Sasha Obama here! I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving! But i am not sure if am looking forward to eating turkey this year. Let me tell you a little story.

So on November 25th, 2009 at my house(the White House), my daddy, the president of the United States, decided to pardon a turkey named “Courage”. Apparently, Presidential pardoning of a turkey has been a long time Thanksgiving tradition at the White House.

Anyway, so there was this turkey and then my dad’s friend asked, “Do you want to pet the turkey Sasha and Malia?” Pet a turkey? Who pets a turkey, i thought to myself.

Even my sister Malia,11, was little scared to pet the turkey, but she did. Yes, she did!

*Gulp* Then i had to pet the turkey, too. Why did i have to do that, dad? Where was my mommy during all of this?

Later on during the “Pardoning Event”, my dad gave a speech and said:

“Today I’m pleased to announce that thanks to the intervention of Malia and Sasha — because I was planning to eat this sucker — Courage will also be spared this terrible and delicious fate.”

I am not sure i am going to be eating turkey tomorrow. Hmm, maybe i can have some fried fish with french fries!

I mean, baked fish and baked potatoes, mommy!

LOL! Sasha’s face says it all! They both looked like they really were not trying to touch that turkey. And I can’t blame them.

Sasha is really giving that turkey a close inspection. I love the way she always seems to really check things out. Maybe Secret Service should take some lessons from her and party crashers will be more apparent.

OMG, they grow so fast. Malia is so tall. I guess that is to be expected with 2 super tall parents.
