KEYSHIA COLE: I WANT TO CREATE A PEACEFUL HOME FOR MY CHILD
Keyshia Cole, who is due to have her first child in March of this year, wants to provide a peaceful environment for her soon-to-be born child. As such, the mom-to-be has severed all ties between her and her immediate family members. Below is A statement issued by the singer’s publicist:
“To all my friends and fans – It’s time that I clear the air. It’s not a secret that I haven’t been in contact with my mother Frankie, and my sisters Neffe and Elite and I never wanted to air out our differences to the public. While I won’t go into detail here I find it necessary to let you guys know I decided to stop communication with them because I was at a point in my life where I needed serenity and peace to move forward. Please know I love my family very much but it was time to let it go. You guys are a witness to a lot of what was happening from watching on air and online.
Now that I am becoming a mom my passion for having a loving and peaceful home for my child is my #1 priority. It’s very important to both Daniel and I. My plate is very full; I have a new baby coming, we are planning our wedding and I am working in the studio on a new album that I am close to completing. The stress that my family is giving me with their constant false reports is not healthy and it’s not what I need at this time in my life. Please understand that there are only a few people that can officially confirm or deny anything that’s happening in my life and that’s me, Daniel, and my publicist, Tresa Sanders. And my girl Monica never lies.

Keisha, that is the best thing that you could ever do for your new family, especially your child. When there is dysfunction in the family and you remain in that environment it is very easy to become the same way, (learned behavior) and children will pick up things quick and they retain things that they hear and they will repeat them and embarrass you. For your family, the dysfunction is generational..everyone has the same mentality and no one really wants to be accountable. You have done the right thing and as far as what the media gets a hold of..I would not worry much about that either because the world watches and sees what you have had to live and deal with. Don’t feel bad about wanting better for yourself or your child…something would be wrong if you didn’t. You have done more than enough for all of them and now they need to learn to stand on their own feet. Keep moving forward and pray for them daily.

I am so happy for you and your new baby and hubby to be. i think this is such a wonderful time in your life, and i feel you have done the right/best thing for your new family. Your baby boy only has you and his father to proctect him in order for him to grow in a nurturing environment.

Kiesha,you remind me so much of my niece,an I know God will watch over you, but know this you can not save the world, this was told to me, like you I tried to be there for my mother, my niece’s an honey it will take a toll on you an drain you,God has blessed you with your own family,like you I have been raised by another an I had to let it go the more I did the damage an toll it took on me,this child will need not material things,the positive things in your life,I have a son like you an he turned out fine we don’t talk to my real moms side of the family an it is less stress,an I need this for awhile I felt like the atm an now I know that the battle is not mine I try to listen to Yolanda Adams when it becomes to hard, you have to let people live there life they are grown an you owe them nothing an its hard because you keep saying if I could just fix it, I watched you’r show an I knew it was not going to work the way you want’ed it to I been there done that an always in the end you get hurt, I pray that you get to read this live life an love it like it is your last everyday.
