’s intentions are bad since her own daughter will be apart of the group. She stated that there aren’t any girl groups let along young and black so I kind of want to see where she takes them. I agree with you about other things like volunteering etc.. but maybe they expressed their interest in music to her. I’m thanful that they aren’t overly dressed and looking well beyond their years like 3LW and they aren’t singing inappropriate songs.

Even adult entertainers say that sometimes the music industry can be overwhelming. They mention how sometimes they’d like to live their previous lives, if they weren’t born into it.
Constantly being worried about your physical appearance isn’t the best thing for a young girl.
Exactly! Toya and Wayne’s daughter doesn’t even want to be an entertainer! She wants to be a pediatrician. It’s all the mothers. Instead of reviving their own careers or developing the talent of young ladies who do want to be entertainers, they are pushing their girls out there.
OMG, if one of their daughters wants to be a pediatrician, that’s a BEAUTIFUL thing!
Entertaining and basing your career solidly on what others think will not help with these little girls’ esteem.
Taking care of others will be so rewarding! =]
I dont know where you heard that from because Reginae said she wanted to a entertainer (rapper to be exact) like her dad!

Maybe you got the wrong impression. I am saying that this is something that girls usually work really hard at to make it to a better life. These children already have a better life than most little girls their age,Financially, because their parents have been successful and therefore have the money to allow them to experience other things. From what I saw on the show, this was Tiny’s idea. Most parents usually want their children to move beyond what they did and if they really are interested in this, maybe they can come back after university and do it. I was impressed that LiL Wayne’s daughter was interested in medicine and I would encourage her by letting her see and possibly be involved in things that nurture that desire. She might change her mind, but at least should could get a peek into medicine. They could always sing as a hobby. At this age, it’s pretty much up to the parent to guide the children in the way, not be guided by the children. I am certainly not hating on the children and neither does it seem that the others posters are. Obviously you have read our comments the wrong way.
I agree with you Khrish. Ti’s daughter is not a participant. It is obvious that he wants his daughter to explore other avenues to success.He lets her take all sort of acting, dance lesson, whatever she expresses an interest in, but it is to make all opportunities accessible to her not limit her to the entertainment industry.
I agree but that would be “too much like right”. It’s sad but people are really ignorant when it comes to exposing their children to the right things. Culture, different types of food and music, literature etc. It just doesn’t happen as much in some minority communities. All that money and still a limited mentality.

I wouldn’t wish the entertainment business on a child period, but hopefully their mothers will keep them grounded and protect them from the wolves out there. They are so young. At that age, I was playing with dolls. Anyway, this is the way girls their age should dress. Looking good.
Reginae is such a pretty child. All these girls are very cute. I hope they stay young and innocent for a very long time.

OMG, you people are being so judgemental! Everybody is entitled to mistakes. I was always told that the first is a mistake, then when the second one comes along, it is not a mistake. Toya has learned her lesson, she is a beautiful girl. To bad, she and Lil Wayne could not stay together. A lot of times we let our life style change us. He should have been mature enough to focus and stay with his family. But, that is water under the bridge. Toya, hopefully will move on and find love.
Raginae is a beutiful little girl, she looks like he mom and dad. Whoever said, “she looks older than her mom”, should be ashamed. That is a child and we should watch our comments. Raginae may read your comments. No one wants their child hurt.

Ive been in Atlanta for four years now. I started my tv show when I moved here. I remember meeting Tiny’s daughter when I first moved here. She was in a theatre/dance class a long time ago. She always wanted to be on stage. I cant speak on Toya’s lil girl Reginae too much but when I talked to her on Saturday, she was the sweetest lil girl you could ever want to meet! I was waiting to see if she was going to sound spoiled or snobby but nope, she was so sweet and shy! Believe it or not she can sing too, for her age she sounds very nice, she said yes mam and Ms. Tami my dad is so proud of me and he is going to write us some songs too! She was too excited about omg girls group. Lets wait it out and see what develops.So far I think the young ladies Tiny and Toya are doing great with the girls. Ok I said my peace lol.

