Mashonda looks a lot like Thelma from “Good Times” they could be sisters.

  • Mercedes May 30, 2010 at 12:28 pm

Gary Coleman was a cute kid. He had chubby cheeks!
It’s sad to know that he’s gone, but I will always remember that line “What you talkin bout Willis?” lol

Mashonda’s baby looks adorable in his little outfit though. With his rubber band bracelets! =)
I work in a store where they sell those and they rip off of the hooks as soon as they’re put on! lol

Really sad to hear about Gary ‘Whatchu talkin’ bout, Willis?’ Coleman passing away.

About the chain smoking tot: Are the parents insane?! That baby will be lucky to reach his fifth birthday!

  • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 9:34 pm

Next thing you know, this little smoker is going to be cussing like a sailor, swigging alcohol, and blowing smoke rings in between!

Poor little thing probably already can’t sleep nights without waking up choking. I always thought 2 year olds should smell Downey or Ivory fresh, not like a walking ashtray as I’m sure this little one does.

    Frightening!

  • barbie May 29, 2010 at 1:50 pm

R.I.P Gray Coleman now we will never know what Willis was talking about.

    • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 3:16 pm

LOL, barbie. Even though I am sad and mourning.

  • Teri May 29, 2010 at 1:49 pm

Gary Coleman’s passing is sad and tragic. This man was plagued by so many demons – his parents and all the other things he endured. Years ago, my mom and brother were at a restaurant in Marina Del Rey, CA and saw him sitting in a booth by himself looking lonely and dejected. She mentioned that yesterday upon learning of his passing. So sad.

As far as those parents letting that baby smoke – NO WORDS! Not only is he too fat, but smoking? Are they kidding? He won’t be around to see the age of 5 at this rate. This is criminal, and I don’t care if they do live in another country.

Mashonda and son – I really like that pic.

AA working mothers – congrats to Halle, but it sure would be nice if they featured everyday women we all know and love for these honors. The Lord only knows there are plenty of them. I guess if they didn’t feature celebs or the rich and famous, many of us wouldn’t care (shrugging shoulders). Just saying.

    • Fashionedbygod33 May 29, 2010 at 4:44 pm

Teri, I really like and agree with your post. I will be the one to raise my hand in wanting to see “everyday” AA women; the pillars of community. Even though I come to this site, I am not overly entrenched in pop culture.

      • Teri May 29, 2010 at 11:48 pm

        Thank you, Fashioned :-)

Yes, so many pillars of our community – ones that we can touch and see. I’m not entrenched in pop culture either, Fashioned. I love coming to BCK because there a variety of things for everyone from looking and commenting on the kids to having deep, meaningful discussion, and meeting (even though not face-to-face) nice, intelligent people. It’s also good for a great laugh too :-)

Take care and have a wonderful, save Memorial Day weekend.

        • Fashionedbygod33 May 30, 2010 at 3:04 pm

Thank you so much Teri. You enjoy your holiday weekend also and all the best to you and yours. I also agree with you on why you come here and talk about a good but, shaking your head at the same time, laugh on this board:).

  • Toni A. May 29, 2010 at 1:25 pm

A 2 yr old smoking cigarettes is ridiculous! And please let me not get started on his parents! Hmph!

  • Leilaray.a.ka.Zogie May 29, 2010 at 12:45 pm

First why are all these post together? Was Gary C.. Not good enough for his own box? R.I.P Gary C. There are people here on earth that did love and respect you.. And im sure will miss you.

    • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 3:21 pm

I know! He may not have had kids of his own to carry on his legacy, but he was like a short celebrity kid /adult all of his life.

That will be his enduring image to me and others too, I’m sure.

I have to ask myself now, “Whatchoo talkin’ bout, Pisces?!

I guess I’m saying so much about it because I would hope Gary Coleman won’t just end up another “blip” in the cosmos.

      • Teri May 29, 2010 at 11:49 pm

Have a wonderful, safe Memorial Day weekend, Pisces :-) and to everyone else as well.

        • Pisces May 31, 2010 at 11:53 am

Thank you Teri and same to you. Your avatar is beautiful.

  • GTSA May 29, 2010 at 11:22 am

Was sad to see that Gary Coleman has passed. “What you talkin’ about Willis?” ranks right up there with “Make My Day” and “I’ll Be Back” as far as memorable hollyweird quotes. It took a Gary Coleman with his outsized cuteness and sass to carry an otherwise corny show like Different Strokes. (Willis was a-ight too). Gone too soon.

