JADEN AND JACKIE: THE KARATE KID REMAKE IS A GREAT MOVIE
“They should see this because it’s a great movie,” says Jaden Smith of his new movie, The Karate Kid. 11-year-old Jaden promises that viewers will enjoy the 1984 remake because “We have our own little twist to the movie, the fact that we’re in China. But it’s just a great, great movie.”

Veteran actor Jackie Chan, who is a main character in the movie, says to MTV, “I think it’s different from the first one. You will see the difference. Of course, today’s technology and filming — things are always better than 30 years ago. But ['The Karate Kid'] is a traditional classic. We just pay it tribute. I think everybody will like it.”
The Karate Kid is due out in June of this year.

The visuals on this movie look amazing. I might have to check it out. When I found out they were going to redo my “Karate Kid” I was more than a little annoyed. However, it looks like that made it a little different by setting it in China and actually making the Mr. Miyagi character Chinese (The original actor was actually Chinese playing Japanese) and they changed the marshal art from Karate to Kong Fu.

I never liked The Karate Kid when I was a kid (not a Ralph Macchio fan) but I want to see this remake based on the trailer.

This is on my summer movie “must see” list. Supporting little Jaden as I think this kid is really talented and cute to boot. He was a natural in the Pursuit of Happyness playing alongside his dad.

He martial arts trained 4 hours a day every single day for 3 months for this film – and he’s training again now (for what I don’t know)what 11 year old shows that much commitment…kudos Jaden for your hardwork and dedication…loves it!

The writer of the KARATE KID was on THE VIEW this morning. He seems very excited about the new version. He said that it was Will Smith who contacted him about doing the new version with his son. He balked at first but then decided to give in. He said that he is overjoyed with what Jaden and Jackie Chan have done with the film and now he’s glad that he allowed it to be re-made. I can hardly wait to see what this precious young man does and I’ve always liked Jackie Chan.
