BOBBI KRISTINA WANTS TO FOLLOW IN HER MOM’S FOOTSTEPS

Thursday, Sep 17 , 2009 8:45:am by admin FILED UNDER Whitney Houston,Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown

bobbiWhile on the Oprah show with her mom Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina,16, revealed that she would like to follow in her mother’s(and father’s) footsteps by becoming a singer.

“I know she hates it, but it’s the plan,” Bobbi Kristina said of wanting to become a singer. “It’s my plan. Mine. Yeah.”

Though she may not like the idea of her daughter wanting to pursue a career in singing, Whitney is more than happy to groom Bobbi Kristina’s talents.

“She writes creatively all the time. She writes. And she sings. She’s really starting to sing really well now,” Whitney said of her daughter. “I want her to take her time. I don’t want anybody to touch her. I want to groom her.”

It seems that Whitney and Bobbi Kristina are very protective of each other. In fact, it was Bobbi Kristina who finally convinced her mom to leave her tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown.

“she said, ‘Oh no, no, divorce him, just let him go. Let him go. I see how you are. You stay here with me. You love me. You take me to school. You do things with me. You don’t disappoint me. You don’t lie to me. You’re there for me. He tells me he’s coming, and he never comes. He tells me he’s going to give me things, he never brings them. You don’t deserve that, and neither do I,” Whitney spoke of her daughter’s encouraging words.

When asked how proud she is of her mother’s return from drugs and a turbulent marriage, Bobbi Kristina confessed, “Honestly, words can’t explain how proud I am of her, really. I’ve been there with her through everything and the whole divorce and talking and whatever, but you know, I stayed by her side. That’s like my best friend you know, that’s like my sister.”

I beg to differ Britany Spear and Rihanna both have successful careers…have you heard either of them sing? Not the worst but not the greatest either.

What’s wrong with the child’s gap?

Bobby Kristina is a perfect blend of her parents…I hope she finds the success she desires without having to endure the pain and temptation her mother and father have faced.

The older she gets the more she looks like her mother. I bet she does have a good voice with all that singing coming out of her family. Her grandmother sure was a good singer as well. I hope Whitney does continue to guide her career and not let it emerge before it reaches its time.

I always have a problem when mothers or daughters, in talkikng abtou themselves say “she’s like my best friend, she’s like my sister” that is not what mother/daughter relationships are about until much later in life (say when the daughter is in her 20′s) I think mother’s need to be mother’s and not turn to their teenaged children for support, friendship and advice especially during turbulent times. Bobbi should never have had to encourage her mother to leave her father. It is a role reversal that goes on too much in this country. Parents need to be parents not friends to their kids, and kids need to be left to be kids, without all the adult responsibilities heaped on them too soon. Bobbi Kristina is too young to have gone through all of this. I wish her all the best. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders. Even back when “Being Bobby Brown” was on I got the sense that she was the smartest one in that house! And I love the gap. Nothing wrong with it. Not everyone has to have straight chicklet teeth. The gap defines her, sets her apart and it is from her father’s side of the family, no need to change it.

I dont think there is anything wrong with a mother a daughter being friends and having a close relationship like sisters. I had that same kind of relationship with my mom when I was a teen and I thank God for that beautiful relationship everyday.

I know this sounds crazy but a few people I know stayed in crazy relationships because of their kids. Sometimes parents feel like their kids would be upset with them if they divorce. When I read the story, it didnt seem like Whitney was turning to her daughter for advice. More like a “mommy I see what’s going on, just leave him, I’ll be ok” type thing. I guess Bobbi Kristina saying that to Whitney made her realize that her daughter understood what she was going through.

If there were pics of Bobbi Kris at a club shaking her booty with Whitney in this post, THAT would be a problem LOL

I agree. Maybe if she wasn’t so much of Bobbi’s friend than mother, her lil fast behind wouldn’t have been out partying and smoking at her age! Anywho, maybe since Whitney has her act together, everything will work out for them both.

Lizbet, you are absolutely right. I’ve always had an extremely close relationship with my mom from birth to adulthood, but my mother was my mother, not my friend. I could go to her about anything, but don’t get it twisted, the line was never blurred between mother/daughter.

Anyway, I’ve loved Whitney from the day she hit the scene and I still do. I wish her and Bobbi Kristina the very best of success in the future.

P.S. I think BK’s gap is cute. It’s her. Why should she change it?

I don’t think bobby brown is bad and I do not think whitney is bad however I do believe they were bad for each other. Most kids understand (especially her age) whats going on so I don’t have a problem with bobbi kris reacting to a negative situation regarding her parents.

But I guess my concern is even during the show Being bobby brown I always thought that she and whitney would gang up on her dad. Or Whitney would allow a certain level of disrepect from kristina regarding her father. Now I am NOT making excuses for Mr. Brown because they weren’t good for each other but hearing that sort of makes me cringe because Bobby got issues we all know that but he isn’t a monster.

I wish Oprah would have asked Whitney what did she do when she saw the pics of Bobbi Kris smoking & drinking underage, wearing lingerie, and giving the finger in photos all as a minor. Is she on the right path too now, becuase some of those photos look recent. I pray that Bobbi Kris is ok now just like her mom and has seen enough to know that she needs to keep on the path with her mom and if she falls off get back on b/c the public is always looking and will link her acting up to her parents.

I loved the Oprah Whitney interview and Whitney looked gorgeous!!! Glad you are back!

I don’t think it’s anything wrong with a mother and daughter having a close relationship. I have always been very close with my mother and I hope that my daughter and I can have a similar relationship. It’s not that you and the child are on the same level, but you can lean on each other when necessary. And there is nothing wrong with Bobbi Kris’s gap. Her teeth are straight, so I don’t see why people are always commenting on this characteristic. I wish Bobbi all the success in the world. She’s been through a lot and deserves happiness.

Bobbi Kris is a pretty young lady. I too had a front tooth that was inherited from my father. My choice was to correct it. It made my smile beautiful! I needed that. It’s a personal decision that I made. I’d like to see a pic of her with it closed. I think I would like that better, but then again I am not her. She is pretty anyway, so am I (lol).
