I have no problem with him id’ying (is that a word?) with his other heritage. His mom is Asian. Maybe it would be too much like choosing one over the other. Don’t know if he is ashamed or not of his black heritage just because he included his other ethnicities?
But alas, Tiger didn’ make the world–and most of it will continue classifying him as black—as well as his children.

Is there a problem with being Black? Why do so many posters get so upset at having to be identified as Black. There are few, is any Americans that aren’t of many different heritages. Tiger Woods, just like our President, if stopped at night by nasty cops (without printed signs on them) will be treated just like the average Black American male (PROFILED) At least the president knows that and seems to have no problems with his blackness. Well that is because they were considered “mutts” because there were no papers offered by the AKC to legitimize them until some found out that they could make money off them by getting the AKC to accept them as a “special breed”. Even then, there is certain criteria that must be met before they can be classified as one of that group. Ergo, not all ethically mixed humans are classified as Black. There is certain criteria that some have met; as there are those who do pass. These rules, as you stated in your post, were set up by the “ruling class” and until someone else becomes the “ruling class” with a diffent system, this is the way they are going to stay. And all the ballot space boxes won’t change a thing except for the use of the “ruling class”. Whenever you check one of those boxes remember whites never claim any other ethnicity, ergo you are non-white to be assessed as usual. I don’t think that anyone on the post has asked that anyone else deny their heritage. I certainly don’t. It’s just the politics that is the debate. It seems that people find it so necessary to explain that they are a,b and c.;(as if all Americans aren’t)like it brings some extra status to the table. I think a lot more of the males of mixed heritage have learned this from experience and so they carry on less about it. I always resort to Chris Rock when he explains that as rich as HE is…..NO person of Anglo Saxon heritage, even the least of them, would change places with him. It’s known as “entitlement”and it’s too fragile to share.

Tiger embraces his Thai side as well as his African American side and he is absolutely right to do so, no one should reject/deny their mother and her culture and history just to make some strangers happy. Tiger spent many years visiting his relations in Thailnad when he was growing up and he literally has hundreds of relatives in Asia. he included Black so leave him alone. He was raised a Buddist like his mother and he was raised eating Thai food as well as soul food which his mother joked once that she had to learn how to cook southern food but it was too rich for her blood,,,we all know that’s true. Tiger well represents his people both Thai and Black well.

Hi Khrish, I’m on my way to work. I caught your comment and I did see what you were talking about on the TODAY show, Tiger with the other woman (they even showed a picture of the other woman). There goes the media again, zooming in on what a rich, popular Black celebrity has been caught doing.
I’m just so glad that Tiger did not retaliate if Elin hit him. He would have known then how a Black man feels waking up in jail. He would have known how OJ Simpson feels.

KHRISH..You are so right. I did see Gloria Allred on TV and Gloria’s attorney daughter , Lisa Bloom, commentatator. Lisa Bloom confirmed that when her Mom calls off press conferences this means that she was able to strike a deal which her client, Rachel, aka one of Eldrick’s women of ill repute, found acceptable. And it was reported to be possible at least a million dollars.

The person called 2muchsense who writes at this blog, blasted me about basically discussing the inheritance aspect of the MJ story. She was so offended. That’s what’s wrong with these women that write here. They forget that these people we’re talking about are super rich, millionaires and billionaires, and discussion about these people’s lives don’t always have to focus on how they look in the pictures. That’s why there is no outrage about Tiger.. none of the people writing here apparently can even comprehend the lifestyle he leads because of his wealth. The genus who could have helped him “Johnny Cochran” is dead. He was the savior for OJ because he knew his strength in law. He told me that he has a hard time sleeping in the same bed with somebody. He gave me the impression that he and his wife had separate rooms.

For goodness sake, they certainly must have realized what a catch their little girl had landed with Tiger. And he’s handsome too? Really! Khrish, I know. Everything you said as always so true and transparent, about the mother-in-law and her daughter. She came a long way from Sweden to get next to Tiger whether she was referred or not.
The Jamie Grubbs woman who sold her story to US magazine is the one who stated that Tiger told her about the separate bedrooms.
I agree with you that Tiger is handsome and his body looks like that of a perfect athletic specimen. His arms are magnificent. I still admire him, but someone along the way really screwed up his way of thinking about himself and others in terms of race and otherwise.
I hope he survives this just as Kobe Bryant survived his problems. At least no one is saying he raped them or got them pregnant.
He needs to get away from Elin if she is that crazy and hot tempered. He could have been dead or in a coma today.

