LIL WAYNE JAILED; HIS DAUGHTER AND EX-WIFE TRY TO COPE
On Monday(March 8th), rapper Lil Wayne officially started his one-year prison sentence for gun possession charges. The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., had been scheduled for sentencing twice before. It’s been an emotional ride for Wayne’s ex-wife Antonia Carter and their 11-year-old daughter Reginae, to say the least.
“It was up and down, you know. One minute we thought he was going and she’d be sad and then he don’t go,” Reality star Toya tells Vibe magazine. “We [were] in New York like two times and we ended up turning right back around because he didn’t go.”
In the end, Toya and Reginae weren’t at the courthouse to say goodbye when Wayne was finally sentenced.
“The last day he finally went in, we didn’t go, so my daughter was like, ‘I wish I would’ve went.’ It was just too much. I just didn’t want to let her see that again ’cause both times she took it real hard,” said Toya. “So I was like, I’m not gon’ let her go this last time. I’m just gon’ make sure he talk to her ’cause I didn’t know if he was really gonna go. They kept pushing back.”
So what did the rapper tell Toya and their daughter before he was sent away to prison?
“He just told me to be strong and don’t really trip. Don’t let her see me down,” said Toya. “At first my daughter would see me a little sad and you know kids they react off of your feelings sometimes, so he was just like, ‘Be strong, make sure you take care of her. Make sure she straight and keep her phone on all the times so I can call her. The time is gonna fly by.’
“The whole point of him being in jail is just not good for her—to say her dad’s in jail,” Toya added. “But at this point it is what it is, and we just gotta make the best of it. I’ma take her to visit him and talk to him and she’ll get through this eight months. It’ll fly by. I tell her all the time, ‘Just call daddy and tell him you love him,’ and he’ll be home soon.”

Your childish actions will always hurt your kids the most, we as parents need to stand up and do the right thing and stop getting in trouble so your kids don’t have to be away from you, so they don’t have to say yeah my dad is in jail it is so stupid, he has all those kids and still makes childish decisions, it seems he still is a child himself. I hope the best for his kids and hopefully they will learn from him and not follow in his footsteps.

Sorry sweetie, I would have to disagree with you about Toya using her daughter to gain her own fame. Toya gets what she wants from Wayne not just because she is his oldest childs mother but because he feels bad about the things he did to them when they were married. However, I do feel that even though she is the mother of a celebrities child she is doing something positive than just being Lil Wayne’s ex-wife or his daughter’s mother. Toya is actually going out and making a name for herself. One last thing is you made mention to the things that he does she doesn’t see anything wrong with it. That’s false because Toya has spoke on the wrong things that Wayne has done but Toya only has one child not two she can’t control what he does Wayne is his on person. Only thing Toya can do is teach their daughter not to make those same mistakes that she and her father. I just pray that this situation gives Wayne some time to think about the inpact that his actions has cause his children.

its always so easy for people to judge && criticize people about things there doing. wayne is his own man and at the end of the day what ever happens in waynes life is his business..your not doing the time so stop worrying and talking like you are and as far as toya is concerned thats my girl and she doesnt have to live off reginae to live her life && reginae should be concern considering the fact she’s her mother DUH.!! toya is doing many things for herself and i believe she can do that with or without wayne. wayne is a good man, and he is also human people make mistakes so he will do his time and remain strong for his kids and you right his kids dont have to follow in his footsteps but they sure as hell can learn from his mistakes and accomplish some of the things that he has accomplished in so little time god bless wayne and his family.!! god bless the haters too who call him childish but yet there being childish discussing wayne and his family as if there apart of there everyday life

Weezy and his group of babymamas and illegitimate children are just too much for me. Either this man has something made of gold in his pants or Toya, Nivea, Lauren, and Sarah are 4 dumb birds. I’m betting on the latter! I can’t wait till they all get a tv show together. They should call it Wayne’s Big Love. I will tune in to see all of the foolery until I can’t take it anymore!

