LIFESTYLE: THE JACKSON KIDS ENROLL AT THE BUCKLEY SCHOOL

It’s back to school for 13-year-old Prince and 12-year-old Paris Jackson! Michael Jackson’s two kids are no longer being homeschooled and are currently enrolled at The Buckley School in California.

The Buckley school is a college preparatory day school located in Sherman Oaks, in the San Fernando Valley portion of the City of Los Angeles, California.  Buckley is known as a prestigious school which stands on a “4-Fold Plan of Education”: academic training, creative self-expression, physical development and moral education. So how much does it cost to attend the private school?

Kindergarten through grade five $25,769/year

Grades six through twelve $29,010/ year

In addition to tuition, there are fees for laboratory and art supplies, uniforms for interscholastic athletics, etc.  Also, first-time students will be charged an additional non-refundable $2,000 fee.

Well, at least 8-year-old Blanket will be saving the Jackson family some money — he’s still going to be homeschooled.

By the way, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Matthew Perry, Alyssa Milano, Nicole Richie, Nicollette Sheridan , and Laura Dern are all alums of the school.

Kim K., Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie…those girls turned out GREAT! Real pillars of society. Think I should sell a lung and enroll my kids.

I agree. That’s not something I would pride my school’s reputation around. But I guess they want to be around other kids and that’s about the closest they’ll ever get to “real” school.

Lol, sell a lung! Thanks for making my day:)

Then again, Alyssa Milano and Matthew Perry were successes so they stand a chance. I wish them well in their new school.

Mattew Perry was addicted to speed, methadone, vicodin, and alcohol. I think it’s safe to say Alyssa was the only one that made it out OK. LOL Hopefully the children will make some new lifelong friends other than their cousins. Speaking of cousins, I wonder if Jermaine’s two youngest will be attending as well. IDK if they were homeschooled or not.

^^^^^^well it has nothing to do with the school it has to do with how you raise your kids…you cant keep these kids in a bubble they need to be out around other kids besides family. They dont need to grow up and become naive adults that is how you get taken advantage of.Kids are going to come into contact with peer pressure on a regular basis only thing you can do is teach them right from wrong and hope that they apply what you taught them when that time comes.Im glad they are going to regular school good luck

ITA! why is this school being blamed for how these people act??? point the finger at the way they were raised. they were not in school 24/7/365! and it was not their responsibility after they graduated – those that actually did!! LOL

At least they’ll be around other kids besides their family. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but this way they can make their own friends. I wonder why they didn’t send Blanket also, maybe their waiting until he gets a little older. The tuition is high for everday people but with all the money Micheal left and is still earning after his death they can afford it!

I’m happy that the kids are moving on with some normalcy of life. Buckley is a good school. Most kids graduate and go on to Ivy League universities and successful careers. The exceptions are the Kim Kardashians and Paris Hiltons who graduate into sex tapes and stupid reality shows.

I don’t see how homeschooling Blanket will save them money. He will have a full-time tutor for at least another year; tutors are expensive. I’m sure next year Blanket will join his siblings at Buckley was they have a lower school also. Good for them. They will be just fine.

why would they have to do that? the kids genetics(being half black) does that for them. Unfortunately poor Prince Michael might not be able to tan in the future as he inherited vitiligo from his father Michael.

exactly they aren’t as white as people make them out to be, they have a white mother but they had a black father too. Biracial kids come in all colors, saying the jackson family is keeping them tan is ridiculous.

I wish the kids well in school, i know some of their cousins went there and went on to college. I also hope they get to ahve fun and meet friends who like them for who they are as people.

They are “tan” because of genetics. That was an odd statement.

Whew..that tuition is high but they can afford it. As far as the slums that they mentioned, I don’t think that was a good example. Both Paris and Prince are intelligent so I think they will turn out better than Nicole and Kim K. i Think socialization and being around other kids will be good for them.

Re: Paris Hilton – Did that chick even graduate from high school?

Anyway, let’s not blame Buckley for how the ’80s born celebutarts turned out. Buckley didn’t birth and raise them – or not raise them, as the case may be. As long as the Jackson 3 have Mama Katherine raising them properly, they should be fine.

i get that the jackson kids can attend public school for security reasons. but i know in private school those kids ave hi tech expensive camera phones & all that. so they will too violate the kids privacy. good luck.

every school has some bad apples. the buckley overall is a very goo school and most of their graduates go on to ivy league schools. Many of the other Jackson grandkids went to buckley. Randy’s daughter steveana went there and she’s at Harvard now. titos kids went there, and so did 2 of Jermaines sons. The kids will be fine.

must be Jeremy and Jourdynn coz the youngest two (Alejandra’s) don’t go there. Judging by Margaret Maldonado’s autobiography (the mother of Jeremy and Jourdynn) Michael helped a lot when Jermaine dogged her and his kids…same as he did for Tito’s kids when Tito left Dee Dee…so i reckon he put them through the school same as he did 3T =) Just a theory!

