GARCELLE BEAUVAIS CONCERN ABOUT FAMILY ABROAD
Haitian-born actress Garcelle Beauvais has been unable to reach her relatives since the disastrous earthquake in Haiti.
“We have family we haven’t been able to contact… cousins… We have no contact. We spoke (sic) to my brother-in-law through e-mail yesterday. We got an e-mail and he was in the car. He said it sounded like a bomb went off. It was just that loud.”
As a mom of three, images of dead babies in the aftermath of the quake has been rather troubling to the star.
“It’s really hard to take. It’s really hard to watch. I mean, seeing the one picture of the baby covered (under the rubble), because they couldn’t get to it… Those are my people. Those faces are my family. The worst is not knowing.”
She added, “You have (to question faith), in a way, you do. I mean, you don’t understand, especially a place like Haiti. We’ve been hit so hard by lots – why would this happen? I don’t know. This is the country that deserves this the least – not that anybody deserves it. But we are resilient and we are proud. Even if we have nothing, we are very, very proud. It’s unfortunate. It’s devastating.”
Garcelle is begging everyone to do what he or she can to help out.
“I want people to give anything they can. I know it is tough times for the United States. But give anything, Red Cross, Oxfam. Anything you can do would really be helpful.”

I have donated, and I hope others do as well. Even $1, $5, whatever, every little bit helps.
That said, I didn’t know she was Haitian. I hope she does more than just speaking about it.
Honestly, with the easy money these Haitian celebrities come into, I would think Haiti wouldn’t be in such a horrible state.
I saw a photo of the Palace in Haiti, and all I could think of what what the hell? And most of the population is dirt poor, but so much money is being put into this huge palace? Serious??
I hope the money is given to those who need it, and the LAST thing they do is rebuild that mansion.

Don’t question FAITH everything happens for a reason because GOD is too wise to make a mistake. This only shows that we are in the end times Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and EARTHQUAKES, in divers places.Anything can happen so we need to get it RIGHT because tomorrow is not promised to anyone but we ought not to fear because GOD has not given us the spirit of fear but of LOVE,POWER, and SOUND MIND.

…Or Haiti lies on a fault line and that unfortunately means it will have to deal with earthquakes from time to time. The people of Haiti will get through this with inner strength and the help of the international community…

People will not admit that God is coming soon. The signs have been here for years and years. We all need to get our act together. Trust and have Faith that he will see the people thru. The earthquake hit the RICH & the POOR. The Diaster didn’t pick who it was going to hit.
We just ned to be grateful that it wasn’t us.

I’m now a senior citizen and retired from my job. My grandmother told me when I was a pre-schooler that things were happening then because “God is coming soon”. As I remember when I did go to church was that it was written: We will not know the day nor hour. Yes, I do agree that this is a most tragic event and we all must help in any way that we can, but I don’t see it as a prophecy.

A Red Cross representative stated that there will be a need for blood donations. I immediately called my local Red Cross and was informed that a public announcement will be made when the time comes.
I intend to be one of the first in line. This will be an important contribution, eventually, due to the epidemic HIV contamination of blood in Haiti.

My heart goes out to the people of Haiti. What faith is she questioning? Haiti, is not a Christian nation.
This tragedy is an opportunity for Christians to demonstrate the Love Of Christ through giving and out reach. The missionaries will be able to offer them hope, by introducing Christ to those who don’t
know him.
Let’s lift them up in prayer daily!

Haiti is about 80% Catholic..which is a denomination of Christianity…

Theres a saying that goes…Catholics are Christians, but Christians aren’t Catholic. Truth might be one of the many Christians who don’t consider Catholics to be Christian.
FYI to anyone that sees this…I know that alot of people are texting donations (I did this myself) but I just read that it is better to donate via credit card. Money will get there faster.

I agree, i don’t know how true that is about a majority of them being catholic is . I have never heard that. What i have heard is that there is much witchcraft, voodoo, witch doctors etc. and a pact made with satan many years ago which would make sense that the nation is cursed. When people turn from God His hand of protection is removed from them. Sad but true it has happened many times in the bible. Hopefully through this tragedy many souls may be saved. I know that Dominican republic which neighbors haiti is prodominately catholic and they were saved. End times.

