LIONEL RICHIE: I’M A GENIUS GRANDFATHER

Singer Lionel Richie has admitted that he is a better grandparent than he was a parent to his first daughter Nicole Richie.
He said during a US radio breakfast show, “[I'm] much better than I was doing as a parent. I’m a genius now. That first time around as a parent will scare you to death because… they give you the kid without a manual.”
“I was slightly busy [with my career] at the time,” he added.
These days, Lionel is not too busy for his younger children Myles,15, and Sophie,11, and he is never too busy for his grandchildren Sparrow and Harlow Madden.
“‘This time around, now Nicole comes to me and she says, ‘Dad, how do I do this?’ I am now the genius.”
We were just talking about this in my psychology class about how grandparents sometimes seem to be better as grandparents than they were being parents because of the experience and trial and error.
It always seems to work that way. The second set of children for a man are always the ones they have time for because they have set their careers. And grandparents Wow! It’s like Cosby said, “who are these people” who allow your children to do things and act in ways that they would have grounded you, their child, for. LOL
Good for him. Better late than never.
thats nice..lets hope little sophie doesnt turn out how nicole was..that would be terrible. she seems like a sweet little girl.
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden always get a pass. He is never referred to as Nicole’s babies Daddy even though they are not married. If this was Monica or Keyshia Cole it would be a different story. Not to mention Nicole’s past arrest, dui’s and heroin abuse.
Some celebrities just have it like that, I guess.
Sophie’s just adorable. I hope that Nicole influences her for the better and that Lionel keeps a close eye on her. Hollywood gobbles them up and spits them out.

seems like if one is not strong and confident, hollywood feed them a bunch of rose garden nonsense and rob em blind and leave em confused and lost. mj put me in mind of one who was a victim of this. i just hhope now he is happy wherever he is. too bad lionel could not have utilized some of his grandfather genius to help mj.
