According to to TMZ: Katherine tells TMZ Michael would never want his kids to appear on TV, much less on a reality show. She says her son went to great lengths to protect the kids from TV cameras, often shielding them with masks.

Are Michael Jackson’s three kids, Prince,12, Paris,11, and Blanket,7, set to star on a new reality series? According to sources, they are!
The Jacksons are at odds over the inclusion of Michael Jackson’s three children in an upcoming A&E reality show about the famous family. A source tells Us Weekly the buzzed-about program will include Michael’s kids — Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7 — though not everyone’s happy about it.
Eldest sister Rebbie, 59, who has refused to be in the series (called The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty, tentatively set to air in December), “feels Michael would spin in his grave if he knew his kids would be on this show.”
While Janet, 43, is on board, mom Katherine “is just going along with things,” the source continues.
“We have 23 cast members with the last name Jackson,” executive producer Jodi Gomes tells Us Weekly. “They’ve done a great job opening up about losing a brother.” (A Jackson family rep couldn’t be reached.)

We should all really be praying for these kids.
Their family should do what their father would have wanted for them and what is in their best interest - neither of which would involve being on a reality series!
These children have had complicated lives, and on top of that in the last few months they have gone from seclusion with their father, to fatherless and now in the public eye on TV???
In what way could this be the right decision for them???
I have mixed feelings about this. Prince and Blanket were to have been a part of the This Is It shows in London so MIchael was going to introduce his children to the world if he had lived; but only on stage. And Michael himself said in an interview that his kids were anxious to get out there and perform. But I don’t think he would approve of them being on a reality show with a TV camera in their faces following them around all day though.
The Jackson family knows that the only way they would get any serious ratings would be to include Michael’s kids. Rebbie is right, Michael would scream and spin in his grave if he know what was happening. The rumbling sound at Forest Lawn is not the cement truck; it’s Michael in his grave. But then again, what if his kids really want to be a part of the show? What if the family wasn’t forcing them? What if their opinion differs from dear old dad?
I have to admit I like seeing pictures of Michael’s kids so I would probably watch the show in December…

But, On their point of view I can see where there all coming from..and Rebbie is right about saying Mihael would spin in his grave if he knew what was happening!
But . . . , from the viewers point.. it just might have been the hottest show on earth.Who doesnt want to see The Jacksons?
I know I do but I also know that it would be sort of disrepescful to Michael’s wishes about keeping his childrens’ identity private
I’m on the fence. It depends on what type of reality show this will be. I have a feeling that it will be in good taste. Us MJ fans would love to see the kids. I don’t believe that the entire show should revolve around them.
Maybe the kids might be better off with Debbie…

She has been a constant in their life (constantly not there that is), She always shows her love (for money that is), and she is always there (for herself that is) You’re right, great mom! As a loyal long-time MJ-fan I know, that Michael wouldn’t like to see his kids on a reality tv-show at all! I don’t think, this is a good idea either. In the end it’s the kid’s decision. If they want to do it and are not pushed by anyone, okay …
I would have to agree with Rebbie on this one. Michael would not approve of this and tried his best to keep the kids out of the public spotlight when he was alive. They walked around and wore mask for most of their lives and were homeschooled to keep them out the limelight. Now, they are going private school (nothing wrong with that) and BCK has a pic of them out and about almost everyweek. The family should try to respect Mike’s wishes for a few years at least. Jackson family, please try find another way to make money. Don’t water down your brand by getting a reality show like everyone else.

As much as they have seen Janet working, you’d think that they wouldn’t even have to read about that. My goodness, she’s already making another film with Tyler Perry.
I’m torn. A part of me would like to see them and see how they interact with the rest of the family, but another part of me feels that would be exploiting them and we all know Michael would have NEVER wanted or approved of them doing the show.
I feel another “Those can’t possibly be his Kids” on the way. Honestly I have had my doubts and still do everytime I look at them but that dosen’t diminish the fact that he was a great artist and a unique person, and hopefully people will remember that..

It seems like it would be an interesting show but I don’t think Michael would agree with letting his kids be on tv. He worked so hard to keep them out of the limelight.
This is so sad. Michael did everything he could to shield his children from the spotlight and now the family wants to exploit them. Rebbie always seems to be the one amongst the Jackson family with common sense and they should listen to her. Katherine appears to just roll with the punches. I hope when she passes away Rebbie and their mother Debbie shares custody, I don’t trust the other family members who seem to care more for the cash than the well-being and privacy of these kids. Poor Michael.
I’m not surprised in the least. Michael would not be happy with his kids being on a reality show. I definitely agree with Rebbie on that one. I’ve seen plenty of people say that MJ’s death was good for the Jacksons because they’re money-hungry and want atention. Things like this only fuel those rumors.
I’m sure the children will have a say in their participation as well.

Janet is not even involved herself, so why would she be Ok with the kids being involved.

Everyone knows how people in reality shoes turn out Michael would have not wanted his kids on a reality show. But they want to make money by putting them on because people will watch if the kids are on bet Jermaine is behind this.

i think it a great idea, because we as fans forget that these people are human just as we are. so this can give everyone a chance to see that just because they are micheals kids, they are still children. micheal potrayed himself as a werd character from the begining so alot of people didnt ever have a chance to see that he was a normal man. just look at all the reality shows thats on the air today. they give you a better look inside there personal lives to see that they live just as we all do, trying to provider & raise kids. we all have problems in life & they might not be as big or small as the celebritys, but there PROBLEMS!

