These are very nice pictures…Angel is adorable! Angel’s biological father should be ashamed of himself for not taking part in this child’s life. These are some of the most precious moments in life that you can never get back. Ohhhh and I’m lovin Mel’s boots !!!
They are only precious if this was a child he wanted and planned for. Eddie was on a rebound after his divorce and Mel should have treated it that way. They both should have and used birth control during this relationship. If a man has already denied your pregancy is from him, what do you expect of him when the child in born. He gave her 50 Mil. and he expects her to go away. Babyface’s ex was just a simple, but at least she was smart enough not to make a child. He’s never bonded with that child so the child is just another child to him.

Angel IS a precious child no matter what the circumstances were between Mel & Eddie when she was conceived and the Lord brought her into this world. SO WHAT????? Eddie was on the rebound…if he knew he wanted to be out there BEING A MAN WHORE AND F***** everything that had breath, he should have protected HIMSELF to prevent unwanted children.
I did not mean that the baby wasn’t precious. I meant that she is not precious to Eddie. I agree with you that he should have been more mature in dealing with sexual issues by using protection. He knew that he had no plans to stay with this woman. He and she both acted immaturely. We all know that he was on the rebound and also BabyFace’s ex found out that she was only a rebound attraction as well, but she had the good sense to protect herself as any mature adult should. I’m not letting Eddie off the hook; but he has paid monitarily for his bad judgement. If the baby is not precious to him, he is not going to be in her life. He sees this child as a mistake and the best thing that could happen is for him not to be in her life if he is forced to. We knew when he vehemently denied the child that he didn’t want her, so why are we so surpised that he is not in her life. Better for her.
um… his mistakes with Mel B should not have any bearing on how he treats an innocent human being that he fathered. More than half of pregnancies are unplanned, and society nor the law approves of parents who don’t participate in raising their own child, unless there was some explicit agreement that someone else should do it i.e. adoption.
Im kind of shocked that there is someone who agrees with people who take their disapproval of the situation out on a child.
Men don’t think like mothers. Many men leave the family after the children are born into a marriage and don’t interact with their children. That’s just a fact of life. This was a child that Murphy did not want. Why is that so hard to understand. It has nothing to do with the child being a beautiful and precious little girl. What about Mel’s other daughter, where is that father? Is he in her life?
It doesn’t matter if the child wasn’t wanted, when you have a child BOTH mother and father should take responsibility and raise it. Even if they aren’t together.
Yes, they should be, but realistically they are not always and that’s a bad thing, but it’s the truth. I don’t feel this child is going to be neglected in anyway with or without him. This is not a fairy tale so things don’t always have a happy ending or the ending that others would perfer.

I love Angel’s hair…Its not bad parenting at all. You never know maybe she saw somebody else’s hair like that and said she wanted her’s done to. She’s a kid and she got it done so what!!! Let the baby be!! She doesnt have a job to attend and guess what its just hair!!! IT WILL GROW BACK…besides she’s not your child anyway…thats what makes the world go around cause we are all different!

But Phoenix’s hair looks like it was cut out of necessity. It not in a weird, “hip”, “want her to look cool” style.
IMO, It just looks to me like she had to have a SERIOUS trim (where its so damaged…breakage & split ends, that they have to take off more than normal.)
Some people don’t realize that keeping your hair natural DOES NOT mean you can skip having to go to a salon/ hair professional. It needs to be trimmed not matter relaxer, permed, natural, etc.

There was a DNA test performed on the baby when she was a few months old.

Everybody is so down on Eddie. Have you ever thought that this chick was trying to hook him? It takes two to tango and she should have used contraceptive methods, especially knowing that this man was sleeping around. He recognizes his other 2 children that he had before his marriage. They are each to blame for a few nights of bliss without maturity. He’s paid her 5 Mil and maybe one day he may want to be a part of the little girl’s life. She’s really taken care of so that’s better than nothing. I have never seen Eddie as a whore as some say above. He’s doing what most men do without if they get the chance. I feel that they are both to blame for this, she for thinking she could hook him with a baby and him for being foolish enough to think that he could get by with unprotected sex.

I certainly would be more concerned with the absentee fathers who don’t even step up to the plate and take care of the material needs of the child. You can’t make someone accept a child no matter how bad you think it is. Maybe in time he will change his mind. That’s totally something between Eddie and the child. No one can force it. She forced him to do all that she could, Mel, that is. She made him pay, the rest is up to Eddie. He has his own 5 children and his two older boys whose life he is a part of. It may sound cold but it’s factual.

