TRACY MORGAN CREDITS HIS TEEN SON FOR SAVING HIS LIFE
Comedian Tracy Morgan is grateful to his family for helping him to become sober. The funny man especially credits his teen son Tracy Jr. for helping him to take a stand against alcohol. “I’m taking a better stand now. All the drinking and all the craziness - I had fun. Nobody got hurt. But I hurt me. I thought I was winning; then I lost my family. I lost a 21-year-old marriage and that just made me go, wait a minute - I’m walking around with a bracelet on my ankle and my son looking at me like I’m Kunta Kinte. Like, “What you doing, Dad? What if I started driving and drinking? Would that be cool?” That was it for me. That was the end of it, ” Tracy said on Tuesday while on PBS’ Tavis Smiley show to talk about his latest film Cop Out.
After that sobering conversation with his son, Tracy’s life changed forever.
“So that made me change. Some people don’t even care; they get wrapped up in their own little world, that they don’t even see who they hurting. I didn’t. My son said, ‘What if I start driving drunk and kill somebody?’”
“That right there just made me look in the mirror like, I got to step up my game. So I did, and I’m glad it came from my son. I love him. He saved my life - again. Because before, I was on the street corner in Brooklyn hanging out, just hanging out. Then I had these kids, and they gave me responsibility and made me grow up and become a man, so again, there he was to rescue me.”
Tracy has three children in all: Tracy Jr., 18, Malcolm, 22, and Gitrid, 24, with whom he had with his ex-wife Sabrina Morgan.

That is so wonderful. I hope he keeps on the sober path. It’s so sad that you have to start losing the people who matter most to you in your life before one can accept the fact that this is what a good life is. The people in your life that you love. I’m so happy for him and wish him the best of the rest of his life.
I love his daughter’s oxfords. Haven’t seen those on youngsters in about a generation.

Oops, sorry, I thought that the woman pictured was Tracy’s daughter. She looks to be about the same age. Still love her oxfords.

I am glad to see him turn his life around. Too much talent to be wasted like that and more than anything, he has his children and they need to see a better example and to know that dad is ok.
His girlfriend is really youthful looking though he doesn’t look that old himself.
i was hoping that was his daughter with those oxfords on, that girl is young, no wonder his son doesnt look happy. how old is tracy? wow, oh well…….each to his own. he still is one of my favorite actors, with his crazy self,lol.

His girlfriend looks nuts with all that she has going on, oxforts, stripe, plaid scarf, jeans looks nuts, geez….what a hot mess..First time seeing her smile, she always looks angry and pissed.
