PRESIDENT OBAMA: MALIA AND SASHA ARE WELL-ADJUSTED KIDS
It’s been over a year since Malia,11, and Sasha, 8, Obama first stepped into the White House and according to President Obama, his daughters are fairing rather well.
“The happiest thing about the past year and a half has been the girls’ adjustment. They have just been terrific. They’re doing well in school,” Obama said to Matt Lauer of NBC in an interview on Tuesday morning.
“They’re not as constrained. They can wander around. Their Secret Service protection is a lot more low key,” he explained. “So they’ve got soccer, they’ve got basketball, they go sleep over at their friend’s houses.”
Though the girls are well-adjusted, the president does worry about how they will cope once they get a little older.
“Now I get a little worried about them when they’re teenagers because I think that’s the time when you’re already embarrassed about your parents, and then imagine if your dad’s in the newspaper every day and people are calling him an idiot. I feel a little worried about that.”
But “on the other hand, Malia and Sasha have just turned out to be unbelievably well adjusted kids,” Obama said.
“The thing that’s most important to me is that they are so respectful of everybody and haven’t gotten on any airs. I attribute that directly to Michelle because she wouldn’t put up with any of that stuff.”

i think the first daughters are well adjusted kids who parents put them first and make sure they have their head on straight.their well behaved kids who are not fazed about their dad presidency.i dont think the obamas have any thing to worry about as far as their kids growing up.i think sasha and malia know who their parents are and no newspaper is going to tell them different.

i agree. i know both her parents are tall, so i guess she got her height from them. I noticed it for the inauguration when she stood next to her mom, and she had on flats.

the girls are so grounded because their parents are grounded. they’re real, everyday people who weren’t born with silver spoons in their mouths, so they know what it means to earn what you have. i commend them on being such wonderful parents with such great kids.

He seems like such a loving, devoted father to his daughters. I also happen to think President Obama is the best leader we’ve had since President Clinton. I wonder what words those people who are calling President Obama an “idiot”, had for Bush when HE was in office. Hmmmm…..

I simply love seeing this family. It was very funny yesterday to hear that the President suggested French President and his wife dine a BEN’S CHILI BOWL, and they did. I would have loved to see that. Heads of state seeing other parts of the Nation’s capital.

I like that we see President Obama taking a lead road in parenting. When he urged the Black community to step it up, our president chose to lead by example. Even thought I’m doing well, seeing the Obamas make me want to do even better.