I feel Wayne should have thought of his family before he make careless decisions. But, he is paying the price. But, I don’t know why people keep being mean to Reginae’s mom. She was with Wayne way before he was established, he even married her. Look at the ages, Reginae is 11, and all the other kids are stairsteps (lol). She truly cares for Wayne. All the other females wouldn’t have been with him if he wasn’t a well established rapper. So give Toya some credit, and she take care of her daughter. In all honesty, don’t down any of the mothers, if that’s what they chose to do, then that’s their life decision. I have yet to hear in the news, Lil Wayne hasn’t paid child support, or he hasn’t seen his kids. He takes care of his kids.
Last thought, if Toya wants to make a name for herself through Lil Wayne, why shouldn’t she? Isn’t that what celebrity kids do with their parents? Master P, Romeo, Will Smith, Willow and Jaden Smith..and the list goes on. Just be happy, she don’t want to sit like a bump on a log and watch the money come in. Clearly, that’s what she could do, but she choose not to.
Instead of tearing people down, and how they live their life, let’s look at what we see are printed in the news, and make a life better for ourselves and our families. Everyone have a good day

I understand his daughters feelings it’s her Dad in the end. regadless of all his drama. But this is the price he has to pay for his mistakes. She still gets to see her Dad, and he can write her letters. A whold lot of letters. lol. Anyway Dad’s going to jail is just as normal, as driving a car, I hope he learn from this and become a better role model for his CHILDREN. Then again, going in and out of jail seems to be normal to when you are living that life of out of control disrespect to the laws of the land. I wish him well. Regardless of Wayne’s actions, at least he takes care of his kids & everyone seems to get along. Even if it is just for the sake, they are making it work.

@Lola, with all due respect, I’m sure Wayne takes care of all his kids as he’s supposed to do, but a person cannot possibly take care of four different children in four different households. Taking care of a child means being there for them. I’m not saying he doesn’t see his babies, but how can anyone be there physically and emotionally when they need him? I’m asking a question because I’m not trying argue about this man. I don’t know him, but I’m speaking because there are a lot of men in this situation and people shake their fingers at them and admonish them for their irresponsible behavior, yet somehow, we excuse celebs because we are a fan or because they have money.

Wow, if I didn’t know better I’d think Wayne was still seeing Toya because she acts as if she’s just as hurt as her daughter. Seems like they let Nae in on a lot of things that should be kept between adults. I read some where that the lil girl was on Twitter saying she’s proud of her dad because he takes care of all his kids…huh? That’s what he’s SUPPOSED TO DO..but I guess Toya didn’t mention that. Or the fact that it’s not cool to have a bunch of kids by a bunch of men/women either…

Why wouldn’t she be hurt? She’s his ex-wife and she has a child by this man so obviously she still cares about him. She’s also hurting b/c her daughter is sad and hurt by the situation. IF they don’t tell her things, then she will just find out on the internet or somewhere else. I know what Lil Wayne did was wrong, but it seems that he makes sure his kids are all taken care of. Hopefully he will get it together and fast.

That’s what I was saying, I can see here being hurt for her child…because I assume, no one wants to see their child hurt. That I can understand. But it’s still kinda strange to me because they have been broken up for a while and Wayne has had 3 other kids now…but it is what it is.
I agree with you about Nae finding things out on her own, however, I still believe somethings should be kept on an adult level. Obviously this situation isn’t something that she could have kept private, but SOME things..

I was thinking the same thing, why is Toya so upset over what is happening to lil wayne? I understand being there for my daughter, but why do I need to show up to his sentencing? Further more, why would I subject my child to seeing him be sentenced not once but twice.
It’s one thing to allow my child to know & have a relationship w/their sibling, but why do I have to be present at the birthday party? Couldn’t the father take them & bring them back home?
She’s either still with him or wants them all to know she is & will always be the first on.
Reginae does seem to know alot about what’s going on w/adults’ business. She has no business tweeting, she’s only 11, she should be doing things normal 11yr olds do & shouldn’t be tweeting that comment.
I think because they grew up quickly, they feel its ok for their daughter to as well. How about just letting her be a kid?

