Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson appeared on the Oprah show yesterday(October 12th) and spoke about his daughter Exodus’ tragic death. According to police reports, Exodus died from being strangled by a treadmill cord but Mike says he doesn’t really know what happened. Mike said that his first instinct was rage when he heard about his “little angel’s” death.

“I started off to go about this in the wrong direction,” he says. “But once I got there, I think from more of my experience in the rehab and all this, it just kicked in. Boom. It was all about being responsible. … She had to be buried. She had to be taken care of, and I have no animosity. I didn’t have anger toward anybody,” Mike said .

“And if there’s somebody to blame for it, there will be a problem,” Tyson said in reference to not wanting to know the details of his daughter’s death.

Tyson has six surviving children – eldest son D’Amato, daughter Mickey, 19, daughter Rayna, 13, and son Amir, 12, with his second ex-wife Monica Turner; Miguel with Xochitl; and nine-month-old Milan, his daughter with his new wife Kiki Spicer.

Kiki and Mike married a few days after Exodus’ passing.

“I reached a stage where I’m 43, and I’m just tired,” Tyson said about marrying Kiki. “I’m just tired of being alone and tired of not having that intimacy.”

I agree. This man is still a human being who lost his child. What a horrible time this must be for this family.

I still can’t fathom how she got strangled by a cord from a treadmill. “Not insinuating anything, mind you, but if just baffles me” …….

That was a really good but sad show that he did with Oprah. I felt really sorry for the things that he had endured in his life.

It is great to see how Mike has really matured recently. Whatever therapy or counseling he is receiving it is really working and I hope he continues to become a better person. My prayers and condolences to him and his family. May you continue to grow spiritually. Much love to you and family. GOD BLESS you all!

What a compelling interview that was. After viewing the documentary about Mike, I saw him in another light. Yeah, he’s done his dirt and he admits to it, however, I understand the “man” Mike Tyson now, not the “media” Mike Tyson. He was very open and frank about his life, yet he seems so shy.

My gosh, Exodus was such a beautiful child. My heart still aches for him, Exodus’ mother or anyone else who has lost a child.

BTW, his new baby is absolutely beautiful! What a baby doll she is. He really has some gorgeous children. His face lights up when he looks at them.

I wish you and your family the best, Mike. Keep you head up, brother.

Very tragic story. I saw the interview and Mike was very emotional. Unfortuntately it takes a tragic situation to turn someone’s life around but at least he’s making an effort to do so.

I can’t imagine what a loss of a child would do to a person. This interview is evidence that his strength goes beyond the ring. It takes a strong person to open up about the pain and hurt from the loss of a loved one. My prayers go out to him and his family.

Glad Mike is FINALLY finding peace.
I wonder what was different about Kiki that he married her, but didnt married Xochitl (Miguel & Exodus’s mom).

Mike went bankrupt a few years back. What is he doing now to support himself? He lives in AZ & that aint cheap. & u know all these ladies are demanding child support from him.

    I wish him well.

Just bc a personal files bankruptcy it does not mean they’re completely broke. There are so many different types of bankruptcy that you can file for. He probably still has money or probably hid money by putting his kids names on it over time before the court date.

But I agree that he seems to finally be finding peace.

Oprah had a really good interview with Mike Tyson. You can see that he has put in the work to become a better person. When he talked about his kids his face lit up and u could truly see how much he loves them and you could see and hear the pain from losing his little girl. I couldn’t imagine that type of pain.

I sympathize with Mike for his loss but I still don’t understand why he got married 10 days after her death. That still just shocks me. I am not a parent but I would think that if I were in his position I would have put the wedding on hold.

I totally agree. 10 days is just not enough time. I might be wrong but KiKi seems questionable.

That is so sad, my parents lost their first born son at three years old and they never talk about it. I learned about it from relative talking about about him.

I don’t know why some judgmental people think it is “questionable” that they married 10 days after Exodus’ death! It’s not like that had a big wedding! They just did their vows, just the two of them. They have a child together. Tragedy brings people together. I read she even refused him from getting her a ring because of the timing and that wasn’t important to her. Plus she’s know him since she was 15! Stop throwing stones when we all live in glass houses people. Mike and Kiki keep your heads up and your family strong! God bless you both!
