A pregnant Alicia Keys joins hands with her fiance Swizz Beatz during a traditional ceremony in South Africa.
“Alicia Keys has had her unborn child blessed in a traditional Zulu ceremony while in South Africa for the World Cup.
The Grammy award-winning singer, who is around five months pregnant, joined hands with music producer fiance Swizz Beatz for the outdoor blessing near Durban, on the country’s eastern coast.
Wearing tribal beads, Alicia and her baby were given Zulu names while standing under a fig tree known as the ‘healing tree’ by locals who believe it brings good fortune and health.
The star, 29, had the ritual performed by female elders on Wednesday after arriving in South Africa the previous week to headline the World Cup Kick-Off Concert in Johannesburg.
The R&B diva was given a blue robe to cover her shoulders, while Swizz, 31, donned a red sarong and leopard print sash.

@Nappykat-I don’t understand why people jump to offense, when someone speaks the truth. I didn’t call her a homewrecker, neither did Db. But, there is a difference, the difference being living a lifestyle of sin with no repentence. You can not live a lifestyle of sin and say you have repented. Repentence means to turn from. So, that is where grace comes in. If I sin and ask for forgiveness and really reprent (and turn from my sin) then, I truly reprented and have been forgiven by God. That being said, from what we know about this situation, Alicia has been living a lifestyle of sin. This is not me judging her, but just speaking the facts. Yes, I do sin and I do repent for my sins. I do believe that God is a forgiving God. But, I’m not holding Alicia up on a pestal for the decisions she has made. Alicia is not going to get a pass fro God because she is a celebrity, if anything she may be helf more accountable. She is in a position to change lives for the good. Instand, she can easily influence young folks to do wrong. I am not going to sugarcoat it to make anyone happy. She is the one who chose to be a celebrity, not me. What I will do is just wish her blessings and for God to open her eyes where she is blind.

Sorry, gotta agree with Nappykat here- Nicole, you said that Alicia is “living in sin”, and that you’re not judging her by saying so, but just stating a fact. But it isn’t a fact, it’s an opinion. And a judgment as well- your first post asked why people accept Alicia’s situation, which implies that you don’t, and think no one else should either, unless she repents. But when did Alicia’s “salvation” become my responsibility? Who am I to tell her what she needs to do to have her peace- we am so limited in our human minds and bodies that we can’t see past ourselves, and I have no business telling someone else what to do until I am one with them and God. And this is where I think Christians have gone astray.
Your opinion seems to be based on your religion, Nicole, which is as subjective as it gets. In Buddhism or Sufism, Alicia isn’t committing any “sin”, and neither is Swizz. I think it’s the superior angle that so many Christians/Jews/Muslims come with that rub so many people the wrong way. It seems people are always trying to tell other people how to live and love, even though it’s based on someone else’s interpretation of what’s right- it usually has nothing to do with God. Religion seems to move people farther away from God, rather than closer to it.
I believe the object in life is learn to love and live without fear, as God loves- and people always get caught up in stupid made-up rules and semantics. We are ALL blind, every last one of us on here… we can just try wishing them the best, and move on.

During the time of bible writing, was english being spoken? As a Catholic, we were taught that bible was written in Latin(whether that be true or not) and words spoken can easily be lost in translation, ergo, one cannot say that these are the true words of God without being able to hear or translate directly for oneself. Any reading is open to interpretation. I can glean something different than another in the reading of the same material. I see some wash feet in church when I was a child and the church said that if you don’t wash feet then you are not true to what the bibles tells you. My interpretation would be that the parable of washing feet is to show humbleness. People talk about the word of God and the word of Christ but they take a small thing like communion where Christ turned water into wine for communion and take out the wine and substitute “grape juice” as if they know better than Christ”. I notice this being done with many things as a system of control. There is much that I question in the practice of religion and so I find myself more individual in my relationship with God and not into the “outside show” as I see it. Again, I do believe in God, but that is my personal belief and I have no right to force that belief or condem anyone who does not believe the same.

The relationship has ended let it go, it is not healthy. I ve never heard Swizz or Alicia bashing Mashonda but she always have some thing bad to say. 1).You ask when did I meet Jesus? That was my Dasmacus Road!
When I repented of my sins and was filled with his Holy Spirit. That same Holy Spirit that is still alive 12 years later and leading. That doesn’t allow me to become reprobate, again, and lean to my own understanding opposed to what he has revealed clearly in his WORD (Translated – Bible).
2).When did I have an opportunity to discuss their situation?
When after reading the post,his “WORDS”, that he has blessed me to retain in my heart, immediately rose up and began to remind me that their actions are contrary to his will and he isn’t pleased!
3). What did he say about the situations I have been in?
The same thing he told the woman at the well – who had many men
but wasn’t married to anyone. You have been forgiven – go and sin no more. Go and be a blessing to someone who doesn’t know the truth. As for bringing God into this situation – he is viable in everything (OMNIPRESENT & OMNIPOTENT). If not for the grace of God I’d still be in my mess.

But you had the choice of finding this out for yourself and you know what was given to you because you were aware of your situation. that does not mean that the same encounter would be met in the same fashion with Alicia. How do you know that she hasn’t settled her situation with her beliefs in the same way that you settled yours. That’s the reason that I find this not a religious situation but a social one that uses more social morays in opinion stating than in real knowledge. if you are going to look at it from a religous point of view, I would think you would have to look at it from a different prespective. If the love and committment to his wife has left him, is he really married to her. If in the social perspective, then he is married to her as far as the law is concerned. which means he has to deal with and settle the financial situation. Remember the “render unto Caesar that which is his and to me, that which is mind”? The legal paper is that of Caesar not God.

So would it make things better in the eyes of God (by their definition) if Swizz was divorce before he got with Alicia? I don’t think so, but it would look better to THEM if that was the case.
It’s the same as people being pregnant & marrying before the baby is born. Just because the child wasn’t born out of wedlock, does not negate the sin of fornication.

I can tell you, you have never truly MET God. You may have been saved but you have never stood in His presence face to face & met Him to discuss anything, much less Alicia & Swizz.
