NE-YO IS EXPECTING HIS FIRST CHILD
R&B crooner Ne-Yo is expecting his first child with girlfriend Monyetta Shaw, the singer confirms to EbonyJet.
“I am 30 and I do have my first child on the way, and I’m very, very, very excited about that,” he says. “It’s a New Year’s baby and I’m just in a really good place right now.”
The couple, who are rumored to be engaged, do not know the sex of their baby as of yet.
Ne-yo’s upcoming album Libra Scale is due out on September 21, 2010.

Right!!! I know none of us are perfect but it seems that everybody is having babies and nobody is getting married! Our kids look up to most of these celebrities and they are not being good role models!!! All the women are so and so fiance forever.

It is really sad that marriage is not what it used to be. No one takes it seriously like they did in the 70′s and back. If it is not the men cheating it is the women. Even more sad is that we have to worry about not just our men with women… but with each other and now the girls gots girls too. It is sad and I do not see myself geting married in this life time. SMH, then we have to deal with the step kids and baby daddy drama….baby momma drama~
In the biblical days there were more than one wife, we just need to get to where we can have more than one husband. Get over it and live your life… Protect yourself whilst you do so too~
I am 34 with a two year old that I had with my best friend, no expectations from him $$ wise. I knew what I was getting myself into and the reality of our generation~

The sad part is Ne-yo was just out on a date with another girl. They posted pictures on another site. So, I’m wondering whether they are still together. I just hope he gets a blood test, the people from her hometown, have very very bad things to say about this girl. But, maybe she has changed her life around or they could be untrue.
I also agree with the other ladies, get married and get to know your partner first. It takes a life time to really get to know someone. Even though it is not a gaurantee, but at least it is done in order, it is a start, and right in the eyes of God. Then, alot of these paternity testing places would shut down. Alot of these people are having babies and don’t even know the guys last name. Sad, but true.

Yeah, I agree with Tanisha and Jade. Personally, I think I would want to get married before I have kids. I think, that I would want to live with him first and see how he is, and maybe we’ll think about kids later, cause they are a lifelong responsibility, and thats a long time to be stuck to somebody that you dont necessarily like; just because you guys have a kid together!
I thought that with the first child Ne-Yo knew he wasn’t the dad but decided to sign the birth certificate anyway and raise him? Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought that’s what I read! Anywho, congrats to these 2 – marriage doesn’t guarantee anything so I don’t see the big deal!
I hate to goat-mouth this post, but I hope this time he’s 100% certain that it’s his child gestating in there. I’m just thinking about what happened the last time. Not being a hater (man, I despise that word!), but I’m just saying.

I agree with Jade. That is the problem in society….marriage first then babies. It is just how it is to be! Come on people, even if you are thinking that way, don’t promote it. You should still raise your children to fall in love with the right person, get married and then have kids even if you didn’t do it yourself you should install the morals in them anyway!

Ne-Yo was raising the child b/c he thought it was his & was supporting the mother until he found out the child wasn’t his. There was big drama surrounded it b/c she still wanted money.

Some people don’t believe in marriage anymore b/c it’s not what it use to be. Some people see marriage as a contract, especially when your a celeb. I’m all for marriage though, but its up too the 2 parties involved. He shouldn’t be looked down b/c of his choice.
In that case, I think the mother tried to pull a fast one. DNA tests showed that he did not father that baby.

you didnt know people dont do that anymore?(sarcastic). babies are good but why not get married first? i mean dont you want to be sure that you really know this person. there is as strong commitment involved with marriage. i think that people just dont want that responsibility anymore.
