WILL AND JADEN SMITH KICK IT IN SHANGHAI, CHINA
Actor Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith,11, kicked it in Shanghai, China for the premiere of the ‘The Karate Kid’ on June 18, 2010.
If you’re worried that Jaden is becoming a child star too soon, too fast, do not fret. Jaden’s mom, Jada Pinkett-Smith, has said that she and Will are not at all worried about their children becoming child stars:
” …As parents we’re following our children’s lead and this is what they want. I always knew whatever Will and I produced together in terms of children would pretty much be doing exactly what they’re doing right now. So it’s not really a surprise to us. Luckily we have enough knowledge and understanding to help guide them along on this path. It’s been a lot of fun and interesting watching them blossom as actors (Source).”
Jada is also currently promoting her new show “Hawthorne,” which begins its second season on June 22

jaden is sooo adorable! I went to go see the karate kid and it was soooo good!…I almost cryed when jaden was crying about hating china and wanting to go home( remember dat part) lol…BUT anyway I give jaden a big hand clap for what he has accomplished…he is a young star in the making!

what are they talking about? their children not becoming child-stars? they are already…now if they mean get in touch with the wrong people and into drugs and stuff…like other child-stars have done before them….I hope it won´t happen and pray it won´t happen….all I see is a tired BOY……Jaden is already a good actor…but it just makes me grind my teeth when i see this exposure
Does anyone no why Willow smith is nominated for a BET award and not Jaden i dont understand why? i dont think she will be getting much acting roles with her new hairstyle which has grown on me.

That comment by Jada further convey that “their” children’s vision they are referring to are actually their own visions.
I have not seen the movie & am in no rush to, however, I can imagine how hard Jaden worked. Making a movie is hard work, regardless of how well it does. So I give him props for that.
As for the Smiths, I’m over them.

yeah i agree. there is such a thing as too much exposure. this is not hating on him, but to overload a child emotionally at such a tender ageis bound to have detrimental effects later in life.

Is it just me or does Jaden only wear leather jackets?
I have a feeling that kid is going to be worn out by the time he is 16. After this film, he will have loads of acting projects to be working on, since now, like his dad he is a box office star and this may not be all good for him. Everywhere he goes now, there are going to be cameras and autographs waiting to be signed, and whilst that may sound appealing, it is not always good for such a young kid to get to terms with. I mean, Will was at least in his late teens when he became a proper star. He stil has the right parents to help him along the way though.
I still agree with many who have said his parents should have waited a little longer before bringing him into the acting world. His dad is the biggest movie star in the world, so his son would obviously get noticed and hyped before he’s even started.
I heard he was home-schooled as well, not sure i agree with the way the Smith’s are raising Willow and Jaden. Too much like adults.

yeah the movie was really good. Jaden did a good job, and obviously your still gonna hear about it, the movie is still premiering in other countries so its only natural they are traveling around and promoting it. Jaden is really talented and he’s only going to get better as he matures and gets older. love the Smith fam
I thought Karate Kid was EXCELLENT, and I loved how the kids in the theater cheered at the end! I thought Jackie Chan did a great job as well, and should be commended on a great acting performance in this movie!

Jaden is so cute. I actually liked Karate Kid. It was a good movie but it wasn’t a great movie. I feel like I didn’t waste my 8 bucks going to see it.
