BECOME A MENTOR FOR NATIONAL CARES MENTORING MOVEMENT

mentoringWhat: National Cares Mentoring Movement

Who: You could be a mentor!

National CARES Mentoring Movement has one purpose: to end the state of emergency in Black America by connecting you and other caring adults in your network to the mentoring opportunities presently in your community. We are launching the largest mentor-recruitment effort in the nation to fill the pipelines of the thousands of organizations that are already serving disproportionate numbers of Black children who are desperately waiting for mentors. Our caring White sisters and Brothers are more fully engaged in mentoring Black children than able Black adults are. Now we must step up.NCMM

When it comes to mentoring i don’t think many people know what goes into it. You hear people talk aboout mentoring but no one shows you what it takes to be a mentor. It may seem simple but some people may think the person that’s doing the mentoring has to be educated or a professional of some kind. Who qualify to be a mentor and who should be mentored?
I’ve never been mentored and i don’t know anyone who has been even though i heard mentoring could affect a child’s life in positive ways.

You are so right. You don’t have to be formally educated because everyone has something that they can offer and there are so many different aspects of life that are needed by different children. Since you have done it, perhaps it may be an experience for you to give it a try. You never know what you have that you don’t think is special, but will be a godsend for another young person. You never know what you can do until you try. It may not be for you and then again it may be something that will give you satisfaction. Helping someone else is always good for the other person as well. Try it. Sign up in your area.

That is so nice of you, Khrish. You seem perfectly suited to mentor (I’m sure you have and do already because you have shared that you’ve taught).

We both know that not many more who read and write at this site will be signing up, and from some of their overall beliefs and comments about the Black race, marriage, the virtues of young people choosing singing over other professions, etc, it is probably for the better that they don’t sign up.

I saw an interesting article at another site comparing Tiger Woods to the past “one drop” legal case of Susie Phipps. More of the would be race baiters that provoke at this site should familiarize themselves with this real life case by googling it.

For a lot of those on the sight that worry about hair texture; It’s reported that the Aussies have found the DNA for hair texture and are in the process of creating a pill that will go away with our curls.LOL…..Can you imagine that? What a crock. With Cancer, HIV and so many other diseases that kill people, I wish they had spent that time on cures for one of those. But I’m certain that they have been reading and watching and know that they can make lots and lots of money with this one.

Khrish, you are so funny and sardonic! I love it. I’m cracking up over here. You’re right I forget how much we talk about hair and skin at this site. Thanks for reminding me and thanks for the new info about the Aussie invention/cure. I’m gone run out and git me some of dat! (NOT) ;)
