Actress Angelina Jolie took three of  her six kids — Pax, 5, Zahara, 4, and Shiloh, 3, — to  Toys ‘R Us in Toulon, France on Wednesday (September 23rd).

In  related news, Angelina recently returned from a trip to Ethiopia with her daughter Zahara.

A close friend told People.com,”On a trip to Kenya with their children, Angelina stopped in Dabaab Refugee Camp, and also flew to Ethiopia with Zahara and Shiloh for two days. ” The trip was “the first time Zahara had been back home since her adoption. The trip was about keeping up that culture for her.”

Angelina adopted Zahara, 4, from Ethiopia in 2005.

Why is she dressed like a little boy

    • Janay says:

I’m not trying to be funny but I thought Shiloh was a boy at first…but then I just thought about that she’s a girl…I guess the have a little tom boy on their hands

      • Shaunie says:

Brad said in an interview before that she was a little tomboyish.

He said for months on end Shiloh made them call her John, and wouldn’t answer to ANY other name.

      • Keshia says:

You know I was sitting here looking at the photo and thinking to myself.”Now I know Shiloh is a girl” I thought at first maybe thats one of their friends. But you know exactly who it is because she is a blond hair version of her mom.Beautiful child.I like her outfit and I admire the way as parents they allow their children to express themselves.Great parenting on there part.Creative minds blooms creative adults.I love it.

  • Janay says:

Zahara is such a cutie patootie…I see the gangs all here, but where are the twins?? I’m sure they wanted a trip to Toys ‘R Us too

  • Mimosa says:

Can Zahara at least get a cute headband ? Goodness!

  • Monique says:

Zahara’s hair doesn’t bother me b/c it’s obvious that they don’t spend much time on any of the kid’s appearance.

But as with Mel B’s daughter, aren’t they a bit young to be tomboys. I was a tomboy as a preteen but they’re not even old enough to pick out they’re own clothes yet. So that means that their moms are buying and dressing them like that themselves.

    • Lauryn Torrance says:

I agree. Why would you put your child through that?

Now I understand that a sword outfit could be cute to look back at, but a shaved head? NOOOO

      • Anna says:

she has hair… it’s in a ponytail under the hat. I think it’s awesome that she just let her kids be kids.. i mean geez, if they want to pick out their own clothes, then go right ahead! I think she rocks… and I love the way she keeps Zahara’s hair.. It’s naturally beautiful.

    • misty says:

Well when I was three years old i hated dresses and the colors pink and purple. I wanted to only wear pants, shorts, and overalls. My mom was forced to buy me tomboy clothes because if she didnt I would cry. I also would only ride bikes and play with tonka trucks. To this day I will not wear pink but I am more girlish now with makeup, dresses, and skirts. Give them time they will fall into their own.

    • BeautifulKhen says:

My daughter is 3 and pick out her own clothes everyday, 3 to 4 times a day. Just tonight, I put a cute little blue nightie on her and she said “mommy, I do not like it” and got up to find something else. Kid’s do have a mind of their own from early ages. We as parent’s just have to give them a chance to develop it. For example, my daughter is a girly girl through and through and LOVE to wear dresses and fancy shoe’s and such. On day’s when I want her to wear some simple blue jeans and she refuse bcs she want’s to wear a dress, I do not stop her. I realize that this is how kid’s develop their own personalities. I am all about free will(with some boundries). It is hard for them to express themselves when we pick out every little thing that they wear.

    • tanisha says:

no true it depends on the kid. when i was young i only wanted to wear pants and i played with gi joes, transformers, he-man ect i was always with the boys making mudd pies and dirt bikes. it depends on the child most parents let their children express themselves the way they want and let them grow out naturally

  • Eve says:

A lot of black people I know HATE to see our hair in its natural state. Zahara has naturally curly, big hair. In this country, long straight hair is the “norm”, so anything that falls outside of that is like the boogie man. I’m so glad she’s being raised by people who don’t have problems with seeing black hair in its natural state.

