I guess the older you are having a baby, the harder it is, based on this pic.

  • Toni says:

Ok I’m not going to try to pronounce the baby’s name, but he’s a cutie!

  • Kiki says:

    Boy, Lisa is looking r.o.u.g.h.!

  • Janay says:

put that baby on some clothes…

  • Sherley says:

    lol @ Janay.

That is the whitest black baby I have ever seen. And you people doubt MJ’s children are his.

  • Raven says:

    Wow, what happen to her?

Does she not know how to carry a baby? Nakoa looks like he is falling.!!

What a name though, i would hate to be in pre-k trying to spell that. forget about spelling. How do you pronouce it?!?!?!

  • Truth says:

So baby’s name is Nakoa Momoa???? Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice!! I thought Vercy, Hercy, Mercy and Percy were bad enough!

  • m-dot says:

@ Sherly- Well, Lisa’s only half white, and the kid’s father is asian…so anything goes with the looks. lol

  • shelia says:

omg… lisa does not look rough. she is bohemian just because you dont understand it does not make it bad. and i think her baby name is unique and beautiful. its better then naming the child porche, mercedes or man man or little man i hate those ghetto names with no meaning.

  • Khrish says:

I always liked Bonet but always found her a bit strange, even when she was a part of the Cosby Kids. Her daughter seems just as strange as she.

  • Lois says:

Awww, another cute little tri-cultural cutie( White, black & Asian). I have always liked Lisa, she is so usual and down-to-earth, kind of a free spirit.

  • JusSayinUKno says:

Is she pregnant again??? That looks like a bulge that baby’s knee is under????

  • Kay says:

He’s cute but Lisa looks like she’s dropping him LOL

  • Shanice says:

I’m not saying that she looks rough bc of the way she’s dressed. I’m saying she looks old! She looks older than Phylica Rashad. Cute kid, though

  • ijove_taylor says:

Yep, our people come in all different packages don’t they? Folks in the African diaspora should all be included here. The Blasians, Biracials and such from all over the world.

  • Ijove Taylor says:

All of our children from the African diaspora are beautiful in whatever shade they appear. And we appear in all colors which adds to the beauty of our various cultural mix. He has a lovely Hawaiian name and I bet it has a beautiful meaning.

    • Victoria says:

I couldn’t agree more, Ijove Taylor. Black people must be one of the most culturally, ethnically, phenotypically diverse groups in the world.

Lisa’s son is adorable! I hope her and her family are doing just great. I wonder if she’s ever set to marry Jason Momoa. She does have two children by him, it would be nice if they wed.

      • Mia says:

At some of his recent appearances at Cons and things, Jason’s been referring to Lisa as his wife. So maybe it’s not legal and formal but it seems like they consider themselves married, or at least Jason does. I think they’re wonderful together and their children are beautiful.

  • Liane says:

    Hippies unite!

He is adoreable and she is managing fine thou she looks as if she is carry a hemp sack and not her son.LOL!! Hold on baby, hold on!

  • jtaylor says:

All of our children in the African diaspora look different and they are all welcomed and loved. I think Lisa looks good, tired, but good. Don’t forget she is 41 and taking care of two babies that takes a lot out of a woman.

  • luvbug says:

SINCE SO MANY OF YA R DEFENDING LISA’S BABY GENETICS, ISNT HALLE AND GABE IN THE SAME CATEGORY? SO WHY IS NAHLA SO DARK?

    • universitychick says:

thats GENETICS sweetie, some people come out dark, light, blue eyes, gray eyes whatever, you gotta look at people’s entire family trees. Plus the baby is rather young, most babes get darker as they age…

    • Pisces says:

I think we all tend to forget that Halle Berry’s father was African American as is Lisa Bonet’s. That means these babies are just one generation from their Blackness, their grandparents.

If Nahla’s grandpa were living to see her and if Halle Berry would have wanted a positive relationship with him, ( he died in 2003) she would be interfacing with her Black grandpa and probably would know her Black cousins and other relatives on her grandpa’s side ( they do exist somewhere in Ohio or wherever Mr. Berry was from originally.

Why is Blackness so marginalized in the scheme of race/ethnicity discussion?

    • Victoria says:

Gee luvbug, why does it matter “why Nahla is so dark”? Does the level of melanin in her skin have any significance? Some children are born lighter, some children are born darker, because of being of mixed descent + Black heritage. Who cares? Goodness, I hope Nahla doesn’t grow up being asked “why are you so dark?” throughout her life. It’d be a shame if she developed a complex over something so absolutely meaningless.

    • BB says:

ummm–cause she has black in her?? Genetics are unpredictable.

Black features are typically more dominant, so I am not suprised of Nahla’s light tan skin (she’s still quite a bit lighter than the average black) versus having ivory skin. Still don’t know why it was automatically presumed by some that she would be so much fairer?

At any rate, Lisa Bonet fan here. She was so pretty when she was younger–my favorite Cosby kid bar none.

She is not weird, she is just perfectly herself. A free spirited bohemian chic–it is good to be free like that instead of trying to fit into some one else’s idea of the norm..

