JADEN SMITH IS THE KARATE KID
Impressive! For the past few months, Jaden Smith,11, has been training for his first leading role in a major film.
“I trained every day for four months with Master Wu [the film's fight coordinator],” Jaden, 11, tells People as he takes on his first leading role as an American boy named Dre Parker who moves to China. “We did a lot of stretching.”
Jaden’s martial arts master in the film will be played by actor Jackie Chan.
Jaden: “Jackie taught me to ask, ‘My left or camera left?’” said Jaden on learning the important directions of acting in front of the movie camera. “That helped.”
Jackie Chan: “Jaden had a lot of respect for me as his teacher, even off the set.” “He is professional as many adult actors who have been in the business for years.”
“His dad told me that Jaden had changed,” added Chan. “When he takes his shoes off, he doesn’t throw them in the corner, but puts them away neatly!”
The remake of the Karate Kid will come out on June 11, 2010.
Actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith must be proud of their little boy.

I think Jaden looks so much like Will in the picture with Jaden and Jackie on the Great Wall (I believe that is the GW).
I am not sure how I feel about the KK remake; I enjoyed the original (1 & 2 versions with Ralph Macchio sp?)and usually remakes are not so good.
I’ll wait until the trailer comes out to decide, but either way it looks like Jaden worked really hard(from the pics) and I hope the movie does well.

what Jaden is doing in the third picture is called a “Horse Stance” it is very hard to maintain in that position, but it’s excellent in strengthening the legs and is used as a fighting stance. very proud of Jaden, he is a good little actor who seems to be taking his career very seriously. i hope his movie does well.

Man, Jaden has grown. He is such a cute little guy. He looks just like Jada. I think this movie is going to be fun for the children as well as the “older children” like myself. The parents couldn’t have named their children better! I love that commercial he does for McDonalds.

I was late saw the movie last night. It was great. Jaden looks just like his dad and I think he will be a great actor. I’m so glad he did his own stunts and is taking martial arts serious. I wish some of that would rub off on Willow (she’s lost AND SO JEALOUS). I think she should just work on being a little girl. Tre looks funny since he’s getting older her use to be so fine. Will & JADEN LOOK GREAT OUT OF THE BUNCH.
