MOMMY AND ME: VANESSA WILLIAMS AND DAUGHTERS
Actress Vanessa Williams and her daughters (left to right) Jillian Hervey, 20, Sasha Fox,10, and Melanie Hervey,22, are featured in the latest issue of essence magazine:
“When Vanessa Williams was preparing to portray Wilhelmina Slater, the scheming “editrix” of ABC’s Ugly Betty, she drew inspiration from her mom, music teacher Helen Williams. “My mother considers it a compliment,” Vanessa insists, saying Helen encouraged her to “dare to be different.” Vanessa has passed along that spirit of individualism to daughters(left to right) Jillian Hervey,20; Sasha Fox,10; and Melanie Hervey,22(as well her son , Devin Hervey,17,) and believes that her girls have so many opportunities because of “doors that were opened by the women who came before(Essence magazine, pg 134).”
Also featured in the issue are celebrity moms Fantasia, Brandy with both her mother and daughter, Holly Robinson Peete with her daughter, and Alfre Woodard and her daughter Mavis.

I luv Vanessa Williams and have followed her career since she won Miss America back in the 80s. Her daughters have grown to be such lovely ladies. I wish her family nothing but the best.

gorgeous girls. can’t really tell who the older girls look like, cuz they don’t look much like either parent to me, so maybe they’re just equal mixes. Sasha definitely looks like Rick, with Vanessa’s widow’s peek hairline

All beautiful… seems the blue eyes gene didn’t pass down, but its w/e. Vanessa still looks great even at her age.

When Sasha was born and up till she was about two or three, she had the exact same eye color as Vanessa, but then her eye color started to change to the color of Rick. Funny how genes and genetics works. You can be born with one hair or eye color and then around 2 or 3 it can change to a different one.

It is too bad that white guy vannessa dated prior to having her miss american crown taken away, did not marry her. Look at all he missed out on. Having a beautiful family with her. One thing I can say about nessa is that she does not let one monkey stop her show. She keeps right on moving, prospering and winning. Go girl….
