SADE: “BEING A MOTHER IS THE HARDEST JOB I’VE EVER UNDERTAKEN”
It has been 10 years since her last album release, but now British singer Sade is back with a vengeance. For the past few years, Sade has been living in a cottage in Stroud, UK, with her daughter Ila, who is now thirteen years old.
“… Ila appreciates the countryside. “She’s fascinated with frogs and newts and worms and slimy things, just like I was.”
Sade and Ila’s father, a Jamaican musician, parted ways years ago. Since then, the songstress has found love with a man named Ian. Together Sade and Ian have created a modern “nuclear” family, which consists of Ian’s 18-year-old son Jack.
“Ian is Ila’s dad, really. He does all the things a dad would do, and she really looks up to him. I feel like I’ve won the lottery, finally.”
Despite Ian’s support, Sade still feels the pressures of motherhood.
“Being a mother is the biggest and hardest job I’ve ever undertaken. I’m not complaining, but I’ve never had a nanny. For years after she was born I put Ila to bed every night. As soon as she arrived she became the centre of my life.”
Ila sings on one of the tracks on Soldier of Love, Sade’s latest album which is due out on February 9th,2010.

I have been waiting 10 years for this new album. Heard Wanda Sykes say that it was coming out and I am overjoyed. I would love to see pictures of her daughter as well. I love this woman’s voice and her songs. Welcome back Sade.
Hey Khrish, Mr. Timberlake may have been just a little premature when he was talkin’ bringing sexy back-lol, now that one of the purveyors of the real grown and sexy stuff is making a comeback to the music scene.
you know the CD drops on February 9th, don’t you? I have already pre-ordered mine just incase there is snow and I can’t get out to the music store. LOL I can hardly wait to hear the new songs from that sultry voice. I fall apart everytime I hear her sing THERE IS A WOMAN IN SOMOLIA. That song really gets to me. A glass of red wine, the roaring fireplace and Sade……and it’s on!
She is suppose to be on a few shows in the coming weeks promoting the release. Going to download the MP3 either from Amazon or Itunes.
I’ll get the CD and then lay out my own CD from the ones I like best on all Sade CDs. I always have to do that because I always want to hear the songs I like best with no interruption of one that I don’t like as well.

I just started downloading more MP3s over buying CDs. I still get CDs too from time to time, the sound quality is better and I have what may be an old school CD player, but the sound system and speakers is off the chain.
I reserve most of my downloads for now to my cell and laptop.

Can you believe Sade just turned 51 on 1/16? She has not aged a bit!!!! This is a true testament that Black is truly beautiful and will always be. I would love to see her daughter too!