People also used God to justify slavery–many “christians” owned slaves here in the U.S. Have you ever heard of the people of Ham–nubian people were once theorized to be the descendants…
Flag this
The whole curse of Ham mythology was invented by Gentile rabbis who are faking being Abraham’s descendants. They even put this trash in the Talmud. The funny reality is that ALL of Noah’s sons were BLACK! Ham, Shem & Japheth. In all likelihood, the Haitians are the children of Shem. They are descendants of the Israelites of West Africa.. Igbo and some others. Black skin is never a curse but a blessing.. why do you think that the blackest people on earth tend to be found on the continent with THE MOST resources and mineral wealth?? Hmmm…. that is what we were made for- that type of climate & that wonderful environment. You can’t thrive there without Melanin.. unless you use artificial means like air conditioning, etc.
The only curse of being black is living in a system of racism-white supremacy.

I agree, i don’t know how true that is about a majority of them being catholic is . I have never heard that. ((( Because those who control the media that programs you will NEVER tell you the truth about African in the diaspora))) What i have heard is that there is much witchcraft, voodoo, witch doctors etc. and a pact made with satan many years ago <<<MORE LIES BY THE WHITE SURPEMACISTS!!)) which would make sense that the nation is cursed.<<IF YOU BELIEVE THE BS. THAT WHITE PEOPLE SELL TO YOU.. how much SATANISM, SEXUAL PERVERSION, WHOREDOM & WICKEDNESS is there in the USA & EUROPE? SATANISM & OCCULTISM have been in the White House forever.. they were ENSLAVING & RAPING black women AS PRESIDENTS.. SELLING ISRAELITE PEOPLE AS SLAVES!!!! IT would make SENSE if America fell into the Ocean after being pounded with Asteroids, but I don’t hear black people indoctrinated with Christianity preaching that.. I hear this “God Bless America” fantasy. America is NOT BLESSED!!
When people turn from God ( WHOSE GOD??? WHITE PEOPLE’S CONTRIVED GOD? They DON’T serve the god of the Israelites.. if they did, they would NOT be treating his people the way that they do) His hand ( NOT YHWH’s) of protection is removed from them. (( So why have the wicked white nations not been pounded to the ground for killing HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF AFRICAN PEOPLES? For slaughtering MILLIONS of American Indians? Are you telling me that his hand of protection is on the extremely wicked, but removed from everyone else??))
Sad but true it has happened many times in the bible. Hopefully through this tragedy many souls may be saved.(( HOPEFULLY, the system of racism, white supremacy will be replaced with a system of justice & black people will cease submitting to religious indoctrination from their conquerors- CATHOLOCISM & Christianity have YET TO free black people from abuse, mistreatment and Racism/ Oppression by whites and poverty- so much for being “SAVED” it didn’t save them from slavery either.
I know that Dominican republic which neighbors haiti is prodominately catholic and they were saved.( SAVED FROM WHAT!!???? Do you know how RAMPANT prostitution is in the Dominican Republic? It is completely ILLOGICAL for any African to be a Christian or Muslim- BOTH were used to enslave and oppress you. Both prevent LOGICAL THINKING.

HELLOOOO… ARE YOU DRINKING PAT ROBERTSON’S KOOL-AID? Me thinks so!!
80% of Haitians have unfortunately kept the religion of those who enslaved them and are still looking for “WHITE JESUS” to rescue them.
Seeing that 80% of Haitians are already SUBJECTED to the European’s religion of Christianity- NO HEBREW MAN FOUNDED THE CATHOLIC CHURCH or Christiainity- almost ALL of its doctrines are AGAINST THE LAWS, and commandments of the god of Ysrael…. anyhoo ,seeing that 80% of them are ALREADY subjected to the European’s religion, but only 40% of white people in Europe go to church, WHY ON EARTH do they keep flooding black countries with white “Christian” missionaries? Who is left to convert and why aren’t they trying to make good Christians out of all of those godless heathens in Europe?
It is about CONTROLLING and subjugating black people in particular ( along with all other non whites) by using RELIGION.. when your god and your oppressor look alike, you will be spiritually schizophrenic. Contrary to the indoctrination by those who enslaved us & indoctrinated us with black inferiority/ white supremacy, WE WERE NOT HEATHENS who needed to be “saved”- SO many of your ancestors were ISREALITES… who migrated into Africa through the centuries. They had kingdoms in Africa. The European missionaries to the Igbo people in Nigeria knew that they were Hebrews- and they attempted to hide this from them, so that they could colonize them by use of Christianity. No true Hebrew with knowledge of their god would have converted to that Gentile religion.
I don’t believe that Haitians were worshiping the European’s god when they banged the crap out of the French & drove them out. They prayed to their god, whom they knew couldn’t be the god of their wicked oppressors! That is where the prayer came from that the white people like Pat Robertson lied & told you was a “pack with the Devil” came from. Haitians KNOWING that a god that backed wicked people like the French oppressors, COULDN’T be their god.

