WHITNEY HOUSTON: I ALLOW BOBBI TO SAY WHAT IS ON HER MIND
Singer Whitney Houston is featured in the latest issue of Instyle magazine. In the issue, the career mom speaks about her return to the music industry, among other interesting topics. In addition, the Grammy award-winning singer talks about the differences and similarities between her and her daughter Bobbi Kristina,16.
“It’s funny because her body is mine, her skin color is mine, but she says exactly what’s on her mind, so she’s like her father in that manner. These kids, man, they come out and just let you know right off. But I think it’s a very important thing to allow our children to express themselves so it won’t be expressed in other areas, like on the street,” Whitney said.
“If she’s angry, I allow her to say, ‘Damn! I’m so frustrated today!’ We have our moments when we clash, but we have a good relationship. I want her to count on me to try to understand what she’s going through. No damnation, no condemnation, nothing that’s going to make her feel like she can’t come to me.”

It’s great that Whitney and Bobbi have a wonderful relationship, and that she allows her daughter to have her own identity and express herself. Hopefully Bobbi K is RESPECTFUL when doing so.

My thoughts exactly!!!! I hope that she still remember that Whitney is the mom. to many kids these days are not respecting mommy and mommy is sister or friend.

Why is it when a mother and daughter have an open relationship, people have to throw in that “sister or friend”? You can have a very open relationship with your daughter where she is allow to express what’s on her mind without jeopardizing the leadership role of being the mother. It’s unfortunate that so many mothers have not learn how to master that.

i think this relationship is cause-and-effect, seeing that bobbi was once the most sober person in the household, she might kinda feel she has the upper hand now

It is nice to see that Bobbi Kristina is so happy and well adjusted. She went through a lot as a child and now that she is coming into her womanhood she is just a beautiful young lady. She does look like her father a lot. She is a beautiful combination of both Whitney and Bobby Brown. I wish them well and I hope Bobbi Kristina remains strong and stays away from the demons that haunted her mother and father. I wish them well.
