THE MANY FACES OF SEGI
Actress Kerry Butler (R) and her daughter Segi Mazzarino attended Princess Tiana’s official induction into the Disney Princess Royal Court and “The Princess and the Frog” DVD launch on March 14, 2010 in New York City.
Kerry, who is mostly known for her work in theater, adopted Segi from Ethiopia:“I adopted my daughter from Ethiopia, and when we were there, we heard about children dying in the orphanage where my daughter was from. I have been involved with this charity called World Vision, and they are taking a percentage of the money from my CD and putting it to work in Ethiopia (source).”

I love when people adopt. I’d do it in a heartbeat if I could afford it. That expression in the second picture is cute.
Its too bad that some of the best familys that would adopt if they could cant afford it. I wish there was some type of organization that could help families to afford adoption.
Those are some expressive expressions–lol. Looks at those chubby cheeks.
I love the look on her face in the second picture!
LOL I love her facial expressions!
haha..i knoW riighT! tOo cute. she LooKs jusT Like my Ethiopian friend too..face, curLy hair, everything …soo scarey!
The second picture is priceless. Very cute girl.
Adorable pictures! It really warms my heart to see children who are in need get adopted by loving families!
Wonder why so many Hollywood stars are adopting black kids from Africa when there are so many black american kids who need adopting as well. Don’t get me wrong it’s good any orphaned child gets a home but Hollywood is so because it’s the IN thing right now. You know how Hollywood is.First it’s IN to look anorexic, then they all want to carry little dogs around in expensive purses now adopting African kids. For the sake of the kids hope it’s not just a fad.
On another note very cute lucky little girl.
I know…I agree with Brooks, such a new trend in Hollywood. I’m not knocking it, but this actress would have no trouble attracting an African American male who would be MORE than willing to conceive with her if she wanted her own biological little American mocha colored baby.
Maybe she’s barren…if that’s the case then I’m glad she found a child to love and receive love in return.
I believe adoption here in america is harder than it is in other countries so that maybe one of the reasons people go to other places. I might be wrong though but i’m happy people are adopting children no matter where they get them from. I hope these people are good parents to their children as well. Kerry Butler looks like a blonde Amy Fisher.
It still amazes me that people who are doing NOTHING to help solve the world’s orphan problems still pass judgement on those that are! I have a daughter from Ethiopia and I am not in Hollywood. ALL children deserve loving homes and African children are no exception. Most American kids at least have foster homes where they have food and shelter. Many of the world’s orphans are not afforded this luxury and I am sure when God said to take care of orphans and widows he didn’t just mean American ones. We are in the process now to adopt from Asia and I have no guilt over our choice to provide a home to children in need of one. Please stop judging and go adopt one of those little black American kids that are in such desperate need of a home. That would be more useful!
Despite there being thousands of African American children waiting to be adopted, it is very difficult to adopt them unless you want to be a foster parent first. The majority of kids are adopted by their foster parents, but those who aren’t need permanent homes and the process to adopt them needs to be made easier.
I have adopted four AA children. The last was a sibling group of 3 and it took me YEARS to do it.
Wow that’s a shame the process takes so long especially with you adopting siblings because the’re harder to place and often get separated.
how cute is she with her princess tiara. lol @ her stinky face lol!
Cute little girl and nice that someone adopted her,.
Segi actually looks like her mother!
