As previously speculated, model Heidi Klum and singer Seal welcomed their newest addition, a baby girl named Lou Sulola Samuel, on Oct. 9 in Los Angeles.

Singer Seal released the following statement to People.com:

“It’s difficult to imagine loving another child as much as you love your existing children,” Seal writes. “Anyone who has a family will tell you this. Where will one find that extra love? If you love your existing children with all of your heart, how then can one possibly find more heart with which to love another?”

“On Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at 7:46 p.m., the answer to this question came in the form of our fourth child and second daughter,” he continues. “Lou Sulola Samuel was born, and from the moment she looked into both of our eyes, it was endless love at first sight. She is beautiful beyond words and we are happy that she chose us to watch her grow over the coming years.”

Baby Lou Sulola joins siblings Johan, 2 ½, Henry, 4, and Leni, 5.

Leni and Lou..I like it. I love girls with unisex names, it may open some doors that may have been closed having a name that people think belong to a man.
Congrats Samuel-Klum family…I can’t wait to see her pictures!

Are you thinking that “Leni” is pronounced “Lenny” like Lenny Kravitz? Heidi said that it’s actually pronounced “Laney”

    Yea!!!
I see the appeal of a boys name for a girl. I am naming my Coco Tini Johnnie Simone. Johnnie was my Big Momma’s name and I love the strength behind a girl w/ a boys name!
    Lou is too cute!!

Congrats! Seal has always said he has no connection to his Nigerian roots bc he was adopted and raised in London. Has he reconnected w his roots? His sons & newborn daughter have Nigerian names. I love it!

Heidi is lucky to have Seal. They seem like a great family.
I hope too the kids have their german culture. Speak German & knwo the foods.

My mother was born in 1950 and her middle name is Lou and she hates it! I do not think that a girl born in 2009 will like the name Lou growing up. I do love SuLola, though! So maybe she will go by her middle name or a variation of it…Lola or LaLa.

    I also like Johan’s name!

heidi may actually start a trend with the name lou for a girl. i really don’t think lou will have an issue with her name at all. with all the different celebrity baby names these days……lou will fit in just fine.

think of all the men who named their baby girls “hunter”.

The name Lou may hold a special meaning to them for the child. Maybe someone in the family. I think the old names are nice. I have never understood the name “APPLE”. Would certainly like to know what is behind that one.

Cute names. I’m now how sure “Leni” is pronounced, but it is short for Helene. Maybe Heidi’s accent makes it sound like “Laney”.

Leni is an old German/Greek name, often used as a short term for Helena or Magdalena. It means the indulgent/good natured (die Gutmütige) or the shining (die Strahlende). Leni is pronounced “Laney”.

i really think to flat out say you “don’t like” a baby’s name is kinda rude. those comments should be kept to yourselves. just say congrats! thats all. apparently heidi and seal LOVE the name LOU so what else matters??

how about you post your names……..so we can judge. it’s a baby for God’s sake.

Completely agree! ‘The name Madison would be better’, what nonsense! You have not seen the child and will never know her or the people who love her personally. Who are people to say what is suitable for her? Damn!

Seal’s announcement is so beautiful! Almost made me cry. how lovely it is to be loved.