Well that is her mother and regardless what we think, I’m sure she loves her and hopes that she can help her. It’s the same thing that Keisha Cole is trying to do with her mother. You think that if you can make life better for them they can do better. I ceratinly can’t see anything wrong with that. I watched their show last night because there was nothing else on and I see Toya wanting to move to a different stage which is good to see anyone wanting to advance themselves. I just wonder why someone doesn’t give her more assistance with her dress. Their clothing is so tight that it takes away the beauty of them. It seems that they are going out to night clubs instead of business interviews and all those tattoos. I thought he breast were going up into her mouth. It just makes her look sleezy. Maybe she can find a personal shopper who can select a more appropriate wardrobe to help her with her image. I am impressed that she wants to improve herself. That is a plus for her daughter as well.

I have TATTOOS so what does that say about me? Too each its own with how they celebrate their independence. Tattoos are alot of ppls way of making a statement whether you agree with them or not. I see alot of negative comments about ppl with tattoos but again it is FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION…JMO.
Looking back at some of Toya’s pics the only thing tight are her jeans. I wear my jeans like that…like everyone else. Khrish is there something personal about Toya you don’t like? You normally post really nice comments. I’m not feeling it this time.
Jannieboo what kind of comment is that? Toya desires a relationship with her mother and there is nothing wrong with that. Whatever her circumstances where for getting pregnant is her business. She has stated many many times that she didn’t have anyone there for her and when Wayne came along he was the first to show her love. IF alot of these absentee parents validated their children when at home I don’t think we would have such a high rate of teen pregnancy. I applaude her for abilities. She now only completed high school but went on to complete nursing school so she is showing her daughter something. Everyone makes mistakes but the lession is what you LEARN from the mistake you make. She gets a pat on her back for 2 reasons..1. she finshed school AND graduated and 2. Reginae is her ONLY child. ENOUGH SAID! Your statement was just shear IGNORANT but to each its own..JMHO!
@ Khrish…what’s wrong with her clothes? She dresses very nice. Little Kim is TRASHY. I love Toya’s style. She is BEAUTIFUL!
I didn’t say she looked trashy, she is a very attractive young lady. Although her clothes were nice, They were far too tight. The lady who helped her put together a wardrobe should have suggested 1 size larger and a more conservative blouse in a not so shocking color. In the business world her clothes should fit but not appear to be pasted on her person. When she was in the meeting the blouse she wore was far too tight it made her breast look like they were trying to explode. the look just wasn’t professional. The outfit just didn’t fit the lifestyle she is seeking. I hope I explained without seeming to put her down as that is not my intent. I am impressed at the fact that this woman who has really been through so much in her life, has the desire and the push to rise above all that to create a better life for herself and her daughter.
I got you! However, she is still learning. Phaedra is the professional and her outfit was not any better but I can understand what you are saying. Changes are hard when you aren’t taught certain things. I’m hoping as time passes you’ll see the maturity in Toya progress and with that she’ll see that she doesn’t need to wear “tight” or revealing clothes to make a statement.

Like I said. I am impressed with her desire to improve herself. As a matter of fact, I was shocked when I watched the show and heard her express her ideal for her life. Especially when she picked up her daughter from school and she was telling her about writing. It’s something they don’t show us a lot. They seem, especially BET to play up only the negative side of those who have attained money and this young lady seems to have it going on. I didn’t know all the stuff about her until reading things on this site. You go Toya. Make that dream happen. God bless you.

The Omg girls are cutie pies.. Do I think they should be in a group singing and performing and about to experience heartaches from the entertainment business.. No! Tiny, Tameka ,Kisha, and Kandy branched out and lived after their group, because they are talented people. But I think if its for the young ladys it will happen I just think their too young, I could see people commenting about there body types, their hair, their skin colors, their eyebrows hurting and tearing these lil mommas to pieces because that’s what happens when your’re in the business..

I thynk ts good that Tiny and Toya are teaching their girls and other girls a positive way 2 make their own money. And i love the support system that tiny and toya have for eachother and fam!!! LOVE YU ALL!
