WILL SMITH CHEERS ON HIS SON

treysmithpeace

Actor Will Smith cheered on his eldest son 17-year-old Willard Christoper Smith III, known as Trey(pictured), at his high school football match yesterday. According to the DailyMail, the actor enjoyed every minute of the game as he watched his son’s team, Oaks Christian High School, play against St. Bonaventure High school in Ventura, California last night:

“The 42-year-old Men In Black actor clapped and cheered throughout the game which saw Oaks Christian come back from 19 – 0 to 19 – 14 before drawing 26 – 26 and heading into overtime. Accompanied by a group of his friends, the star got no preferential treatment at the high school and stood in the stands with the rest of the students and parents. It didn’t seem to bother Will though who cheered and chanted along with everyone else.”

“During overtime both teams scored a touchdown but in the dying seconds of the game St Bonaventure missed a conversion kick to get an extra point, losing them the game and sending the Christian Oaks crowd, including Will, into a frenzy. (Source)”

Trey is Smith’s son from his first marriage to actress Sheree Zampino.

Awww…..that is so sweet. Trey seems like a sweetheart.

I love the fact that it seems that Will will support his children in anything they desire to do (not only acting) and not force them to take the showbiz route like he took. You really can’t compare Trey’s upbringing to Jaden and Willows. Of course it seems he is more grounded because we don’t see him as much and so far he has not made the choice to go down the showbiz route. I definitely don’t believe the kids differences are because of Jada vs. Sheree’s parenting techniques. Trey is not photoed a lot and they are and will continue to be, even if they hadn’t ever did a movie nor an album. There is a HUGE difference, Sheree nor her spouse are famous actors who are hounded by the paps, have to remain relevant and travel abroad to promote their occupations. Perfect example of this, are the pics above. Will is not being an actor but a father, is enjoying his son’s game like I’m sure a lot of other parents were and pics are still taken and posted all over the net. I’m pretty sure Sheree and/or her husband have been to numerous of Trey’s games, where are the pics of them doing something as normal and low key as cheering their son/stepson on?

Will and Jada choose to keep their family together, so the entire family goes to support whomever is working so Jaden and WIllow have been around showbiz/in the spotlight, traveling around the world since birth. I don’t see the big deal of them wanting to seek the same professions both of their parents have, lots of children do. My aunt and uncle are teachers and so is one of their daughters, my mother is a RN and so is my sister, my grandfather was in the military and so was my father.

      Very well explained, beautee.

I thought that I was the only one in thinking that the younger two children are a bit full of themselves but Trey is very down to earth and boy is he “Hot” :-)

I think Trey’s humble and low-profile attitude is because of his mom because the kids Will has with Jada are arrogant and are all about show business. Trey mom seems like she not trying to make her son a star or put him out there the only time he is ever photograph is when he with Will and Jada, she must want him to have a very normal childhood and focus on other thing beside stardom.

i,too, think that she has alot to do with that!! good for her – because looking at his other two kids would scare me,too!! i love that he loves his son so much!! and not every parent would be able to make that kind of trip but even some with as much money if not more than will don’t go to those lengths. so money is not always the answer here either. he is a good dad – period!

I remember watching the last Oprah interview with the Smith family this June, and Oprah mentioning that while filming for the new ‘Karate Kid’, Will would fly all the way from China to see Trey play. Oprah got really emotional about that. I thought it was beautiful too and I nearly cried (lol).
He was half way around the world, but he didn’t use that as an excuse to not see his son play. Wow.
We all know that Will is highly passionate, and I can definitely see it in the photos. =)
Will’s an amazing man and Trey is handsome. It’s been so long since the “Just the Two of Us” video! Trey really looks like Will too. =)

Yeah but you have to remember Will Smith can afford to do that.

I can bet you that most parents would do that if they had the money to.

I hated when Oprah was going on about that, when Will Smith is loaded and a 1st class trip to the US will be nothing for him whilst in China. I am not saying he’s not a good dad (he clearly is) but when your rich, your life is so much easier with your children.

thats so sweet i love the fact that he makes time even for the little things with his eldest son, thats wonderful especially with all the things jaden annd willow are doing, its great to see that trey hasnt been put on the back burner. i love will smith. he gets brownie points for being a great dad, in this day and age alot of men need to take a page from dads like will that shows the positive side of being a father because their is no negative.

  • Leesa September 29, 2010 at 8:53 pm

Love Will Smith and happy to see him support his eldest and most normal child. The kids with Jada are as arrogant and untalented as their mother. I do with Trey the very best, he certainly got Will Smith looks.

    • TheLadiesRoomTV October 1, 2010 at 2:27 pm

@Leesa – I’m not affiliated with BCK but I know for a fact that this sight doesn’t support negative comments about children! I know, I know..Freedom of Speech but what’s your maturity level??!

    • TheLadiesRoomTV October 1, 2010 at 2:30 pm

Wooow, just reading the comments I have to think…What’s the world coming to when people begin to hate on kids!!!

  • Zee September 29, 2010 at 7:32 pm

Awesome post,BCK! Trey is a kid I’d love to see featured more on this and other sites. He seems to be refreshingly humble and grounded, unlike many celeb teens/tweens we see often. And did I mention cute?!? I believe his spirit makes him even more attractive than he already is. It is evident that his parents have done great job raising him!
I also loved seeing Will in such candid and relatable moments; in these pics he’s not Will the actor, he’s simply Dad cheering on his talented son. Priceless.

  • TheLadiesRoomTV September 29, 2010 at 3:40 pm

Nice pics!!! That looks like Jada’s brother in the pic w/ the red hoody!!!!

    • Nik November 5, 2010 at 10:24 am

I’m way late, but I that is Jada’s brother! I remember when he guest starred on All Of Us.

  • Solene September 29, 2010 at 3:10 pm

I have to admit I can’t stand the way the younger Smith kids behave, showy and tacky (especially for their age), and it’s pleasing to see Trey so humble and low-profile. Also, he’s a handsome young man, I wish him the best.

  • seankordw September 29, 2010 at 1:58 pm

OK I am so late I thought Will was short for William not Willard. Either way it’s great to see Will envolved with his kids weither it’s movies, music, or sports!

  • BrwnSantiLove September 29, 2010 at 1:10 pm

    Aww beautiful…thats great

  • Mena September 29, 2010 at 11:38 am

Cool. I hear this is a really good school. Maybe he will go to college and play there then go pro.

  • LisaLisa September 29, 2010 at 10:43 am

Yeah I head that he traveled back to Cali each week from China where Jaden was filming just to see Trey play. What a DAD!!!!! Got to love them!!!

  • Kirsten September 29, 2010 at 10:37 am

He’s a handsome boy and it’s kind of cool that he didn’t want to be in the acting industry. He’s just a normal, teeanager. I wish him all the best.

  • EVELINA RAE September 29, 2010 at 10:00 am

How cute is Trey? I’m glad Wil supports his children equally, this is very positive :)

  • NaiyaJ September 29, 2010 at 10:00 am

This made me :) !!!!! Love it