    • tight2def says:

      Exactly, Eve! Finally.
And wow, Shiloh looks just like a mini Brad.

    • sexy t says:

Who cares how there hair looks,as long as its clean. That’s what’s important. In my opinion Jen and Brad would have made cuter babies

    • BB says:

Zahara’s hair is fine. She has defined curls that look fluffed out, not packed down to her scalp and uncombed.

She is only 4 at that. I can’t stand seeing moms with all that hair gel and grease and 100 barettes hanging on for dear life on their 2,3 4 year old little girls—yuk. What is even worse is the “torture” their vane brainwashed moms put them through with this “beauty” ritual…

So I say, keep rockin’ that pretty fro’ Zahara.

      • BeautifulKhen says:

LMAO @ 100 barrettes hanging on for dear life…that was hilarious!!!

But yes, I hate that also. I tell my husband how much I dislike it everytime I see a little girl with all that mess decorating her head. I keep my daughter’s hair nice and simple, sometimes with a bow or two here and there.

        • Katchick28 says:

I have family members who get upset if my 9 year old doesn’t have hair bows in her hair. Sometimes she does want hair bows in her hair and other times I don’t feel like putting them in. I think my baby is pretty either way. I love the fact that they are letting Zahara’s hair be free. You can tell they at least comb it. I like to see children with their natural hair. My daughter hasn’t had a perm at all. I don’t think I will even consider letting her get one until she is at least 16. I was a little tomboy too. I still am. I love to wrestle with my son and my daughter she is in between sometimes she is girly and sometimes she is a tomboy.I love the mix. I think Shiloh looks cute and I love Zahara’s skirt but then a lot of my family don’t consider me to have any taste LOL!!!! I love the comfortable look.

        • Katchick28 says:

I think all three kids look happy and cute. I love how Angelina took Zahara to Ethiopia. She is keeping her in touch with her culture. I love Zahara’s natural hair as well. My 9 year old daughter has never had a perm and doesn’t always where hair bows either. I want her to be proud of her natural hair which is why I try not to use words like nappy when referring to her hair. I think Zahara’s hair is beautiful. We all should just accept that is the way that her parents want her hair. I read in an interview about a year ago that they have tried putting Zahara’s hair in ponytails but she would just pull them out because she didn’t like them. So it seems like there isn’t really much else they can do accept let her be her.

        • Midnite says:

THE WORST PART IS WHEN WE PUT 1000 BOWS, BARRETSS AND PULL THE HAIR SO TIGHT AROUND THE EDGES. I saw a little girl hair so tight that she was already bald around the edges and they still had her hair pulled tight, I told my cousin her daughter’s hair was to tight and she said it’s okay she will play it lose. lol. We gotta do better.

  • Lisette says:

Shiloh looks like her grandfather Jon Voight. Zahara is going to be a handful. Why are all the children the same size? Aren’t they different ages?

  • melmel says:

I luv that they allow the kids to be free and not worry about their appearances. I will longer comment on Z’s hair cause when she gets older all that will change.

  • sepsep says:

Shilo looks like a little boy, but kids are androgynous at this age. It’s only when they grow do they realize the roles people put themselves in. Zahara is cute as usuall.

  • sexy t says:

As long as her hair is clean that’s all that matter

  • Mel from Toronto says:

    Gorgeous, happy kids.

If I see the word “comb” followed by “hair” I might put a vein. LOL just thought I’d give you guys the heads up first :D

  • dashayna says:

i love her hair, the curls r so big n pretty, ur rite alot of black people have problems with there own hair, thus perms n hot combs. It is a shame that other races love black culture more then us!!

    • BB says:

As I posting my comments, I thought about mentioning that too. I am sure Jolie is leaving her daughter’s hair like that intentionally just to show off its beauty in her eyes and probably doesn’t want her daughter hung up on such superficiality at a young age.

