JOURDAN DUNN EMBRACES HER PREGNANCY CURVES

British model Jourdan Dunn, who is now five-and-a-half months pregnant, feels more comfortable in her body now than ever before. Pregnancy, it appears, has boosted Jourdan’s self-esteem as well as added curves to her “skinny” body.
“I’m starting to feel more secure in who I am now. Being from an Afro-Caribbean family, being black, skinny, isn’t really acceptable in that community; it’s all about having curves and stuff,” Dunn tells British fashion magazine I-D.
“That’s why I’ve never been comfortable with my body until now, when I realize I can say this is who I am, I’m healthy, I’ve always liked to eat, and I’m now happy enough in my own skin to not give a f@#$ what anyone says about me any more. Growing up, being told I was skinny, felt like teasing. Everyone was always telling me about being a model, and it used to really piss me off. Then I got scouted. It might seem like I got big jobs right away, but I can still remember going on the Storm website and seeing these other girls’ amazing editorial work next to my same old test shot and Polaroids. Back then, I wondered if I would ever get a job.”
Jourdan and her boyfriend of three years are expecting a baby boy this December.

Well one if she is back skinny don’t forget she was skinny to start off with. When I had my kids I gain 30 pounds and after having them I the pounds just drop off me. So she maybe cant help it if she does lose all the weight. And thats a rude remark.

what are u her mum… i never asked u for your life story..i was making a point seeing as shes a model and the industry dont like curves so she’ll drop the weight and therefore be skinny again…

I’ve always been skinny, but I gained over 30 pounds during my pregnancy. I thought I would give birth and then get my Beyonce on, but nah lol lost all of it and i’m back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I guess some women wouldn’t complain.

There is nothing wrong with being skinny! It used to be very fun wearing a size zero–it’d be good to get it over with and go back down the 3 sizes! Most people who tease skinny people would secretly rather be that way themselves, anyway, so go girl. I hope you lose every ounce again once he’s born!

I am a size 3/4 and most of the ppl that say I’m skinny are also the same ones that say I wish I was your size in the next breath… They wish they had my small waist, abs, and naturally muscular tone and usually these are the same women hating… They few friends of mine that do usually make jokes in the store because my size is always on the rack or certain clothes look better on me.
Every woman in every size is beautiful. It’s up to each woman to see the beauty in herself and define her own beauty and even find the beauty in her “flaws”.

Tynk, I agree. I don’t know what makes people think it’s okay to make rude remarks about someone being small. Let someone tell a thick chick to stop eating and then it’s a problem. I never TRIED to be my size, I JUST WAS and I liked it.
( I say “was” b/c I just had twins and all the baby eight hasn’t burned off yet.)

Well, some of u ladies are the wrost. I have always been thin with alot of curves. Neva been skinny… BIG difference… But the women in my family are thick… idk were i got the thin side from..my dad side kinda thick too… but anyway… I wear a size 3/4… and look damn good in all my clothes. but a extra 10 lbs would look great too… its all how you feel about ur body,,,.. all the thin jokes let me know who really like my size…