That 2yr old smoking is outrageous. His parents are idiots for this! That is not mommy’s boob he is crying for, but poison. Get him weaned already, tantrum whatever. Could also stand to lose a few pounds.

Mashonda looks fresh faced and happy.Love her shoes. Her son with Swizz sure is cute here. Like how he is dressed. Swizz is ok, I guess. Think it is his beakish nose and skinny body that kills it a little for him in the looks dept.

I hope the pregnancy rumors are true for Mariah. She is pushing it agewise for a natural pregnancy/birth. She and Nick make an odd couple but the love (or infatuation?) seems genuine. I like Mariah.

RE: Working Woman Mag. What a wonderful list of incredible women. How do they each manage to be so lovely and accomplished at the same time?–I am jealous:-). No, I am proud actually and good for them.

    • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 12:43 pm

GTSA..lol! Beakish nose, you said. You bring out the kindergartner in me with your zingers sometimes. Love your wry, subtle YET…PRAGMATIC style. Have a great weekend.

      • GTSA May 29, 2010 at 8:31 pm

You too Pisces! Enjoy the rest of your Memorial Day weekend.

  • Sherley May 29, 2010 at 9:51 am

    1…Rest in peace Gary.

2…those parents need to be hanged & lit w/the cigarrete they gave their 2 yr old. Let him throw a tantrum…he’ll live to throw a few more.

    3…So glad for Moshanda’s son.

    4…not this again…who cares if Mariah’s pregnant…pls.

    5…congrats Halle!

Most importantly I do not want to hear anyone complain about Angel’s haircut when there is a smoking 2 yr old.

    • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 10:19 am

You know me Sherley…I can find room to condemn both! ;)

The President was raised in Indonesia for part of his youth by his step Dad. I can’t help but wonder if that’s when and where he picked up the habit now after seeing this story.

The 2 year old’s Dad says the baby looks healthy…not to me, and not just because he’s obviously obese! OMG, how damaged and awful his lungs must be and they are not even fully developed yet!

You’re right, Sherley, the parents should be lit on fire, the kind of punishment common to under developed backwards countries. That’s all they understand, it seems. :(

      • Sherley May 29, 2010 at 6:04 pm

        Lol about condemning both.

        Somethings are beyond my comprehension.

      • Riley May 30, 2010 at 4:00 pm

I’m sorry but I have a problem w/ this comment as it wreaks of ignorance. First of all refering to a country as backwards is derogatory. It indicates that you have an elitest attitude ( just b/ c you happen to have been born in America) & that the country is moving in reverse. You also made a dumb comment that Obama probably picked up his smoking habit from having lived there before. I mean really? In terms of the kid, I would agree with you that there is no way that he is healthy and yes the parents are to blame.

        • Pisces May 31, 2010 at 11:54 am

Sorry if I upset your sensibilities, just expressing my opinion, though.

          • EVELINA RAE May 31, 2010 at 1:36 pm

There’s nothing wrong with expressing an opinion, but if they lived in America or Canada trust me children’s aid would be all over them…so i’d say the country is behind. Offering a car to get them to stop buying THE TODDLER smokes? REALLY? WOW now ain’t that some s***!

          • Pisces May 31, 2010 at 7:57 pm

You are so funny, Evelina. I like the things you say. You always see the whole picture or the bigger story.

  • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 9:49 am

R.I.P, Mr. Gary Coleman. I used to love to imitate his “What you talkin’ bout, Willis? line…but now I’m just sad. :(

    • onum2 May 29, 2010 at 10:29 am

I CANT BELIVE THAT BABY IS SMOKING LIKE THAT. WILL HE MAKE IT TO AGE 15? CUTE LIL CHUBBY BABY. THAT IS SO SAD. R.I.P GARY!

    • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 10:30 am

Gary Coleman was a pioneer actor in terms of his sitcom work, IMO. If not for his contribution, there may have not been a Will Smith (Fresh Prince of Bel Air sitcom) or another aspiring child actor, Jaden Smith…just to mention a few.

      • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 10:33 am

Oh, yeah. WEBSTER was another off shoot from Different Strokes. Thank You, Gary Colman.

      • Pisces May 29, 2010 at 10:42 am

Will it take another tsunami to cleanse Indonesia of this scourge/affliction?