We as americans also have to be careful. America elected Obama the most radical pro abortion president in history. Obama has stated America is not a Christian nation. We have to be careful and pray God changes his heart. His healthcare agenda means taxpayers will be funding abortions ridiculous. God speaks about the shedding of innocent blood(abortion) and as a nation God will also judge us for electing him and being silent while this happens!!

This ISN’T a Christian nation. Like President Obama said, this is a nation of MANY religions. The majority of us are Christian, so in that sense one could call us a Christian nation, but that is not what our president meant. I think that you misinterpreted what he said…or maybe I did?

America was set up as a land for freedom of religon. To worship or not. I wish that people would leave it that way and stop trying to turn it into Christian Nation. I have had my feel of what others say that the President has said. Most of what they know that the President has said has been passed on by other people who want to be able to force people to accept their religion and do what they tell them to do. My knowledge still tells me that America functions on the basis of separation of church and state and some keep trying to change that. President Obama is not radical unless you don’t understand the definition of Radical. I am a liberal American and he is certainly right of me. As far as abortion is concerned that is a law decided by the supreme court and not a matter of religion. If we could all realize that when we do die and if there is someone you will have to answer to; you will only be asked about what you did, not what someone else did. It is so simple…..If you don’t believe you should have an abortion…..don’t have one and allow others to have the same right of choice that you do. Even God gave us “free will”.

How did this thread turn into a who is cursed and on Obama?
We live in a world where tragedies happen. It has nothing to do with who is Christian or not. I do beleive we are living in the end times but Jesus himself said “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
@Jae does everyone who gets cancer, raped or murdered turn their back on God or made a pact with the devil?
You want to talk about Obama and the healthcare bill. What about the HUNDREDS of years America enslaved human beings? Then freed them to keep them inservatude. America still hasn’t paid the 40 acres and a mule. How about the small pox blankets to Native Americans? I can name plenty of other examples.
So Jae, you don’t have an abortion but you kill with your lips and you lie and gossip. Your sin is no different.
FYI I don’t believe in abortion but the pro-birth (aka pro-life) movement has DIRTY hands as well.
Just help the people of Haiti. Love your neighboor as youself. That is true Christianity!

The forefathers/writers of the U.S. Constitution started the nation out as a “In God We Trust” (see dollar bill)nation, with the word “God” invoked throughout the Constitution.
I agree that we have evolved into a country whose citizens practice and believe in a multitude of religions.

You are correct Khrish. The Founding fathers ( I kinda made a mistake referring to them as forefathers, however since they were slave owners and impregnated slaves, forefather fits) lived in a time when people believed in the Creationism…Darwin didn’t exist yet, so Divine intervention was the expanation for everything.
Thank you for catching my error here and I am also surprised that you did not mention that the word God is used in the preamble of the Constitution not the Constitution itself.
Your point is well taken and duly noted as I googled to check out if your correction was accurate. The implication is that the Founding fathers considered religion in the writing of the document.
The fact that the word God is not literally used in the Constitution is very important for atheist.
Anyway, President Obama is the expert in Constitutional law, not me and I use the se facts to show that he understood from a historical perspective that the U.S. was not founded on the notion of being a Christian nation and that it was the intent of the Constitution to ensure American citizens the freedom of religion.
That’s all Khrish. And you see Commander Khrish, I know how to follow orders of my superiors and I checked my history as you ordered.
Statistically, I believe the U.S. is predominantly a society with Christianity as the dominant ly practiced religion. I’ll try to provide the stats for that if you require them Khrish.

Addendum…though the words “God” and “slavery” are not used in the Constitution, the concept of them is there in the document. I think this is what confuses people. Sorry for the typos in my previous comment.

What “god” were they speaking of? Most of them were Freemasons.. if you read Albert Pike in the book Morals and Dogma… he makes it clear that the god of the Freemason is LUCIFER. This is revealed at the initiation into the 33rd degree.. as long as you say you don’t believe in Jesus. You can say “I believe in Yahushua” and that’s fine, because they know that you know more than the brainwashed masses.. but yep, if you have a modicum of understanding of the Most High that Yahushua, Moses & Abraham served, you can’t possibly fall for the hoax that YHWH is the God of this abominable & wicked government or of those who founded it. Especially as a black person. unless you are a victim of Mentacide..and tragically, many of us are.

