I know celebrities enjoy getting creative with their children’s names, but what male wants to go through life with the name Sparrow. Especially when he’s a little boy.

i dont know whats up with the name but i guess. some of these celebs think their kids are not going to go to school, they will be rich forever and their kid wont need a regular job. think about the child before you name them

Harlow and Sparrow….cute. But the ‘Midnight’ in Sparrows name so unnecessary And I noticed Harlow has the Richie in her name but Sparrow doesn’t and are 3 to 4 names in addition to the surname really necessary? NO!

Honestly nothing shocks me with names anymore. I really doubt that Sparrow (man that doesn’t feel right typing for a name lol) will be the only one with an unusual name when he starts school. Girls today are named Mason, James, Spencer, and even Pierre. I’ve seen Breckin, Breckly, Blakely, Gray, Ka-dasha (pronounced kuh-dah-uh) etc. so he has nothing to worry about. I even met a boy (well man) today named “Neon.”

I love his name. When and if I have a son one day his name is going to be special like my daughter who has two middle names like my mother. Its nice to have a name everyone doesnt have if I hear one more person with the name Jalen I think I am going to throw up!!

    • Tynk September 10, 2009 at 7:13 pm

I agree about the name Jalen (Jaylen, Jailen etc). If I ever hear the names Jaylen, Jada, Jayden, Kayden, Taylen, Tayden or a close version to it I swear I’ll scream… The Niya’s, Riya’s and Naya’s are annoying also!

      Now I know how my teachers felt with my generation of Rita’s, Nita’s, Tika’s, Kita’s, Quita’s, Niqua’s, Wanda’s, Landa’s, Shawnda’s, Kesha’s, Tesha’s,Esha’s, Lika’s, Shika’s, Nika’s and Mika’s…

Oh I almost forgot about the Shavon’s, ShaRon’s, Shavelle’s and Sherelle’s lol… Im not gonna even start on naming the kids after cars and foreign countries they’ll probably never visit or be able to buy SMDH… I dont understand when there are baby books out there with over 100,000 names in them and ppl come up with one that’s not in that book! How the hell you do that??? That’s creativity!

    @ebony
maybe they dont wanna name their kids that. i already know 2 mikaelas, a few justins, alot of alexis, and i hate the name madison! everyone’s tryin 2 be unique and get away from all the common names. Plus, its refreshing to meet someone who has a name that stands out.

    Flag this

    • Blue September 11, 2009 at 7:30 am

Did you know that Madison is actually a boys name…or was. Then people decided to name their daughters Madison and now it’s a unisex name (though IMO it’s still a boys name as it means son of Maude or Matthew). I’m sure that the same thing will happen with these “unique names.” More and more people will start naming their children them and it will become normal.

At least no one ever refers to this Mom as a “Baby Mama” or this Dad as “Baby Daddy” even though they’re not married, either.

There’s that double standard again, for whatever reason. These two get a pass, somehow.

And people discussed Whitney getting over her crack addiction when she was posted with Bobbi Kristina last week, no one brings up this Mom’s previous heroin addiction.

Hmmmm… I’m just making an observation.

Hmmm, very interesting observation Pisces. I agree with you, wonder why some of these folk are so hypocritical.

Hi, Zee and thank you for reminding me of that word hypocritical. It is descriptive of how some people view the celebrities featured.

but didn’t she say she was going to name her son after Michael Jackson?mmmmm .

Nicole often seemed as if she were the smarter of herself and Paris on ”The Simple Life.” I believe that sparrow can be given to a boy or girl since it is only a bird, and birds by any name are male or female. She should just name her son, Joel after his father.
