Leni’s hair is in ponytails but Lou’s isnt, what is that about. I just wish Heidi would try to do something….

You know the world is in big trouble when the only thing people could comment on is a little girl’s hair not being in ponytails.

I love her little afro. It’s too short to do anything else with it right now anyways.

Pulling her hair tightly just so it can be in a ponytail is not good for her scalp.

All these kids are so adorable.before anybody even starts Lou’s hair is fine she’s a baby she’s does not need 355566 tight pulling hair things in her head. She’s a baby she’s fine. As long as she’s clean, fed and well taken care of and most important LOVED nothing elese really matters.

Some people must think that barrettes or hair pins were invented by and worn by Black people only. Well, that’s not the case and hair ornaments have been around and worn by all races for a long time.

People should not stereotype. Who is the Black billionaire that owns the barrette industry? I don’t think there is one.

I agree. I really don’t like seeing little girls w/ 63287 barrets in their head. Especially girls Lou’s age. I’ve seen parents pulling their baby’s hair back in to ponytails & they grow up not having edges lol. Lou’s hair is fine. I’ve seen plenty of black children rocking afros and no one ever complains, but when its a white mother with a mixed child people want to say she not taking care of their hair smh.

I love Leni’s outfit, its so cute. I’m loving Johan’s curls too, they seem so bouncy lol

I concur I hate seeing little babies with 97874578665 million snaps in their hair. NO MATTER WHAT RACE! One bow in the front looks cute and there is nothing wrong with leaving it out. The kids are beautiful and trust when the get to the age when they want to wear their hair a specific way they will tell you LOL.

Heidi and Seal have always been a beautiful couple I wish them and their family the best of luck. Hope the kids had fun at the party.

Lou is so pretty! I bet she’s one of those babies who hates shoes like many of them do. I like the loose style but I’m ready to see her with some little pony tails.

Awww…the look on Lou’s face as Seal places her in the car, love it. Leni looks adorable. Can’t see Jonah’s face, but loving the hair.

Ok, the nannies at a b-day party is a bit much for me, but like this family.

why is it that when bck refers to “Leni” its alwas Hedi and Seals daughter but when it comes to like Diddy and Quincy or T.I. and Zonnique etc… its always there “Bonus” child…. if a man is taking the role of daddy then it shouldnt matter if its there biological child or not….

    Flag this

    • Trisha September 2, 2010 at 1:47 pm

I think its b/c Seal actually adopted Leni where T.I & Diddy didn’t.

Exactly what i was gonna say. Helene’s dad gave up his right as her father and she is now a Samuel just like her siblings and parents.

Zonniqe calls T.I. her step dad. Her father is in her life. T.I. says he has six kids, so we can probably stop calling her his bonus child as he does count her in the grand total.

Quincy calls Diddy is father and Diddy counts him as his son…always saying he has six kids, but we still say it’s his bonus child…this should stop.

Why would people feel it needs to be “tamed” and “controlled” if they didn’t have a problem with it.

The very idea that people would submit a child that young to the torture of having her head worked on so extensively seems cruel to me. But – some folks also think it’s ok to slather chemicals on their scalps till it starts to smoke…

Lovely family! Very happy to see the children so obviously loved and adored. But…. I do wish that they’d hire someone of African-_______ ethnicity. It would probably go a long way in helping the kids to understand their ethnic heritage. And she would likely provide ethinic advice to Heidi on bi-racial hair care as well as racial matters.

They are not a “black family.” Saying that is basically shutting out Heidi and Leni and denying the other half of lou, johan and henry. I find your comment offensive.

They are a beautiful Biracial/mixed race family.

Great looking family, especially cute little Lou. :) Here’s hoping Heidi will put at least one clip in her hair before she turns 1, so that certain people can start sleeping well at night. <_<

No wonder traction alopecia is so common among black girls and women. Their little hair is barely grown in before it’s being yanked left and right in the name of style. God forbid they should be allowed to go style or accessory free for at least the first year of their life!

I agree. Emphasis on her not being even a year yet. Baby has a nice head of soft fluffy curls. What are people seeing? Am I blind. There is plenty of time for the trinkets and butter whipping if Heidi so pleases.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate and say if Lenis hair can be styled in 2 little pony tails then what about the others… hahaha I kid, I kid.

Personally I think their hair is beautiful no matter how it’s styled. Lovely family.

Look at Lou… you can tell she’s a daddys girl.. Awww she’s getting big.. And she either has a tan or is getting darker.. Either way… she is a cutie pie… and I get what people are saying… it would be cute if she had a clip or two.. But everything in time. I see some natural people on here throwin words.. But some of you guys were probably wearing clips and perms before you guys became naturals.. I don’t know about anyone else but… those barretts and clip are all about being a baby, being a child.. Because now a days little girls stop wearing barretts and such right between 9 and 10. And you can’t go back once the time has passed.

    • gunnysgirl September 4, 2010 at 11:58 pm

I don’t think that baby needs any clips. Why can’t her hair stay free right now?

I agree gunnysgirl leave her hair alone at least it isn’t looking like Madonna adopted daughter’s head!

You know what and I hope black women don’t get offended but the reason why a lot of your little girls have a heard time with hair growth is because SOME of you are so quick to slap extensions, bows and other sugar that can cause damage into their heads.

and the above opinion is coming from a man who has seen a lot of black women have hair as children but once they reach about 10 years of age the become bald head and can no longer grow hair because of their mother’s hair abuse.

Question #1: Who invented barrettes so that Lou could one day wear them?

Question #2: Who invented clippers so that her Daddy (Seal) could shave all his nappy hair off one day?

Answer to Questions #1 and 2: GOD!

In the photo, both Lou’s Mom and sister have in their hair “hair thingies” they’ve used to secure their hair away from their faces. I think when the time comes, Heidi and Leni both will know how to use the same “hair things” ( scrungies, rubber bands, ribbons, barrettes) they use to tie back their hair on Lou’s hair.

Especially if it ever grows long enough to be needed kept out of her face.

When you buy such hair accessories at stores, they don’t stipulate what race you have to be to use them. Or the grade or texture of hair needed.

Enough about a baby’s hair, natural is the best thing, who really likes their hair constricted? I let my “fro” go! I used to be a slave to pony tails holders, relaxers and straightening combs, even flat irons, but I decided that my hair looks better and my head (scalp) feels better when it is free. We should be happy with who we are and not try to conform to everyone else ideas on what is beautiful… or at least try not to push our ideas on others who decide to go their own way-let the baby be a baby…