Heck it took Jolie’s big lips to help make what is typically a “black feature” all the rage in the beauty industry and la la land. The blues has been all but adopted by white culture and cast off by blacks–I could go on, but I won’t. I won’t be writing anymore novels on this blog–lol

      • neenee says:

someone said summat about black people being ashamed or disliking their natural hair (i dont remember the exact wording)
perhaps alot of adults cant be bothered to deal with the natural hair because it needs so much maintenance but on our kids (black people) im sorry but natural is the way 2 go i love to see children with their natural hair whether it be cornrowed or out like an afro, being that ange n brad are not black i believe this is the reason why people react when they see that zahara’s hair is not looking at its best, as long as they are greasing it regually (because unlike white people and people who are not black) our hair needs moisture as it dries up rather quickly) and plaiting it up at night time (because it will be knotty in the morning if this is not done) then heyyy everytings alllrite

        • dashayna says:

But her hair is moisturize, if it wasn’t trust me you would be able to tell, her hair is not smashed together on her head.

N it does seem like black people are ashamed of there hair, why is it every other race are allowed to wear there hair natural, but blacks gotta have it straight and pulled down and together!!!crazy.

  • Mimosa says:

    Still… A bow or something.

  • Kara says:

I think her kids are adorable. They’re not all dolled up like most celeb kids. They do their own thing and I think that’s cool. My little sister used to be a big tomboy even at age 2 and 3. If you look at pictures of Angelina as a kid she was a complete tomboy. But wow, Shiloh looks cute just like her dad and Zahara is beautiful.

  • BCKay says:

France, Ethiopia, and Kenya. They have been traveling when are they going to Cambidia? Pax is still a cutie and i want to see the twins.

Sexyt whether or not Jen and Brad would’ve had cuter babies we’ll never know. Jen wasn’t ready for babies that’s why i think they got divorced. It’s ok though because she shouldn’t haft to have children if she don’t want them and he shouldn’t haft to wait until she was ready to have them. They are both nice looking women and he’s a nice looking man no matter who they have their children by the kids would be cute. All children are cute.

  • magnolia89 says:

I love her hair(zahara). I think it’s beautiful. I wear my hair like that all the time and i love it. People need to realize that everyones hair comes in different textures and lengths they are all beautiful. No one bothers white, spanish, and asians when their hair looks a mess, and we all know they can look busted sometimes. I’m just saying as black women we should love our hair cause it damn good hair. Not going against anyone, like i said im just saying.

  • Kiki says:

I don’t think the problem people have with her hair has anything to do with it being natural. People just want to see it groomed.

    • BeautifulKhen says:

The funny thing is, it is not about what “people” want. It is all about Z. I am sure if and when Z wants her hair to be “groomed” she will make the demands and I am sure her demands will be met. People are too worried about whats not important.

    • Jessica says:

All of those kids look do not look groomed. No need to pick on Z all the time.

    • Jessica says:

I think Zahara’s hair looks very pretty (and she looks beautiful) in this pic.

Everybody goes on and on about how pretty Shiloh is but I think she will end up looking very average and not “the most beautiful woman on the planet” blah blah blah. Zahara’s heart-shaped face, high-cheek bones and big eyes has supermodel written all over it.

  • Pisces says:

Shiloh looks like a little mini-me of her Dad, Brad Pitt in the photo. She looks like she adores big sis Zahara, they look so cute side by side.. Shiloh is Daddy’s girl. She even has the same kind of hat on that Brad has been wearing a lot recently.

  • magnolia89 says:

I think it looks fine the way it is.

  • sharon says:

shiloh looks like a boy, Zahara looks fantastic, even her hair is fabulous. She doesn’t need any extras to make her look preety or noticed.

  • Judd says:

Awww all three are so freakin cute! OMG I love the whole different nationality thing goin on in the pictures, LoL. Angelina and Brad are pretty cool too.. :)

    • Sherley says:

You said exactly what I was thinking Judd. I’m so busy focusing on how they are raising these children from different nationalities together under one household to see no boundaries between them, that I do not notice Zahara’s hair nor Shiloh’s outfit.

