Rapper Nelly took daughter Chanell Haynes,15, to his fourth annual Black & White Ball on December 6, 2009 in St Louis, Missouri. Nelly’s son Cornell Haynes III, born 2nd March 1999, did not attend the event.
The Black and White Ball is an event that raises money for a scholarship program at Lindenwood University. At this year’s event, two scholarship recipients received 4-year full-tuition scholarships/grants to Lindenwood University.

Gosh! How old is Nelly. I thought he was in his mid twenties. I never would have thought he had a daughter in her teens. He must look young for his age.

NELLY IS A SAINT LOUIE BOY. GOT TO BE SOME OF THE BEST MEN IN THE COUNTRY IF A GIRL CAN FIND ONE. THEY ARE FAMILY ORIENTED. REALLY LOVE THEIR CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY THEIR GIRLIES. I RECALL MY DAD AND MOM FALLING IN AND OUT OF LOVE WITH EACH OTHER, BUT NEVER WAS HE OUT OF US KID’S LIVES. I CAN NOT REMEMBER HIM BEING ABSENT FROM OUR LIVES. HE WOULD COME BY JUST TO TAKE US FOR A RIDE, OR JUST ON OUTTINGS FOR QUALITY TIME. I WILL NEVER FORGET IT. SO, IT IS NO SURPRISE TO ME THAT NELLY IS SPENDING QUALITY TIME WITH HIS CHILD.
I’m thinking he’s making me feel real old with a 15 yr old and my daughter is only 2 years younger so I’m just old LOL!! Scary and people think we’re siblings and not mother daughter too.

I went to Lindenwood University for both undergraduate and Graduate school back in ‘05. I think that what nelly is doing is great for the St. Louis “inner” city.
