MAYA RUDOLPH BUMPS IT UP
Funny Lady Maya Rudolph revealed her growing baby bump at the Los Angeles premiere of comedian Chris Rock’s “Good Hair” on October 1, 2009. Maya and Chris Rock are set to star in a new film titled “Grown Ups, which is due out next year. Maya plays actor Chris Rock’s wife in the Adam Sandler–scripted comedy.
Maya, who already has a daughter named Pearl, 3, is due this fall.

I just found out last year that she is the daughter of Minnie Ripperton and I about chocked. I loved Minnie Ripperton and I was so sad when she died. I will never forget that voice and noone else has been able to equal it. Maya suddenly became very special to me, just knowing that was her mom.

They don’t make them like Minnie anymore. She is one of my favorite singers EVER. When she was featured on the TV One special, “Unsung,” I just cried my eyes out. Minnie was a magnificant singer. People often compare Mariah to her, but Minnie is in a league by herself.

I was wondering about Maya just the other day. I guess she’s still sitting around with her feet up waiting for the day. She is one of the funniest women on SNL. My mother had all of her mother’s albums and played them incessantly throughout my childhood. Minnie was one of the greatest singers of her era and left us way too soon. It is so sad that she isn’t here to experience the birth of her grandchildren. Maya is a lovely, young woman and her mom would be so proud.
