“She’s my stylist now,” Williams has said. “She went to F.I.T. and specialized in fashion merchandising.”

“She was one of those kids who, when she was growing up, I’d put jeans on her and she’d kick them off and want to put on a pretty dress. She’s a girly, girly girl.”(Source)

In all, Vanessa has four children: Melanie (born 1987), Jillian (born 1989), and Devin (born 1993) with Ramon Hervey; and Sasha Gabriella Fox (May 2000) with former NBA player Rick Fox.

I didn’t know her oldest daughter is 22. She looks a lot like her mom. Very pretty. Now this a woman who has it all together with her exes and extended families. She never has to cook holiday dinner because they do it for her. Way to go Vanessa. LOL

I remember watching Vanessa win the Miss America pageant as a little girl many years ago. She left a big impression on me the night she won. She just had “it” in spades. Some people say Suzette Charles (1st runner up) did better in the talent performance–maybe, by a hair, but Vanessa was the overall package, even I understood that as a child.

Always admired her beauty, strength, intelligence. Her children are an attractive bunch, hope they have her grit.

Of Course, Vanessa Williams is mixed. Both her parents are mixed so that makes her of mixed race. How can anyone deny her mix race, she has blue eyes, light skin and hair and her features are Caucasian.

@ Curious – Oh, dear. Vanessa Williams is BLACK. We come in all shades and variations as black folks. I know blacks with light skin and light eyes. I know blacks with dark skin and light eyes — an entire FAMILY. I know blacks with the same parents who come out with opposite skin shades — 1 light/1 dark. That’s how it is in the black race. You must NOT be black to not recognize that Vanessa Williams is black. OR you must be underexposed to blacks or various hues. C’mon. The woman has experienced racism as a BLACK woman, as has her daughter, Sasha.

But oh, I forget. When a black woman is beautiful and popular, she MUST be anything but black. Okay.

we are all cultural mongrels. just because a person has “dominant” features doesn’t mean their dna is completely of that “dominant” gene.. i have met blonde haired blued people that are african. (northern africa), i have met blonde haired, blued people with two black parents.. i have met aborigines (first people) in australia with brown skin w/blonde hair and blue eyes.. this is common.. thus, EVERYONE is of some mixed race.. nothing is pure but bullsh*&*t..

folks who believe that a person is one “one race” really needs to study their history or perhaps travel..
