COMMON: MY LATEST MOVIE IS “JUST WRIGHT” FOR MY DAUGHTER
Rapper/actor Common poses with his co-star Queen Latifah at the premiere of movie “Just Wright” on May 4, 2010. Common, who plays the leading role in the romantic comedy, says that his new film is something his 12-year-old daughter Omoye Assata Lynn can watch.
He says, “I’m very enthused about this film because it’s something my daughter can see and love, and my mother and my grandmother. And my guy friends, because the basketball is in there. They can enjoy it, even with the love story.”
And Common is especially glad that this time around, he won’t be playing the “bad guy” as he did in flicks like “Smokin’ Aces” and “Wanted.”
“As my daughter says, ‘Daddy, when are you gonna stop playing the BAD guy?’
“I wanted to break free of the sorts of roles that Hollywood sees me in; you know, the tough guy. I like doing dark roles, but I like playing romantic, and I like playing conflicted characters. This guy gives me all that, and he’s an NBA player. He’s my dream role.”
Just Wright is in theaters on Friday.

i’ll definitely be seeing this movie. was already a fan of Queen, but i’ve not had the opportunity to see any of Common’s movies (that i can remember). and the previews looked really nice. just my type of movie.
i didn’t realize he had a daughter either. or one that was 12 anyways. have they ever mentioned who her mother is? with her name and pretty brown skin, i get the feeling she’s of African decent (?)

MY girlfriends and I are looking forward to seeing Common in the movie Just Wright when we saw the preview we all said “GOD BLESS HIS PARENTS FOR MAKING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CREATION”. LOL

I think his daughter resembles Common’s dad who voice/images have been featured in his albums both vocally and in early images of his parents. She’s tall and her face looks similar.

Im excited to see this movie. Im happy Queen Latifah is coming back on the big screen, she did excellent in “Set it Off”. Keep this on the low, but they would make a cute couple. LOL
