YARA SHAHIDI IS A STAR ON THE RISE
Child actress Yara Shahidi attended the Los Angeles premiere of “Shorts” on August 15, 2009 in Hollywood, California.
Meanwhile, the rising star has two movies “Unthinkable” and “Salt” with Angelina Jolie, due out next year. The soon-to-be fifth grader also has a recurring role on new television sitcom, In The Motherhood, which airs on ABC.

Wow. Not to pick on your comment, but people really act or say things with an opinion already formed, regardless of what facts there are to substantiate it.
There was a heated discussion on another post, when people called this little girl gorgeous or beautiful. Some folks presumed that people only thought she wsa beautiful because she was “mixed.”
And now we hear it from the other side, I guess you did not know she was mixed.
Back to the post at hand.
I always love the way Yara has her hair. I love that her parents keep it natural. I hope to see Heidi & Seal take a clue, and not leave the soon-to-be-born baby girl looking ragged and unkempt.

Yara and her brother are cute and she is real mature for her age.I can’t beleive she don’t have her hands on her hips she usually does when she’s on the red carpet. I’ve never seen a little girl with such an long dress on. It’s a pretty dress but the dress looks like it should be worn by someone a little older. How old is Yara and her brother? Do they speak Persian? I hope so.

I once met a man who was middle eastern and he was writing something and I’d asked him what was he writing in and he said “Persian”. “It’s my mother’s first language”. So it’s nice that Yara and her brother can speak some Persian even if they don’t know the entire language.

They both speak and write fluent Farsi, which is the language of persian people. Just as american’s don’t speak american, we speak english.

i love yara. she is the cutest model out their. she speak farsi a little. she also has a baby brother who is the cutest thing ever. she is very mature for her age. she’s smart and she spends most of her time doing science experiment with her dad and going to museum. i know her career will go far.

Love her natural hair! This style would be easy for a lot of moms to create on their little girls instead of putting harsh relaxer chemicals on their beautiful hair. We need to celebrate more natural hair on little girls especially in the black community instead of always trying to put fake ponytails and weaves into our girls’ hair because it is so damaged. If I see another five year old with brittle, broken off, short hair because of the relaxer I am going to scream!

Yara’s mom, Keri resembles the model Tamiko Fraser. Keri was in the McDonalds commercial with Yara a few years ago, a Botox ad, a Walmart commercial with Sayeed (he was riding a bike), a Campbells soup commercial/ad with both of them, and a Tropicana print ad with both of them that was in Ebony. I saw her recently in my Sunday newspaper coupons for P&G.