@Jae,
You are 100% absolutely correct. First AA president or not,God is not a respector of persons. America was founded on Christian principals, in which, it has deviated from. All are going to be held accountable for the choices we make.
This is an opportunity for Mr. Obama to ALLOW the HOLY SPIRIT to use him as an agent of change. He confesses to be a Christian, so he should use his status to steer America back to its Christian roots, but he isn’t. You didn’t misinterpret what he mean’t. During the election it was quoted that 85% of americans labeled themselves as christian (that’s the majority). America is a christian nation – other culturals or religions that migrate here may not be.
Flag this
Nobody polled me. and remember is your poll listing rated on how many people they polled. If they polled to and 2 are not Christians then they have 80% who are. I don’t think that religion had anything to do with this terrible earthquake that happened in Haiti and I am just hoping that the little bit I chipped in will help somebody. This is just so so sad.

President Obama is the President of the United States. He is not the president of Religion. He must support and protect the rights of the Jewish, Muslins, Buddists, Hindi, etc. and all the people who are part of those religions as well as all the people who are of no religious affiliations. He is not a Minister, but the President of the United States of America. The care of your soul is to be your personal affairs as his is to him. America is a Deomocracy not a Theocracy. Separation of church and state that was the plan of this country. And none of this has anything to do with HAITI and our effort to help the people of that Country.

Forgive the digression from the topic of the Haitian tragedy posted.
Christians (2008) = 76% of the U.S. population
Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism = 4% of the U.S. population
No religious beliefs = 15% of the U.S. population
Given that President Obama has followed and been indoctrinated in both the Islamic and Christian religions, at least it can be surmised that he’s not a “heathen” and has a belief in some higher power be it Allah, God or Jesus Christ.

KHRISH,PISCES & EVERYONE ELSE ~
First, let me say that my intent was not to disrespect either of you. I’ve been posting on this site for over a year and have read your comments. From reading many of your post that is the preception that I’ve received.
As for me being over zealous, you are correct. But, it isn’t about religion. It is solely about the word of GOD and doing his will. How do I know what his will is for me? I seek him daily and allow him to speak. KRISH,in the past, anytime, the post have deviated to a discussion on religion, you have been zealous in your oppostion to recognizing the SUPREMACY OF JESUS CHRIST. Don’t take my word for it, reference them. So, in a sense, one may label you as a zealot.
I am not looking for you or anyone else to agree with me. I allow the Holy Spirit to speak through me, so that another person isn’t mislead based on what I think or how eloquently I’m able to phrase things. All christian’s are ministers, called to use the platform(s) we have been given, to allow the Holy spirit to minister through us. Platform(s): this site, our jobs, in our homes, our words, etc. Every situation is an opportunity to convey the truth, according to the BIBLE.
The Holy Spirt will never deviate from the word of God: If you are proclaming anything us – then one needs to be careful. I’ve been obedient and stated what I felt led of the Holy Spirit to convey.
In Conclusion:
Lets continue to pray for the people of Haiti and one another.
God Bless!!

If I have been a zealot about anything, it is that people should read, study, reseach and understand things for themselves. Not because someone else has told you that this is the case. I personally have never belived that there are atheists…Everybody believes in something; as I am also opposed to people with the pro-life message, I don’t know a soul who is pro-abortion but are pro-choice which seems to always be another confused conversation. I respect all human beings and their right to live their lives as they see fit as long as it does no harm to others. There seems to be a complete disrespect from some for others, many based on something that they have heard or have misunderstood. If I have been overzealous on this post it is because I find it difficult to believe that people are suffering so in another country and others decide to insinuate that it maybe due to a religious or non-religious consequence. This is an act of nature and to even broach the subject of who or who isn’t of a specific faith is, to me, just down right inhumane. This earthquake didn’t distinguish its rage on specific people. It happened because of specific circumstances, environmental. If you have been watching and listening to the reports you can perhaps start to understand some of the reasons for this disaster. That has been my interest in responding to a few of the comments posted here. If you have studied the History of America you can certainly understand that it was not founded as a religious nation. If so, then what was slavery and the inhumanity issued out to people who were guilty of nothing more than their skin color. I find that in this country many think if they can keep you in bondage under a system called religion that they can continue to control you and I think it imperative that many who have been the off springs and recipients themselves of this rein of control need to open your eyes, ears and minds to what is real and what is false. As you said in your closing remarks. We should all keep praying for the people of Haiti and I agree (“But some man will say: Thou hast faith, and I have works. Shew me thy faith without works; and I will shew thee, by works, my faith. Thou believest that there is one God. Thou dost well: the devils also believe and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? …– James 2:18-20,)So as we pray let us also offer works to help the people of Haiti.

