Thank you to BCK for showing this magnificent picture of a powerful adoptive Dad and a caring Mom who has raised a son to be a Yale student! This is not about the races involved in this family, the focus is on commitment and dedication in a family to raise and develop productive children whether they are biologically yours or not.
I love this! Theo is a living tribute to his Dad, Steven Spielberg. And it was all done under the radar without a lot of media fan fare like Madonna and Angelina.

Was Spielberg’s son an overseas adoption? I thought you didn’t want to see this kind of interracial adoption. Why is this one alright but you would rather see other children eat gruel 3x per day than be adopted by whites? I need to know the difference for your blessings towards this adoption and the other. No arguement just your reason.

Fair question, Khrish, and I had anticipated that you would ask it of me. Theo was initially adopted when Kate Capshaw was married to her first husband. Steven adopted him legally after he married Kate, which is a sign of true love in my opinion.
I feel great about Theo’s adoption by the Spielberg’s because he’s an African American who as a younger child needed a family to adopt him.
He was a little disadvantaged American who needed a loving family.
My point is, only, that people of means (like Madonna and Angelina) don’t have to go across the world to help a baby, we have them right here in our own backyard. My beliefe is, take care of home first. The Spielbergs and Theo were born American, so invest in our own country first whenever possible. That’s how the we stimulate the economy.
And look, everyone is a winner in this case. Theo got a good family and the economy is stimulated by Spielberg investing his money in an American university, Yale (which is not cheap) that his adopted American son will benefit from and hopefully he will give back to his community/country in some way through his education at an IVY league school.

Thank you, jannieboo! This young man’s father is someone that Brad, Angelina, Madonna, Halle and others would love to do a movie or any project with. Even Michael Jackson worked with Spielberg in the 1980′s. He’s worth more than any of them!
Yet, there are not 300 posts under this picture because the adopted child is not bi-racial or considered “cute” in some people’s opinion. He’s just an African American that was adopted by Whites.
If for no other reason, there should be thousands of congratulations for Theo going to Yale and not being known for being arrested for drugs or non child support payments!

Why would someone even thing about him going to jail or doing drugs? Those are abnormal things. He is suppose to be smart, he is supposed to continue his education. Why does he need to be congratulated for doing what he is supposed to do. He been given every advantage in life so he is supposed to use them to better himself. That’s wonderful, but it is something that all people expect of you, given his circumstances. I guess I’m just one of those who have high expectations of young people.

Jannieboo, why must he be biracial to be “cute as ever”? This is a black young man making great strides and the only thing you can think to comment on are his looks “if he were biracial”? This is why young black kids are growing up feeling less than and unattractive…because black adults are perpetuating the idea that being biracial or multiracial is “better than” or “more attractive”.

I believe that jannieboo was being sarcastic, while drawing attention to the sad fact that biracial children do seem to get more adoring comments than those who appear full Black. I think she was particularly irked by one of the above comments that said he ‘looked weird’.

Lisa clearly you are someone who needs to “get over yourself” because biracial children are not better looking period. There are plenty of examples, but I will give you one obvious one to help you reassess your thinking. Rain Pryor is biracial and as both a child and an adult, she was not nor is she now better looking than hardly any of the black actresses out there, like Gabrielle Union, for instance. You can find pics of both actresses as children in a google search if need be.
This is coming from someone who has a beautiful biracial child that people actually stop me on the streets to tell me how gorgeous my kid is and how she should be modeling or on tv, but I would never deny the fact that there are other black children that are just as/or more beautiful than my own little one.

If you will notice on all the reports that Jannieboo has posts, she is consumed with skin color and hair. She meant exactly what she said and if you review her other posts you will see what I’m talking about. There are many websites out there where she could post if her only concerns are these two things. She become quite annoying with that same stuff all the time.