Has everyone forgotten these children are only 3 & 4? They do not care about what their clothes/hair looks to outsiders. All they care about is how much love they get from their parents & each other & how much time they have to play.

Sheesh, leave those babies alone. They aren’t out to impress the public, they are just being kids. Glad, I am not a celebrity because yall would stay talking about me & my children.

  • mamanas says:

It’s a shame that the slave mentality around hair STILL exist. When will some of us AA get off the plantation and embrace who we are and what we look like.

  • Rae says:

Somewhere in an interview, Brad mentioned how much he loved the natural curl and body to Zahara’s hair and spun off into a mini tangent about a specific line of natural products he and Angie use for her hair. Random, but I thought it was cute.

Zahara is gorgeous, and all it takes is one look at Shiloh to know that’s Brad’s girl.

  • Whateva! says:

Black people do have issues with their hair. Most don’t think it is nice enough to wear in its natural state. My hair is natural and I get more comments from white people then I do from black people. The comment I get from black people are mostly negative. It is really sad. I think that black hair in its natural state looks alot better then tons and tons of weave or broken off hair from relaxers any day. I know some of you are going to say, my hair is healthy. Well you are the minority because most black hair does not look good weaved up and relaxed to death.

    • dashayna says:

Yes im ashame to say it took me 3 years of perming to learn that my natural hair is so beatiful, its curly n fine and thick, its my father’s hair, my grandma’s hair, my great great grandfather’s hair. Its super curly its so soft and all it needs is water n conditoner. More blacks need to embrace there hair, embrace those thick roots cuz there YOUR ROOTS from YOUR HISTORY!!

  • Whateva! says:

Besides, Zahara looks happy because she doesn’t have those tight braids in her and and tons of hairbows weighing her down which is usually what I see with black kids hair. She also doesn’t have weave which allows her own hair to be healthy. The other thing is that the small minority of kids that still have nice hair with the few bows and a couple plaits, non weave wearing are rare.

  • Sherley says:

Everyone so busy bashing Angelina about Zahara’s hair & Shiloh’s clothes, you guys failed to see how she took Zahara to visit her country. Her parents wants her to know about her culture as hse grows up. They do not have to, but they do.

That far outshines any of the negative comments on here.

  • Kiki says:

I am black AND I wear my hair natural. I love natural hair and I advocate for it. But, for MY personal taste, I would like to see Z and Henry’s hair a little more kempt. However, they are NOT my children and I agree that their parent’s have the right to do whatever they choose with THEIR children’s hair. I also don’t see anything wrong with saying you don’t like a certain style.

  • aries says:

    her childeren look unique

  • StormiEssence says:

For how much $ Angelina and Brad make, if I saw this family out somewhere, I would think they were poor and did not have much $ to buy decent clothes for their kids !!! Just because the parents like to dress like they have no sense whatsoever, don’t make the kids dress that way!

As far as the hair, Zahara’s hair is beautiful but it looks like Angelina does not run a comb throught it whatsoever every time I see pics of Z! But Shiloh is looking like a little boy with that hat and pirates vest she is wearing.

I would never have pictured Brad going from Jen to Angelina - two totally different women! *LOL*

  • Lady says:

Brad has said many times that Shiloh likes to pretend shes “John” from Peter Pan and she likes to pretend she’s different characters…so if the child is happy healthy and having fun why not let her dress how she wants! I mean she is going to Toys R Us how appropriate is her outfit for that store?

People expect her to dress like a “girl” because she has these gorgeous parents but in reality she is a tomboy is likes playing with her brothers…who cares!!

Zahara is gorgeous, I love her hair too! I’m sure they brush it, those are very well taken care of kids!

