Actor/singer Jamie Foxx has a kid-friendly version of his hit song “Blame It.” Jamie said on the Jay Leno show on Monday(October 5th) that he was inspired to change the lyrics to his song because of some angry parents at his daughter’s school.

He said jokingly to Jay Leno, “I got a lot of flack for that because the kids started singing the song. I would go to my daughter’s school andĀ  parents would go, ‘How dare you have my child bringing flasks of Hennessy to the school?’ They were upset with me. So my manager’s daughter came up with the idea to change the song a little bit so the kids would have something to sing.”

Here is the chorus for the original song “Blame it on the alcohol”:

[Chorus]
Blame it on the goose
Got you feeling loose
Blame it on petron
Got you in the zone

Blame it on the a a a a a alcohol
Blame it on the a a a a a a alcohol

Kid Friendly version

[chorus]

Blame it on the juice
‘Cause you’re only two
Blame it on the juice
Whatcha gonna do

Blame it on the ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-apple juice.”

LaterĀ  during the interview, Jamie mentioned that his daughter Corinne Foxx,15, will be starring in a movie alongside him. The movie is called Valentine’s day and is due out in 2010.

BCK Says: Jamie is such a comedian!

Have’nt seen his daughter in a long time, she has grown up alot..

  • tanisha says:

if the parents have a problem with their kids listening to it turn it off. plain and simple.

    • Khrish says:

I personally admire the parents who are in direct contact with an artist to ask them to tone down the negatives in their pieces of music. I wish more parents had that access and cooperation from the artists. It certainly didn’t hurt his sales by changing the lyrics. And I feel certain that he will think twice when doing his next hit pieces, because he too now has a daughter who is listening to his music.

    • Ms'girl says:

I cosign with that. Because if I dont want my child to listen to certain songs she doesnt. If we are riding in the car I change the station. But we talk about songs. I was in love and still is with Prince back in the day and my parents had no problem. It is something seriously wrong if your child wants to drink.

  • Amber Gray says:

LOL SUUUUPPPPPPERR CORNY. AND BESIDES, ALL KIDS ALREADY KNOW THE GROWN UP VERSION ANYWAY. LOL

  • Ang says:

why are parents blaming Jamie because their child is bringing flasks to school. That’s not Jamie’s fault. That’s home training. Parents need to start raising their own kids and stop letting society

  • dashayna says:

she so pretty and she dresses so age appropriate

  • Blue says:

I’ve never heard the entire song, but I highly doubt that Jamie told children to bring alcohol to school. Don’t blame him for your child’s poor decisions.

Tanisha, not all parents allow their children to listen to this type of music, yet they still hear it anyway. My 10 year old sister knows the lyrics to some songs that she defenitly doesn’t hear at home. When asked how she knows these songs, she says that she hears it in school.

  • kourtnei says:

My thoughts upon reading this nonsense: ” How dare you have my child bringing flasks of Hennessy to the school?” Uhh how about HOW DARE YOU PROVIDE THE FLASK AND HENNESSY that YOUR CHILD BRINGS TO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m quite sure that Corrine isn’t bringing any alcohol and her dad sings the song! That ridiculous that you blame someone who sings a song on your childs wayward behavior, maybe its your parenting skills??? Jamie or any other artist for that matter is NOT responsible for raising and teaching your child. If you can’t do it, blame yourself and NO ONE ELSE!

  • AirForceGirl says:

So he changed the lyrics, but only after he made millions of dollars and little kids everywhere are singing because they heard it on 106th and Park for months(because 106th & park is basically for young teenagers). How very big of him! What a guy!

  • Nikki says:

The parents need to be blaming theirselves for what their kids are doing not Jamie. It is funny how people want to blame someone else for their kids doing bad things instead of looking at themselves.

  • Mrs.James says:

Jamie you donig your thang.Your daughter dress nice for her age.F**** the people that say u are to blame that kid need to get his a** whipped. Keep doing You baby

  • hahahhaha says:

Jamie probably was in comedian mode and made that story up as a joke.

  • dree says:

Haha, just proves how talented this dude is…but I think that’s the parents responsibilty to decide what their kids are listening to.

I like it…blame in ah aha ah ah alcohol

  • Melissa says:

THANKS…CAUSE AS A MOM I WAS NOT FEELIN THE ALCOHOL LINE EITHER!