Yeah, they are already calling him the new OJ. Can you believe that? You and I both know what that means, don’t we. One poster said they should look for guns. People are something else. Now he’s OJ to the ones who claimed they loved and respected him for his GOLF!. What has his personal life got to do with your respect for his perfect games of Golf. I’ve just read that it has gone up to 10 women! To be honest I think people are just jumping on the attention seeking bandwagon now. Although I am in complete agreement with the HIV test suggestion you made.
My take on this is he is an ass! Pure and simple. He’s obviously quite taken with himself and believes he is above others, especially Blacks. He lives in a world of White privilege and has obviously taken advantage of that. So it came back to bite him in the ass, oh well! Well deserved I’d say!
I have three issues with this situation. The first being how people are all for Elin taking half of what HE earned. People are actually saying she helped to create him and give him his clean image. Oh please he was Tiger before her and he will be Tiger after as well. Sure she deserves something, by all means support her and your children but she should not get HALF! Ridiculous! I would be more impressed with this world if more people would get of their butts and go out to make their own money instead of feeling so bloody entitled to take someone else’s.
My next grievance would be that after he stated what his ethnicities were people seemed to feel more comfortable with him being in the position he was in. In fact most people I spoke to always called him mixed and referred to the mixtures he had in him. However now that this has all blown up it’s funny how many people are just seeing him as Black. What? Black men are the only ones who cheat? Once again ridiculous and infuriating!
My third and last point is I’m annoyed with the fact that Elin got a get out of jail free card for beating him up! It’s not like she just smacked him around a little bit, she took a golf club to his head and he had to run for his life! Okay anyone else seeing the need for an anger management course? So while he’s cheating and she’s losing control and beating his ass who’s watching the children? Looks like the nanny needs a nanny to help maintain her household, just make sure she’s not Caucasian or the number will go up to 11!

When they fall they fall hard, don’t they? In the news this morning Barry Bonds’ 19 year old son was arrested in San Mateo for spitting in his White mother’s face and throwing a door knob at her.
So now we even get a glimpse into how some of these beloved mixed kids grow up, with privilege and all.

No, I don’t think that. I think that he was a man who used and paid a woman for sex and when the sex was over he wanted nothing else to do with her. Certainly she didn’t think they were going to cuddle? LOL He’s a man for goodness sake and he has the means to fulfill his desires when and whereever they arise. He’s just more fortunate than the rest. That’s another thing that makes me so very proud of President Obama. As handsome and brillant as he is, he cared for himself and his family. If there had been one trace of this kind of dirt in his life they would have found it and dragged it out for all the world to see, just to keep people from voting for him, never mind, as the news reveals everyday, they are themselves doing things that should have them removed from office. After all these years these hypocrits won’t even let Caroline Kennedy live in peace about what they accuse her father of doing with other women. This country, with all the filthy and vile things done by their “so called” leaders in the government and the ministry; still act like they live pristine lives and are so puritanical. It’s such a hypocrital society. THEY set up their standards for people who are in the spotlight, for whatever reason, force them into molds that they call role models, with no consent from the people. It’s not good enough to let them just do whatever it is they do and shine at that particular talent or gift. Then act so surprised when they find that these people are mere humans. Then march out the blame and punishment for these people who don’t live up to standards that were set up for them. Our country and its people need to really grow up. Whatever his shortcoming maybe, Tiger was never dubbed to sainthood. Albeit, that’s what his punishment commands.

Watching THE VIEW. Sometimes I think that Sherrie Sheppard is the most naive Black woman I have yet to listen to. I think that she was either born in another world or is just putting up a front to appear as naive as she does. Of course Elizabeth is concerned about his wife. LOL The least of my concern is his wife. She’s gonna do better than she ever imagined. That may sound cold, but Tiger is About as dumb as THE JUICE. Pisces, she is. He can’t seem to get enough of them Toya1. I remember back when he was getting so many endorsements they had to call him down because he was saying something vile about women. Can’t remember what he said. Someone on the other website noted that all of his women are white, and suggested that maybe he chose them because they have lower morals than Black women. I don’t know what that means. I do wonder why they keep trying to make his wife such a pure and naive little girl. While I don’t condone what Tiger did, my Lord, does it take all this. Basically, if you trace everyone’s ancestry back far enough, no matter where your roots are, you’re gonna find out at some point that everyone came from somewhere else. I completely believe that humanity is a single race. Ethnicity has more to do with sharing a language and cultural traits than ancestry, because eventually everyone traces back to the same place. Check out the ‘Out of Africa Theory’.
We all need to learn to respect and honor our heritages just as much as anyone else’s, or else the cycle of prejudice and injustice will continue to repeat itself.
