Singer Melanie Brown has big plans for 2010. The mom of two says that she and her husband Stephen Belafonte “definitely want to have kids at some point in 2010 or the beginning of 2011, because this year’s going to be pretty busy.”

The former Spice Girl and her family now live in a six-bedroom house in Los Angeles.

“One reason we wanted to move house was because we want to extend the family. Plus, we wanted Phoenix to have more of a stable home life. Her school’s close by,” Mel revealed to Hello magazine.

She added, “Stephen has twins in his family and I would love to have twins. I think there’s something nice about having two babies, and they’re there for each other their whole entire life.”

“That would be ideal for me. But just one healthy baby would be more than fine. That’s all you can wish for.”

Mel’s older daughter Phoenix Chi is now ten years old and Angel is now three. Stephen’s daughter Giselle, 5, from a past relationship, spends her weekends with the family.

I hope that have as many kids as they want. The kids are adorable!!!

And yes I am going to make a hair comment! I wish they would not have cut that little girl hair off without her having a say in it. I think the parents should have wated until she was older and could make a sound decision for herself.

Anyways, great fam, I wish them the very best in having more kids together.

I cracked up at your comment because that’s EXACTLY what she looks like with that hair. I wonder if something happened that made Mel cut her hair but why only the sides and back? Now they straightened it for some strange reason.
Oh and look at the old people in the background, it looks like they are having a convo about the hair. Lol

It’s a little annoying when people hope for twins like they are some sort of novelty item or any more special than anyone else. I have twins and they are healthy, adorable and wonderful, but they aren’t any more fun or more of a blessing than our other children. Also, there is no guarantee twins will be close just because they were “womb mates”. My mother is a twin and her twin is something else!

I wish Mel B didn’t mess Angel’s hair up like that she is still a child let her decide when she is about 16 if she wants a mohawk.

I find genetics so fascinating! You look at Nahla, whi is 1/4 black but clearly looks biracial compared to Stephen’s daughter Giselle, who is also 1/4 black but could easily pass as an average white little girl. This is a beautiful family.

@Keepin’ it real….excellent point you made about genetics.
This is one of the biggest reasons why I dont understand why folks dont think that Michael Jackson is the biological father of his kids!
      Genetics make it very possible!

All a part of the African Diaspora. Look at Madonna’s natural daughter, she is half white but looks exactly like her Cuban father…genetics!!! Fascinating stuff.

She the parent and can do what she want with her childs hair. I havent met one mother who have asked her 2 year old what she wants to do with her hair. Plus we dont know why she cut her hair. my niece got an infecting from a sand box and it mad her hair fall out in patches my mom shave her side and to and we joke that she was our little rock star and till it grow out. But even with out reason she can do what ever she want to her child hair cause it her child. Why are black women so hung up on hair that all you talk about. And I am black… I just wish for once on theses blog everyone wasnt all about hair because there more to a black person than how their hair looks.

OMG, WHO CARES ABOUT HER HAIR!!!!!!

That’s what parents do they make decisions for their child based on what THEY like. When the child gets older, then they make their own decisions. I bet all you complaining about all that “let her decide” bs have little girls with pierced ears and circumcised little boys (things that don’t grow back like hair, mind you). Yes it looks ridiculous but she ain’t mine!

i believe some people make much out of twins because they are not used to seeing them or being around them often if at all. i agree, twins just come in two’s but most of the time they have a companion. that is something most individuals do not have.
