PROMO MANIA: THE PEETES AT TOYS R’ US
Actress Holly Robinson – and her 12-year-old twins Ryan Elizabeth and Rodney Jackson ‘RJ’ Peete promote ‘My Brother Charlie’ and ‘Not My Boy’ at Toys R Us on April 3, 2010 in New York City. Also in attendance was former NFL player Rodney Peete.

own personal experiences with Holly’s son and Ryan’s brother, RJ, who has autism. Rodney, on the other hand, wrote a personal account of his personal journey with his son’s autism.
BCK Says: BCK will be interviewing Holly this week. Do you have any questions for Holly and her family?

Awww, I love them! But maybe you can ask her does she think there will be more books in the future? Maybe with RJ helping write one.

Maybe BCK could ask her how she is able to maintain her ageless beauty. What are her secrets and tips for others.

I love how they are all together as a family.I’m mean minus the younger kids.you have mom and dad and rodney jr twins sister who co wrote the book.I love that .Ryan has such love for her brother.I don’t see any jealousy in her.

i forget that they are twins. i am amazed at how he is autistic but his sister is not! you would think that carrying them both at the same time that they both would be effected. nature is a mystery.

I might get chewed out for this, but it seems to me they are using his condition for their own gain. Like, I’m glad they are making people aware of autisim in kids, but Tisha Campbell and Toni Braxton don’t go around all the time talking about it. Toni did the commercial, Tisha has done a couple of interviews. Even Boris and Nicole aren’t this vocal about Sophie, who’s condition (although VERY different) is more serious and rare than autism. What would you call Jenny Mccarthy doing in regards to her son?
Autism in black families need to be discussed openly & often.
Boris has a foundation for his daughter & talks about it alot.
Autism has a very long spectrum & depending on where your child fits into it, you may not be able to talk your child out in public to be able to have meet & greets as well as forums. Finding a sitter you can trust is a very difficult child.
Noone knew Tisha Campbell or Toni Braxton had austic children because they kept it on the down low. I rather people come out & talk about it so others can relate to you instead of keeping the child hidden.
I have a disabled child who is breaking the barriers & changing the mold. He isn’t autistic but I’ve come in contact w/them. I brag to everyone about my son, in hopes it will help others. If I could make our story into a made for tv movie, I would & I don’t give a damn about who thinks its to my benefit.

Now THIS is a gorgeous (and seemingly) well-adjusted Hollywood family. I have never been a huge fan of Holly’s but she deserves kudos for raising awareness about autism — and for raising such a fine family.

She is using her celebrity to bring AWARENESS. The more awareness, the closer they will get to more funding for research, which will then lead to a cure, so future and current children can live a full life again. I applaud you Holly. Bravo for staying in the forefront.
And yes, she does seem like an ageless beauty. What is her secret? She’s a beautiful soul. Inside and out.

I’ve always loved this family from the moment Holly became pregnant with the twins back in 1997.They are one of Hollywood’s most beautiful black families. They are truly a good looking bunch of people. My lovely and handsome eleven year old son is not autistic , but is learning disabled. He has made great strides academically , socially, and mentally. I noticed as he matures the stronger his skills have become. My husband and I are very proud of his accomplishments. He’s even been awarded with certificates and trophies, because we, including my son has worked extremely hard. When you have a special child you should not be ashamed of them. By talking and exposing the problem the more help and understanding your child will get. I love Holly and Family and only wish them the best.

ITA!! more needs to be said about it and i am glad they are out front leading the fight. i am another one that had no idea that Tisha Campbell or Toni Braxton both had autistic children. it’s their right of course if they do not wish to discuss it with anyone but i hope they are supporting holly with what she is trying to do!