Who cares if it happens to other people? Lil Wayne has a ton more resources then everyday people. When you are famous and rich there is no reason for you to be going around carrying a gun and going to jail! Especially in NY when hip hop cops are out in full force. Just another immature black man with more money then sense! Toya is dumb just by the way she talks, the girl can’t form a sentence to save her life. She should have been in class instead of getting pregnant at 14! I feel sorry for the kids though being born to such stupid selfish parents. I have never commented on here before but I just had to on this one.
First people are talking about Lauren, Nivea, Sarah, and Toya but they all honestly had feelings for him for whatever reason. We don’t know him personally his at home personality could be completely different from what we see on tv and that could be why they all feel in love with him so don’t judge them.
Reginae has a twitter because she is an “up and coming” artist so its a way to connect with fans. Also Twitter, Facebook, Myspace its all the same just a way to connect with friends.
And it is good that Wayne and Toya are telling Reginae all this stuff because like someone else said she could just go online and read about what’s going on.
I think we need to stop being so judgmental because you don’t know these people and aren’t in their shoes so chill.

After watching a documentary on Dewayne Carter, I honestly believe he is still a little boy trying to get that special love he did not have growing up as a child. He was only 11 or so when he hit it big. I believe he is not the image he portrays to society.
That being said, why couldn’t the women you listed not be able to love him & keep their legs closed? Why couldn’t they love him w/o birthing him a child? Is that the only way to show love…having unprotected sex & producing babies? If it is…then I’ve been teaching my son the wrong things.

This is a true example as to why ladies need to go back to the old school. Start keeping their legs closed!! Making sure their daughters and granddaughters stay pure and stop giving their goodies up to just any man, but their husband. Because in the end the kids pay for their mistakes!! P.S. Singles ladies keep you legs closed until Mr. Right comes along and treat you right (that does not mean a trip to the movies, either). Women and men are sleeping with people they do not really know. Then, having babies and wondering what happened, why is he not in my child’s life, and in some cases what is his last name?

I have a huge issue w/Myspace, Facebook, Twitter & all the other network sites being available to children.
While they are an excellent way to connect w/family & friends, it is also a perfect way for pervert people/people who wish to do you harm to connect to you as well. They can see what your likes & dislikes are, where you live & if you pose outside your home & put picture on those sites, they can know what you look like & what your home looks like. Just because it is convenient & nice does not mean its safe. We need to stop saying, its ok because we are losing too many of our children to that nonchalant attitude.
Children under 16, shoot 18 if they are immature/irresponsible should not be able to have access to those sites. You want to connect w/your friends, do it the old fashion way, call them on the phone & walk over to their home for a playdate or hanging out at the mall or something. I’m sorry but regardless whether Reginae is an up & coming artist, she’s still 10 & unable to make adult decisions & should not be twitting, especialy regarding her father’s decisions & choices.
My son will be 14 & will not be allowed on facebook, myspace or twitter until he’s a responsible/mature 18 yr old…shoot don’t make me make it 25.

Again, I agree Sherley. And most parents (let’s be honest here) are not up in their child’s business like they should be to monitor them when they are on those websites. Most parents barely have time to make dinner or walk their child to school, so I KNOW they’re not monitoring what they’re doing on the computer. Some parents don’t even monitor what they’re kids watch! I know of some parents who let their kids listen to and watch the same things that they listen to and watch. But the child can’t say the ABC’s for dear life, go figure. Ask them the latest Beyonce song or dance, they can give it to you and not miss a beat!

What burns me up is that Lil’ Wayne didn’t own or possess the gun he got charged with; one of his employers on the bus had it. If ever there was case of racial injustice, this is it. He was lynched by the legal system – and readers here should understand this. I’m sure that one day his kids will.

I just wish people will stop calling Toya the baby mama she was the wife. and the other chicks lauren, nivea, and sara are all baby mamas with no rights once so ever. so toya still loves wayne anybody that has ever been married could even though the marriage is over the love will always be there.
