Why is he not spending time with Mercy? Isn’t she his child too? Or did he not adopt her?
I’m guessing that little Mercy does’nt have a legal father…thats a shame being that all of Madonna’s other children have legal fathers and Mercy lives in the same household as her brothers and sister.
Makes me wonder if Madonna thought about this kind of situation BEFORE she insited on adopting Mercy?
Mercy may someday want some “daddy time” too but will there be any daddy for her to spend such time with?
I feel sad that this child may be left out of the “daddy loop”.
Madonna adopted Mercy after their split. Mercy probably knows Jesus Luz better than Guy. Madonna’s eldest daughter, Lourdes Leon is not really part of the custody arrangement either.
SweetDiva, Lourdes has a father (Carlos Leon) who seems to be very active in her life.
Mercy is the only child of the 4 with no father.

It’s about time he saw those children. The man seems to not really care as much as he waits until his ex takes them back to London. Is this another girlfriend Mr Ritchie has? What about the dark haired woman he dated just last week who is nearly Jesus’s age? It would be nice if he saw Lourdes too since that was his stepdaughter for many years and now he never takes her out with him.
Not trying to sound harsh, but it’s not a step parents responsibility to care of his/her step child after the marriage is done. I think it would be one thing if Guy was the only father that Lourdes ever knew, but that isn’t the case. Lourdes has a father of her own whom she seems to adore.
Not to mention the fact that we don’t know if Madonna would even allow Lourdes to be with Guy or if she even wants to go with him. Do you feel like he should take Mercy too?
I don’t think Guy has any obligations with Mercy. It would be nice if he invited her to hang out with David, though he’s not obligated nor do I expect him to. Madonna did try to adopt her for years (while she was married to Guy) and I believe he was against both adoptions, but agreed to David’s once he met him.
Although legally Guy has no responsibility to Lourdes, from an emotional stance he does. Lourdes called him “dad” since she was 3 years old and she’s about to turn 13, that’s nearly 10 years of him being her father. She is close to Mr. Leon, but that doesn’t mean she can’t have a relationship with Mr. Ritchie as well since he was an integral part of her life for so long.
I really doubt Madonna would forbid any relationship between him and Lourdes, why should she if they’ve had one for nearly a decade? Mr. Ritchie is around Madonna’s daughters every time they attend their church or when he goes to pick up the boys, it’s not like she is keeping them away from him. I hope it’s that Lourdes doesn’t want to go rather than Mr. Ritchie is not inviting her, otherwise I would feel for that poor child.
If we want to talk about a real stand up guy, that would be Mr. Leon who would always take out Rocco, even though he was not his son. Whenever he would take out his daughter Lourdes, he would include Rocco as well. He would also buy them both things and visit both of them. That’s a real classy man there.
