KEKE PALMER GOES FROM SIXTEEN TO SEVENTEEN(VIDEO INSIDE)
In less than a few years, actress Keke Palmer,16, has proven to be a triple threat. She recently signed a new multi-album recording contract with music industry powerhouse Interscope records; she has a popular Nickelodeon series, True Jackson: VP, which has been picked up for a second season; and she has a teen/tween Fashion line, Mad Style. Seventeen magazine got a chance to talk to the young star about her latest venture, clothing line MadStyle by True Jackson VP.
On her favorite thing from Mad Style:
My favorite thing, I’d have to say, is the little pink shirts with the quotes on them. Everything is very nice, but I love them because they send a good message like be true to who you are and stay true to yourself, be true. It’s really cute. I love that.
On her personal style:
It’s very different from True Jackson’s. She’s more preppy, like Armani Exchange and the more preppy side of Marc Jacobs.
On who her style icons are:
Some of my favorite style icons are Kate Moss and Rihanna, except I’m a little bit younger. I put a little bit more teenage into it.
On working on a new album:
I’m writing, recording. I’m so excited because Interscope is a really good label and they do their artists very well. So being a part of their company is just a dream come true. I also just had a movie that came out called Shrink with Robin Williams and Kevin Spacey. It’s an intense drama. People that have seen it luckily we have been getting a lot of good words, so I am excited about that.
On which she prefers, singing or acting?:
This is hard to answer. I probably have to say…I can’t pick. Singing was my first passion. Whenever I sing, I’m always so happy. And if I had to choose, it would probably be singing, because we get to do acting as well. We get to act, dance and sing all at once.
Check out Keke Palmer in the October issue of Seventeen!

“luckily we have been getting a lot of good words”. Role model not…get an education!

Get a life. Clearly that sentence was written incorrectly because she interrupted herself mid-sentence to form a new thought. It’s called “prose,” which is when someone talks like they would in a conversation instead of structured. Try it. It should have been written: “People that have seen it – luckily, we have been getting a lot of good words, so I am excited about that.”

KeKe was signed to atlantic records ( http://www.atlanticrecords/com/kekepalmer )& that cd “So Uncool” came out in 2007. It didnt do well, & it had songwriter Toby Gad
( who wrote songs 4 BC Jean, Veronicas, Fergie, Beyonce, Donna Summer,Jojo,Jordin Sparks)
so u know Atlantic took a big financial loss on that cd.
What makes her think her cds with interscope will do better?
AfrAm dont look good in bright red lipstick. So pls KK dont di it again.

Why should she not think her album will do well just because the first one didn’t? Atlantic Records did not promote Keke’s CD, no one knew it was out, that’s why it didn’t sale. Her album was really good. Plus, Keke has a much bigger following now than she did in 2007, so there’s a chance that this album will do better.

Oops. That should be sell. Lol.

Black Folks should never wear Red Lipstick especially the shade she has on…uuhh…Not a good look…but I still love u KeKe

Now that Keke has her own show on Nickelodeon she commands a larger platform with greater access to teen/kid markets. I’d be surprised if that didn’t translate to better album sales.

black women (no matter what skin tone) look awesome in red lipstick, it just depends on matching what shade of red with what skin tone. and if you want to attack children, go elsewhere, this is not the place or the space.