I dont agree with Garcelle saying “you have to question faith”. You dont have to. While I completely understand why she feels that way, (i’m sure Im not the only one who cries everyday for my creole bredren) moaning & groaning is not helping anyone. I wanna kno what she’s doing to be her brothers’ keeper?
Also, she shouldnt forget what God has done for her. Her 3 sons & loving husband & career are all indications of his love, lest she forget.
In the book of Job, it is the devil that causes calamity to fall on Job, God only allows it to see if Job will forget him.
Even the Haitians in the devastation are praising God in this tragedy, and I think THAT is the way to survive & get over this latest blow to Haiti. While I cant blame God for what has has happened, it dawned on me that maybe, just maybe, God allowed it so Haiti could finally stop being ignored by the majority of the world!

If my Haitian neighbors go to Haiti in the spring as they plan to, then I’ll go with them…I want so badly to DO SOMETHING!!! I dont mean to pick on Garcelle, but I would be sending cots, tents, etc., if I were her & her husband. I hope these celebs are giving according to their pocketbooks. @ReallyDoe…you are so nice and I wish I could do more, too. All we can do now besides donating is what the Haitians are doing, hope watch and pray.
I researched (googled) other entertainers with Haitian backgrounds and the list was astounding!! Here go a few…Missy Elliott, Usher, 50 Cents, Lloyd Banks, Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne, Sean Combs, Sidney Poitier, Pras and Lela Rochon, among others.
So you are absolutely right, we shouldn’t pick on Garcelle because there are others and a presumably even wealthier than she is, that hopefully are giving comfort and aid to Haiti as well.
Thank you for letting me be part of the conversation on this serious situation, ReallyDoe. God Bless you, too.

Have you seen the parents on the Today Show and MSNBC yelling that President Obama needs to pull everybody there to assist in rescue to send them to a hotel to save their daughters. There daughters are more important than any of the others there lost in the rubble? I can’t believe that Americans are acting like the President is not doing all that he can to get rescue workers in there to save all the people. It is the most distrubing thing that I have seen this week. What has happened to us in this country. Don’t get me wrong, I do understand a parent’s deep concern for their children lost in the disaster; but what else do they want the President to do? My goodness, I’m so ashamed that fellow Americans can act this way. Let us continue to contribute and pray that people are rescued from this disaster.

I take issue with that list of stars. I feel that the need to call people out concerning their heritage is a low and infantile act at this point in time. I feel certain that all of these people are chipping in and working hard to help out as much as they can because it doesn’t matter if you have never even been to Haiti like me, this is a disaster that affects all in the world because of its devastation . Let’s all not partake in childish name games and pointing fingers without remembering that four of those fingers are pointing back at ourselves. We continue to do all we can, however small, to assist in the rescue and rebuilding of this country.

Haiti has been suffering for centuries. Anything that anyone does is merely serving as a band-aid as far as recovery.

I’m calling out the Pope. Haiti identifies as over 80% Catholic, yet the Pope has not made even an official statement about the crisis that I am aware of. I wonder where his offering of even prayer for his fellow Catholics is.

Here is a translation of his Italian-language remarks delivered after his Angelus prayer:
In these days out thoughts are turned toward the dear population of Haiti, as well as our heartfelt prayers. The apostolic nuncio, who thanks be to God is all right, is keeping me continually informed, and so I have learned of the sad death of the archbishop, as well as so many priests, religious and seminarians. I am following and encouraging the efforts of numerous charity organizations that are dealing with the immense needs of the country. I am praying for the injured, for the homeless and for those who tragically have lost their lives.

I googled this, too. So now let’s see him (the Pope) out there with his pick and axe rebuliding and blessing his people in Haiti..

Well given his age and his position, I doubt very seriously that you will see that. Even the President of Haiti hasn’t been doing that but is no doubt busy and quite involved with the things necessary for him to do, I’m quite sure. However, if you have checked the web or watched/listened to the news, you have certainly seen the number of Catholic charities that are hard at work as are so many, many others. I can’t think of a place in the world that’s not doing something that can help this country and these people.

Why would you expect a man who as a young guy in Germany was a member of Hitler’s junior NAZI party to be doing anything for Haitians?? Because they have subjected them with Catholicism? LOL.
The Nazis slaughtered Black people too.. the so called Jews just try to own the story as their holocaust alone.. but it wasn’t limited to them..
And why would you expect help for black people from the same religious institution whose Pope’s issued TWO PAPAL BULLS AUTHORIZING the Portuguese to kidnap, enslave and SELL AFRICAN MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN??? Who do you think brought Africans to Haiti in chains?
Pope John Paul apologized to them about slavery, but didn’t do CRAP to make any compensation for it. And the Catholic Church is NOT POOR.