I’m just wondering, why are you so convinced Mel B tried to lock Eddie Murphy down with a baby? What is it, exactly that would make Mel B, who already had a child & her own money, want to stoop so low & get knocked up by Eddie Murphy, a man who already had 9 kids?
The two of them got together, had stupid fun & wham, here comes Angel. It happens all over the world & the children are the ones suffering for it. Condoms are an invention all men, including actors & athletes need to use more often, raw sex isn’t cool. As a woman, Mel B should have made sure she was protected as she didn’t know what Eddie was carrying. Lucky for her, all she received was a beautiful little girl.
Whether or not Angel was planned or wanted, Eddie has a responsibility to Angel. It takes more than child support to care for a child. Whether Eddie wanted or loves Angel, the mature thing to do is be a man & raise his daughter. PERIOD!
I bet you if Bria got pregnant by a man & he pulled an Eddie, Eddie would not be pleased. He will not think that was an acceptable situation for his daughter to be in.

I don’t dissagree with you about what Eddie owes the child, but I do say that does not mean she will get anything more than money for right now. I simply don’t understand people who are playing around, playing with their lives the way the two of them did and I hold men just as responsible for birth control as I do women. But everyone is talking about Eddie not being there for the new child, so I am asking where is the father of the first child. I’me never seen that child with her father. Why is he getting a pass and Eddie’s being crucified. Mel doesn’t seem to be that concerned about him not being in the child’s life. She was married soon after the child was born, so she must have been interested in this man who is her husband now, while she was bedding Eddie. It was just careless of them both.
I Googled info about Stephen Belafonte mainly because I wondered if he was related to Harry Belafonte and he is not. In one blog, her husband is described as a “not so successful” TV/film producer.
I’m sure Eddie Murphy’s attorneys handling the settlement of child support for little Angel were savvy enough to put it in trust for the child’s future or distributed by need on a month to month basis.
Other than that, Angel’s Daddy’s money is taking care of Mel’s entire family.
I had googled him as soon as I found out that she was marrying him. The first think I thought about was Harry Belefonte’s son and also found that there was not relationship. However, I did see a picture of Belefonte’s son and his wife. LOL If Eddie thought she was cheating on him it seems that he would have then been wise enough to have protective sex. These people are so immature when it comes to having sex with each other. I just don’t know when we will wise up to the fact that we are in no way exempt from many STDs. It’s like we think we are immuned. And HIV seems like it is of no concern to our folk.
Khrish, I agree about the safe sex. Until I researched this story a little more, I had no idea that Mel B. had to pay a huge settlement to her first husband after their divorce.
I guess she rationalized..I had to pay once and if I meet a sucker (Eddie) he’s gonna pay me this time.

Khish, there is a strong possibility that Mel got pregnant so Eddie would not end their relationship. Since he probably took care of all her bills. But both of them should have use protection. You have to realize that their relationship was not a one night stand, or a fling, even if it was a rebound relationship as you say. Eddie was even quote as saying he was in love with Mel. But Eddie felt she was cheating on him so he didn’t know if the child was his. She went and had a Paternity test to prove Eddie was the father,and she was right. But Eddie still refuse to see Angel.
As for Phoenix’s father, Jimmy Gulzar. He is a former back up dancer for the Spice Girls. He is in her life as far I know. Mel and Jimmy had a court battle a few years ago when the spice girls were on tour. Jimmy didn’t want Phoenix traveling since he saw her a few days a week. When they divorce he fought mel for custody of Phoenix, but the court gave it to Mel. Jimmy is alleged to have stolen loads of money from Mel during their marriage. He also went to court for allegedly choking and spitting in Mel sister’s face while she went to pick up Phoenix. So don’t expect to see pictures of Jimmy Mel and phoenix all together .
With Angel’s hairstyle Mel could be trying to get Eddie’s attention. But maybe she just likes the look,she was name Scary Spice for her wild style.
Thanks for the info. I never knew a lot about this woman until they started talking about the case with Eddie. I am a fan of Eddie Murphy so that is why I even know anything about this woman. I thought that this was just a short relationship because I heard more and saw more pictures of Eddie with Babyface’s ex. And then heard the interview of Babyface who explained that Eddie and his wife had been a couple even before she and he divorced. I know that when I first heard about Mel it had already been rumored that Eddie was engaged so my focus was on the fiance and feeling that she was a gold digger, for lack of better words, since that’s the way she appeared with Babyface. I know that when I heard the Belefonte guy was marrying her that he had a reputation for domestic violence. As I said before, I knew nothing about Mel until she was getting test to prove the paternity of her child. Murphy seemed as though this was something that was not an involved affair for him. So just like the phony wedding, I assumed it was a rebound affair. Again thanks for bring me up to date.
@Khrish..as always you know the truth. Mel B. had been dating Stephen Belafonte since 2007 off and on so no wonder Eddie had doubts about Angel’s paternity. I’m a big Eddie Murphy fan too! I loved The Nutty Professor and Coming to America.
