LOLA ROCK JOURNEYS TO GHANA
Lola Rock,7, the daughter of Comedian Chris Rock and Philanthropist Malaak Compton-Rock, took a journey to West Africa, Ghana earlier this month. Lola and her mom traveled to Ghana as Global Ambassadors for a project spearheaded by a partnership between Journey for Change: Empowering Youth Through Global Service and Touch A Life Foundation:
The partnership will focus on advocating for the elimination of child trafficking, with emphasis on addressing child slavery on Lake Volta in Ghana. The inaugural event is a March 5-14, 2010 trip to Ghana where Journey for Change Youth Global Ambassadors will join Touch A Life Foundation child trafficking survivors for a transformational week of education and service. The trip will culminate with a fact-finding mission on the waters of Lake Volta and the completion of a school for child trafficking survivors in the Kete Krachi region of Ghana(Source).

It’s good that the Rocks are teaching their children about charity at an young age. When children are trafficked, what are they trafficked for?

Cheap or free labor and probably and most disgustingly of all ( I truly hope this is not the case here): s-e-x.
We must protect our children all over the world. Again so glad that hands are reaching out where needed.

I am from Ghana and being living in the US for some years and Ghana is truly a nice place just like in US. It is depicted so wrongly (Africa) by the media but if you ever get a chance to go in your lifetime visit a country in Africa like Ghana, South Africa, Liberia, Senegal, Egypt or others. I miss Ghana great weather all the time because its on the equator.
