11-year-old Taylor Faye Ruffin stars in a new sitcom titled, “My Parents, My Sister and Me,” produced by actress, choreographer and Director Debbie Allen.

“My Parents, My Sister And Me  is a television show that details the life of a loving but unique family (The Goldmans). The Goldmans are unique because the family members come from different ethnic  backgrounds. The father is Jewish, and the mother is African- American. Both parents work as pilots for a local airline and each has a child from a previous marriage”

Taylor stars as the lead role of 10-year-old Tabatha, who is the daughter of Jasmine Guy, best known for her role as Whitley Gilbert in “A Different World.”

Check out pictures of Taylor and other cast members below. The pictures are courtesy of TV host, Tami(click here for more pics).

Is Tabitha (the character) OR Taylor the daughter of Jasmine Guy? I’m confused.

Taylor is Jasmine Guy’s daughter. Taylor plays the character, “Tabitha”.

She is cute! Is she related in any way to the late David Ruffin of the Temptations?

Cute girl. But, the show doesn’t look all too great.

SHE IS JASMINE GUYS DAUGHTER ON THE SHOW ONLY… NOT HER BIOLOGICAL DAUGHTER!

A Brady Brunch update of sorts (BB was an early watered down take on blended family)…suppose this one is tweaked for the milinneum—blended families, re-marriages, step kids, different racial/ethnic backgrounds are becoming increasingly commonplace. Interesting and timely I suppose. Cute kid and nice to hear Ms. Guy back on the small screen.

Pretty girl! At first glance, I thought she was Kimora’s oldest daughter.

I think I’ll check this show out. Interesting concept.

Oh Gawd, you are funny. he he.hmmm….

When you get lemons, make lemonade–that is what Kwanza represents. This “phoney” dude thunk up something along the lines– My ancestors culture lost to me, so why not start my own traditions and base them on some fantabulous principals.

That phrase, “black don’t crack” is a lie. Jasmine Guy has not aged well. It’s good to see her back though. That old guy is the cook from A different world too. A mini reunion of sorts.

so what she is half black. Black is black. we don’t care about the other half

My comment was made regarding the “black don’t crack comment.” I for one think that black women age beautifully (with the exception of when they’ve lived a hard life, as it often shows on their faces). When the poster commented that “black don’t crack” was a lie, I was simply suggesting that she might not have aged as beautifully because she is only half black.

You chose to see it as something negative when it wasn’t intended to be.

to the person that said that she is half black, stop trying to discredit black people.
black woman are often imitated, but never duplicated.

that child is black and she got a perm ok

I mentioned that she was hlaf black because of the “black don’t crack comment.” You seem to have taken that as something negative when it wasn’t intended to be.

I wasn’t talking about the CHILD. Read the comment I was responding to. We were referring to Jasmine Guy.

Cute girl. At first, I thought she was going to be related to David Ruffin from the Temptations. Looks to be an interesting show. Glad to see Jasmine Guy back on the screen. Did anyone else notice that the man who played Mr. Gaines (Lou Meyers) from “A Different World,” is in the show as well? Nice reunion for him and Jasmine. I might have to check it out because Lord knows I love my little corny shows (lol).

I love Debbie Allen, but this show looks awful based on the little snippet above. I like the idea of a modern day blended family and I loved the episode of That’s So Raven that Debbie directed (and wrote I believe) so I’ll give it a shot.

I wish they would have had a full black woman as the lead, i love whitley and all, but just to add more darker complexions to the screen!

but glad they chose a dark skin grandfather

Little girl is gorgeous (and from what I’ve seen not a half-bad actress) and I am happy to see Jasmine Guy working again. But, the show looks like it will be cheesy, the typical low-quality sit-com stuff. I hope the show is targeted towards children — because then it might have a better chance with that demographic.

To all the white people viewing this site. Please know that black people come in many different shades.

Because someone is black, with light skin and long hair does not mean they are half black. I described myself and my parents are both black, brown skin people. And no I am not adopted..

I am so sick of white people thinking that everytime that see a beautiful black person that they are mixed. NOT! Black people are beautiful period!

Same here–I like Jasmine, BUT I like Robin lots too. Oh well, tv, movies, music biz–all fickle. I think Jasmine might have had more of a comedic edge than Robin.