  • Shanice says:

I have a two year old niece who is like a daughter to me and she wants to do everything herself. When she doesn’t want her hair combed, it doesn’t get combed(thank god she has a lot of hair lol), she doesn’t wear dresses unless you trick or bribe her into it. Now, her sister, my 5 year old niece, if it isn’t tight, she’s not wearing it. She’s VERY girly, pocketboods, lip gloss, even her night clothes have to fit snuggly. SMH @ her. She used to be so tomboyish. I miss those days.

  • Toni says:

Zahara is so gorgeous, and I think her fro is tamed compared to Vanessa’s son hairstyle that was posted recently. At least they were going to the toy store and not an event!

  • R says:

Imma make this real simple for EVERYONE. The kids look super cute, every single one of them , without a doubt. But lets face it, they NEED to learn to comb Z’s hair or get a hairstylist in who knows how to style black hair.

I mean c’mon now, look at Madonna’s daughter Mercy, her hair is always braided and it looks good. It’s full time now they got a stylist for her hair. Nothing is wrong per se with her wearing it so every now and then, but get it braided, combed, something !!

    I’m just saying.

  • Virgie says:

I <3 Zee’s NAPPY ‘fro. Ain’t nuthin wrong with those freed naps and the kinkier the better.

    How about them n-apples?!

  • kim says:

I prefer Zahara’s fro to Mercy’s tight braids ,to each his own

  • Melissa says:

BEAUTIFUL FAMILY…I THINK IT IS CUTE THAT SHILOH IS A TOMBOY BUT I

STILL THINK IT IS BETTER TO DRESS HER AS A GIRL AT THIS AGE SO SHE

DOES NOT DEVELOP GENDER IDENTITY PROBLEMS. SHE IS A PRETTY CHILD

AND ANGELINA SHOULD MAKE THE MOST OF IT. IF SHE CHOOSED TO BE

BUTCH OR FEMININE LATER ON IT IS HER CHOSE.

  • m-dot says:

I’m sorry but when you are a child, you dress in what your parents buy you. My daughter would be dressed like a little girl. Not nec. frilly and all pink, but why not a purple tshirt and jeans, or something? You can be a tomboy without looking like an actual boy.

  • kim says:

Cher dressed Chastity in frilly dresses and she still turned out to be transgendered. One thing has nothing to do with the other, There are many pics of Shiloh in dresses one example when Brad Angie and the girls were at the grocery store and both girls were wearing dresses. Check the archives The girl was playing dress up on this day. No different than a child wearing a spiderman or astronaut outfit

  • Michele says:

I think some of you are being a little harsh. When I do have children I will be the same of Brad and Angie. I love how they raise their children to think for themselves and make their own decisions. Children need to be free and express themselves. There is nothing wrong with Shiloh wanting to dress like her brothers and their is nothing wrong with Zahara’s hair.

They will both change as they grow older - as most people do. Their are plenty of more things to be concerned about them her wearing jeans, a t shirt, hats, boots, swords, whatever.

At least they are raising them away from crazy Hollywierd. And teaching them to help others that are in need. I think their children will probably be semi normal. It’s not like they go out seeking attention. They are in FRANCE! I just love them as a family. Very unique and open minded. Teaching them about their home countries. I bet some of your children don’t even know some simple American history.

  • luvbug says:

I LUV ANGELINA, BUT I BELIEVE SHE IS MISSING A SCREW OR TWO. THOSE KIDS LOOKS A MESS,LAWDY,LMAO. SHILOH HAVE A DAYUM SWORD, ZAHARA STICKING HER TONGUE OUT AT SOMEBODY,LOL, AND PAX IN A WORLD OF HIS OWN. THEY DO NOT NEED ANY MORE KIDS. PERSONALLY, I DONT THINK THEY HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER THOSE KIDS. WHAT COULD THEY POSSIBLY FIND AT A TOY STORE THAT THEY DONT ALREADY HAVE? I AM SURPRISED THEY DONT HAVE ANY JUNK FOOD IN THEIR HANDS. NOT GONNA GO TO THE HAIR TODAY…..THEY R SOME CUTE KIDS.
