Find proof, honey cause i found this article on him and he claims to be African-American.

Last season, the 26-year-old Sabathia – maybe the best pitcher you haven’t heard of – was the only African American on the Cleveland Indians’ roster. Yesterday, after a typical uneven Spring Training start, he spoke out on baseball’s other dilemma – the dearth of black players. “It’s not just in here, it’s everywhere,” Sabathia said Wednesday. “It’s not just a problem — it’s a crisis.”

So, uhmm, CC must be lying about his ethnicity. Besides, didn’t u know that Dominicans have african roots?

He wasn’t quoted as being african american he was referred to as african american by the writer. Many hispanics are referred to as african american even though they aren’t. As a Puerto Rican I know that their are african american roots but that doesn’t diminish the fact that he is hispanic. Oh and by the way I am married to an African American man it is just irritating when people make assumptions.

Sorry that you are irritated. It’s just that CC has been referring himself as an African-American. I took the folloeing from wikepedia:

Stance on black players in MLB:
On March 14, 2007, Sabathia addressed ESPN, criticizing Major League Baseball for not doing more to make sure there are more African Americans in the game and that it was an on-going crisis.[21] Sabathia has urged Bud Selig to help endorse Little League Baseball in urban areas in an effort similar to that implemented by National Basketball Association Commissioner David Stern.

So, what shall we believe? The man claims to be African -Amercian and that he is french-creole….