If it is true, I totally agree with Rebbie. Apparently she is the only one thinking about Michael. Mike’s kids need time to heal and a reality show right now won’t help.
Maybe in a few years when they are older, just leave the kids alone for now!

I agree with Rebbie. MJ went out on the limb to keep his children masked and out of the public eye, so I can imagine he is turning in his grave! The children look like they are doing just fine, and things should stay that way. It’s just too soon!

i dont think they’ll be one there since it’s more about michael’s brothers and not about his kids. Plus, they were planning to do a reality show before michael’s death, so… i dont think they’re tryin to get publicity off of his kids.
Leave these kids alone! Stop posting pictures and updates of them! Michael would have never in a million years wanted HIS children on some reality show being exploited just because of him being their father. He seemed like he wanted his children to follow their own dreams and live happy lives outside of what he has done in entertainment. I won’t watch this show if the kids appear on it. I don’t believe that the Jacksons could be alright with this either and I don’t believe any of his siblings want to exploit those children, their very own nephews and niece! Let them grow up sheltered and protected from the lights, God bless these poor children and every child on this earth.

Why are some of you criticizing Katherine? First of all,if the update at the top of the article is true(although TMZ is not the most reliable source),Katherine is in agreement with Rebbie,and has made it clear that Michael’s kids will not participate in the reality show.And second, if you recall,it was not her idea to push her family into showbiz in the first place.That was Joe Jackson’s idea.Katherine was not a stage mom then and she is not a stage mom now.In fact,she didn’t seem to be involved in the business aspect of things much at all.She always seemed content to stay in the background and focus on family life.And third,everybody knows how close Michael was to his mother.He obviously trusted her judgement enough to name her in the will as his children’s primary guardian in his absence.And anybody who has kids knows that choosing a surrogate guardian is something parents take very seriously.So all of us who are MJ fans and supporters should trust her judgement and trust that she will do what is best for her grandchildren.
He didn’t name her as primary guardian in his will. His will stated that Diana Ross should become their guardian if he were to die. Diana obviously did not want that responsibility.
Actually she was named primary guardian. Diana Ross was to take over ONLY if his mother could not raise the children for whatever reason.

It is so ironic that Michael Jackson would not have become the icon he remains to this day had his parents not exposed him to show business at the tender age of 5 or 6 years old.
When he was Blanket’s age, he had already done the Ed Sullivan show and was fielding interviews with reporters, etc.
It’s interesting the debate now over whether his children should receive media exposure.
Was it child abuse when it happened early on in the lives of Michael and his siblings? I think Janet turned out okay.
Actually, Michael was 11 years old when he appeared on the Ed Sullivan show. Let’s be honest. Michael loved show business and he loved the limelight. He basked in it. He made himself mysterious to keep himself in the press. If, however, there was a balance in his childhood with him having a loving father to guide him, instead of a rough, mean manager-dad, I think it would have made a huge difference.
You’re absolutely right, Kinreth. Michael started working in show business at the age of 6 and appeared on Ed Sullivan at age 11, which puts him at Paris’ present age when he did the Sullivan gig. Janet was younger when she started with the brothers.
Either way, by the time he was the age of his older children, he had spent half of his life in show business already and was dealing with adults in the entertainment industry, along with his minor aged siblings.

Most of the Reality Show was taped while MJ was alive. I don’t think he wanted to be apart of it (he was gonna do a cameo). It doesn’t seem like it’s gonna make the Jackson family look bad. They already have footage of all the other grandchildren that live in the Enico Home. They also have footage of Tito taking his grandson fishing. The new footage seems like it’s gonna focus on the brothers (Tito, Jackie and Marlon).
It doesn’t seem like Katherine wants to let cameras back in the house. If they do bring the cameras back on the compound and they show all the other grandchildren it would be hard to act like the other 3 kids don’t live their. They probably won’t be on the show and if we see them it will be walking around in the background.

Michael became the lead singer on the J5 at the age of 5. They had gigs all over the place. Imagine a 5 yr old kid while in kindergarden fronting a group like a professional. By the time he made his debut on Ed Sulivan you could say he was already a veteran.
When the Jackson 5 became big janet was just a baby. She was 3 yrs old. She made her first tv appearance with The Jackson , not the Jackson 5. They had already left Motown and were no longer the Jackson 5.

Thanks for the clarification. And the way you put it really brings to light what a hard worker Michael was during his lifetime. It’s just amazing to me the way he was so disciplined as a child in show business and the contrast of all the concern over exploitation of his kids now. He literally performed for 45 years or more!
It would have been nice had someone made Michael feel protected the way his kids are being protected now. God rest his precious soul!
Also Bee, I just wanted to add that I hope that when Katherine and other family members speak of their Dad (Michael) to his kids, that they are able to impart on them just how unique and strong their father was and how blessed they are.
I hope they learn to never take for granted all of the material things and the love that was left to them, because their Daddy worked hard and sweated a lot so that they will NEVER have to.
I love that Michael didn’t want to auction off three of his Rolls Royce cars because had he lived, he wanted to gift each of his kids with one of the cars as a wedding gift after they married. True, these are just material things, but it’s the love behind the gesture that counts with our families and our children

Where does the rumors come from??? I’m so glad they will NOT! It’s best and it will allow them to heal and breath and move on with their lives. Ask them in 9 years of 10 years if they want the spotlight.
