JASMINA AMENA LOSES HER BATTLE WITH LEUKEMIA
Jasmina Amena, the young six-year-old girl that Blackcelebkids.com introduced you to in March of last year, has died. On January 27th 2010, her mother wrote via social network Twitter: “At 10:55 [P.M] on January 27th, after a long battle, Jasmina lost her fight with leukemia. Thanks for all of your support.”
Before passing, Jasmina fulfilled one of her dreams: she met President Barack Obama.

The term leukemia refers to cancers of the white blood cells, which are also referred to as leukocytes or WBCs. When a child has leukemia, large numbers of abnormal white blood cells are produced in the bone marrow. These abnormal white cells crowd the bone marrow and flood the bloodstream, but they cannot perform their proper role of protecting the body against disease because they are defective.

This just breaks my heart. I was praying and hopeing that she would find a donor and she would be able to live a normal healthy life after her transplant. God makes no mistakes, but I hate that her life was cut short.

So devastating to read!! I registered to be a donor b/c of this sweet angel. As blacks we really need to step up to be donors. She found a donor but unfortunately relapsed. There are hundreds more like her that need donors just as badly. Please take a few moments and register. You just might save a life. RIP sweet Jasmina!

My God, i clicked on the timeline of her pictures above and as I continued to look at the pictures, my heart just began to ache….we take so much for granted in this life.