Good for the kids that they are attending a “normal” school now. Maybe their life will be enriched by the experience. As far as the tuition, I don’t think it’s that bad. Maybe it’s because here in the DC area that’s par for the course.

I rather their money be spent on something important like their education than on Alejandra.

I wish them well. Blanket should attends as well.

I think it’s great that they will finally get a chance to have some type of normal school experience. They will probably enjoy it. I just don’t know how Michael would feel about it, wasn’t he strongly against it? But I guess since Mama Jackson said that they wanted to go. It’s what they wanted.

Sure we can’t blame the school for Paris, Nicole and Kim because it is their parents fault for letting them do as they want. However once you get around other kids who are rich and don’t understand or aren’t used to the word “no” that’s were the trouble begins. Katherine Jackson isn’t a young woman anymore, I just hope those children don’t get badly influenced.

School doesn’t have a dayum thing to do with the way a child turns out. That is up to the parent/parents and their home environment. At least they weren’t spitting out babies as teenagers like so many public school girls do. So sick of people thinking it is the job of the teacher to take care of your child. The teacher’s job is to teach and that is it!!!! I am very happy for Prince and Paris, they are now leading a somewhat normal life style. It was not healthy for MJ to have kept these kids cooped up. They would have been so naive to the world, anyone could have took them for their wealth.

Journalist. They are handpicking the ones who had troubles and trying to make a point. Whatever! Same ole same ole. Yes, we’ve all seen the great pillars of society come out of “regular” public schools as well. As far as I can see they weren’t raised as god for nothing BRATS like most Hollywood kiddies. I wish them the best! They can afford the best schools money can buy. I hope they make their father proud. Blanket aka Michael II needs more time, he is still too young…he will follow suit later Im sure. Good luck kids!

    To stick up for Michael..

I knew a girl who was homeschooled her entire life. I forgot what the issue was but something happened and she had to get a Diploma thru public education…so she attended Adult Ed. Could I just tell you how well mannered and how much that chick had a grip on life. She was well educated, and had this crazy amount of proper social skill better than any fool in that class. Believe that. And now talk about an awakening, she went from homeschooling to an Adult Ed classroom. And you’d never it. Never did she act better than nobody or nothing. She acted like a ‘normal person’. So I don’t know why ya’ll act as if, them kids been locked up and woulda been ‘so naive to the world’…I bet what they were being taught was just the opposite.

People just act like Michael had his kids locked up at Neverland while he was alive. They wore masks only when then went out with him if they were a lot of paparazzi. Before he died they were out without out masks because they were 11 and 12. If Michael were alive now, I’m sure the masks would be gone. Maybe he would have even discussed private school after his tour was done who knows. Home school is still school. Michael’s kids are bright because of the education the received at home.

Exactly. Shoootttt, if that’s what they calling being ‘locked up’, in that place, I wouldn’t mind.

Too bad the ignorant had to vilify it, and it’s too bad that after the fact, people like Jermaine & Larry King, praise it, now..

Prince and Paris went to a private school in Ireland by the way and they have always lived a normal life considering their father was the most famous man in the world. They were not cooked up and only wore the mask when they were with him so they could go out and not be recognized when they were with others.

School is school. The only difference from a public school and this one is the tuition and the gate in the front. I went to school from elementary through seventh, and most days I hated life so much iit was a production just to get myself out of bed. It didn’t matter where I went, over priced private schools, chater schools, public schools. The brochure says there’s a difference but there isn’t. MJ knew what he was doing, school now a days is unbearable. Those kids were homeschooled because he trusted no one else with the education of his children, not to seperate them or seclude them and taking on that much of an interset in your child is noble, if anything else.

Personally, I went to public school but would have rather had home schooling. I rarely had teachers help me in a class of 30-STUDENTS! I had gotten many bad grades and I really believe it’s (Partially) to do with having a teacher who had NO TIME to help me. I don’t know what private school is like but hopefully they get lots of attention from their teachers.