Gorgeous kids, particularly her little girl. The oldest girl with Lenny Kravitz turned out to be quite the looker too, trying to break into movies–it will be interesting to see how she does.

  • Zogie says:

what in the world is the deal with the name? Seriously I’m a person with a hard name.. And I wish parents would be more considerate to their children when their naming them. My parents thought naming me.. A traditional nigerian name.. ( well it was back then) was okay because it was my dads name blah blah..these kids have to go to school, and to the two people who said u feel sorry for the teacher..y would u feel sorry for the teacher?.. SHe/he will be an educated person. Feel sorry for the child who will have to explain himself every where he goes.
ooh and by no means do I say name your kid sarah because its easy. Or john because its easy to write.. But c’mon, apple, rainbow, names with 30 letters.. STOP IT YOUr HUrting your kids!!

P.S Lisa looked just like this on the Cosby Show..I more see her as a rebel/hippie. You know that friend u pull lint balls off and even wonder why ur her friend.. But u still love her?…lmao

    • Khrish says:

Lisa baby’s name comes as a result of the religion that she practices, so she would have meaning and reason for the name.

    • Lioness says:

My name is traditional Nigerian, too… and while I was a kid, yeah, I wanted a more common name, but I am soooo grateful for my name’s uniqueness now. That boy will be just fine, lol, and he sure is a cutie :-)

      • Naija Gal says:

Just to add on to Ms. Lioness

-he will be fine. He may have some childhood issues with his name but Cali is sooo diverse that he shouldn’t have too many issues. Besides, he’ll grow into his name and become proud of it.

I know I am! (I have a traditional middle AND last name)

  • Electra says:

Our children come in all different colors whether they are mixed or not. Why is Honor Warren so light, why is Harlow so light, why is Jaya the daugher of laura Dern so light. I saw pictures of JLO’s daughter and I couldn’t believe how dark she is with kinky/curly hair. No one is defending Lisa’s baby’s genetics that is so stupid. We are simply stating what her children’s racial identity is: African, Asian and European. Nahla took her coloring after her mother, her eyes and hair color after her father. Jlo’s twins, especially the girl EMME is twice as dark as both her parents and her brother.

  • CafeAuLait40222 says:

Okay, the comments you are all making have me laughing soooooo hard. I have been in the bed sick for the last 2 days and I so needed to come to this site and see the crazy comments.

I have been a Lisa fan ever since I first saw her on The Cosby Show. However, she does look a little long in the above pic, but then she doesn’t have on any make-up either. I am sure a little foundation and powder will lighten up her years.

I too, was wondering if she was pregnant again. I take my hat off to her to have children at our age (yes, I am the same age she is). I don’t think….hmmmm I know I couldn’t do it - not two small ones in my 40s - wayyyyy too hard.

I do wish her and fine Jason Momoa the very best in their relationship. That man is beyond beautiful!

Also, about the names….ummmmm I do believe they do their child a disservice by giving them those types of names. Unless their child goes into the entertainment industry they are setting them up to be targets of racism and the child would never even know it. Recruiters can take one look at Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa’s name and tell he/she (because I am sure they would NOT be able to tell the sex by the name) they were of some sort of different ethnicity and the recruiter would just toss the resume in the trash.

Give the kids normal names. Don’t have to be John, Becky, Sarah or Michael. However, something they won’t be embarrassed by and can spell and pronounce at an early age.

  • The Truth says:

LOL!!! cosign about JLO’s “DARK CHILD”. Those twins, particulary the girl, are very different in coloring than both of her parents, plus she has (EMME) a different, more curly/kinky grade of hair, it is so weird, yet theya are all Puerto Ricans from the same family.

  • Judd says:

I’m sorry but her hair makes me itch..

  • Melissa says:

ONE OF MY BLACK FRIENDS IS MARRIED TO A GERMAN AND HER DAUGHTER

ELSA HAS HUGE BLUE GREEN EYES, BLACK WAVY HAIR AND WHITE SKIN. AND

AS FAR AS FEATURES SHE LOOKS JUST LIKE ANNA NICOLE SMITH’S DAUGTHER.

SHE ALREADY STOPS TRAFFIC BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE CONSTANTELY STARING AT

HER. SO MUCH SO THAT SHE IS STARTING TO GET CONSCIOUS OF IT AND

NERVOUS EVEN AT 7 YEARS. LISA WAS SO PRETTY AS A YOUNGER WOMAN AND

THIS CHILD WILL CERTAINLY BE EVEN MORE EXOTIC. HER FULL BLOODED

BROTHER IS BROWN WITH KINKY HAIR SO YOU CAN NEVER TELL HOW THEY

WILL TURN OUT. AS I DO FOR MY OWN GORGEOUS MIXED RACE CHILDREN I

JUST HOPE THEY ALL HAVE SOLID PERSONALITIES, A GOOD WORK ETHIC AND

RESPECT FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR COMMUNITIES. THIS WILL TAKE THEM

    FUTHER IN LIFE THAN BEAUTY.

  • tatyana says:

considering Lisa Bonet is mixed black and white ,,and the dad is native shes not going to be that brown.
