JACKSON KIDS TO APPEAR ON THE OPRAH SHOW
The late Michael Jackson’s kids Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12 and Blanket, 8, are set to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show on Monday(November 8th). The children, who have never been interviewed before, will appear on the show with their grandparents Katherine and Joe Jackson.
Katherine ,who is the legal guardian of the three children, happily spoke to Oprah about her son’s legacy, his children, his childhood, and much more. The show was filmed in the family’s Encino home.
“I found out Oprah was at our family home, my stomach ached and it still hasn’t gone away,” Michael Jackson’s brother Randy Jackson recently wrote on his Twitter page.
He continued, “I had no prior knowledge this was going to happen. It was deliberately kept from me because they knew i would have tried to stop it. I know how Oprah feels about my brother and family. I also know that he would not have wanted this in fact, she is the last person on earth he would want around his children. I can never forget when she had the show on pedophilia during the jury deliberation process in my brother’s Santa Maria case. That was no coincidence.”

I don’t think it was appropriate for the children to be interviewed. Quite frankly, I don’t think they should speak to the public until they are adults. In my opinion, this was poor judgement on Mrs. Jackson’s part. Even if the kids wanted to be on the show, the ultimate decision was not made by them, but their grandmother.
I don’t know enough about Randy and what he knows and doesn’t know, so I’m not going to comment on his Twitter postings. It’s been apparent for quite some time that there are problems in this family. I find it very odd that none of the other siblings has said anything about this interview. The fact that Jermaine and LaToya, the most outspoken sibs, haven’t made any comment is odd.
Well its not anyones right to judge. From what Ive heard about what the kids said in the interview they WANTED to talk about their dad and their memories of him and thats there RIGHT as his children. They loved him dearly and miss him A LOT!! Ill be watching it later when it comes on here but it said the last thing Oprah asked was “what do u miss the most” and Paris said “everything”. Now if that dont break your heart nothing will. People have so much hate in their hearts and so much ignorance and those KIDS arent stupid they know the stuff being said about their father and those who are so hateful and ignorant to bleieve it. It pains me to know they have now been passed this burden to bear in their lives as they grow up. But they stand proud and tall as Jackson kids and they will never let anyone put down their Dad. They knew the REAL Micheal Jackson and nothing anyone says or thinks will change that. And Katherine is doing a amazing job for being her age and dealing with all the crap that has come her way in the past over year. She desearves some credit for god sake!!
randy was telling the truth oprah always had something negative to say about mj. thats the reason why i stopped watching her show.

I agree with you. Oprah is usually non-judgmental with the folks she interviews, but with Michael unfortunately, it was not so. She interviewed him already believing the surgery myths (that he had cheek implants & bleached his skin).
After he died, she replayed that interview & pointed out how she pre-judged him & how she regrets not reaching out a hand to him when he was getting bullied by the media about things he was proven to be innocent of.
I lost respect for her when I saw that, but I regained admiration because she was honest enough to admit that she was wrong. I think it bothered her for a long time, until she got it off her chest.
What I learned from the death of Michael Jackson, is that the media is a lie based business where money, not truth, is the deciding factor. The sad thing is, they know how to make a story believable, they’re so good at what they do. In the case of Michael’s children, they go as far as to airbrush the kids’ photos to make them look lighter, as in white. I also learned that when we judge a person, we usually get it wrong.
I do not think oprah deserves this access, she did not respect michael when he was here now out of the cold blue she wants to have a change of heart? I wonder why, oh yeah, because he is now deceased so now he’s become the fascination again. I feel so bad for michael because of all he endured from the negative press, but here is a reality check folks, no one is perfect weather you want to admit it or not we all have abit of weirdness instilled normalization does not exist on this earth as far as I’m concerned. For the poster(s) who have stated that oprah has not bad-mouth Mike in her profession? my questions are “where have you been and which shows did you watch?” She disrespected him and I do not think it’s fair on his behalf that his family let alone his children should be opened to her, she has her agenda’s. I wish that Michael’s wishes where kept at least until the children gotten much older to have the rights of making their own life decisions but what can you do now?
I’m not an Oprah fan but I do believe she thought Michael was guilty but I never believed he was. Michael stated in an interview that he wanted to bring his kids on stage. I believe Michael was working them in on being in public without their faces being covered. I see it like this they are getting older and from Katherine’s own mouth she has said Paris wants to be an actress and Prince wants to direct movies.
@hope6 when michael was alive, his kids were around him all the time because they were his kids, and being that he was so popular and got attention every where he go, he did not want his kids to be caught up in that, thats why he had them wearing masks to hide their faces. it’s not that they were never alive and couldnt be free, it’s because they father was extremely popular and got so much attention , he had to protect his kids with all his might.
I think some of you are overreacting. These kids have to grow up at some time or another. They are getting older; they are living in the real world now. Sheltering them will not prepare them for the would and will handicap them if they stay hidden away. They are normal children (yes, they were raised by the greatest entertainer EVER), but they still live in the same would we all live in. The world is not a box. They are or were all over youtube, weren’t they. No one can convince me that these children don’t want to get out and explore. Let them. Look at the picture above. They look happy and well-adjusted. People keep saying what Michael would do or think. Unfortunately, Michael is gone and they are now in the hands of their loving grandparents. Give them (whom have raised 9 children) and are now raising their children, credit for knowing what’s best for them – moreso than any of us.
CAN WE ALL JUST LOVE ONE OF ANOTHER AND STOP HATING ON YOUR OWN RACE WE SHOULD BE BLESSED, OPRAH IS A BLESSING AND MJ IS WITH THE CREATER.
Keeping those children “captive” isn’t healthy. I adore Michael Jackson but if he had lived, those children would’ve ended up social misfits.

It’s because of they way Michael raised them that they are doing so well. How would they be social misfits? Michael raised them to have faith and to be charitable. Just because they were homeschooled and were more sheltered doesn’t mean they would be misfits.

Michael is deceased…whoever rears those kids can never replace him. When he was alive everyone called him weird for being so extra private and wearing the masks…now that the kids are living normal lives people still complain…
I recall a interview when Michael Jackson commented on being chased by paparazzi, scratched by screaming fans and being afraid people would get out of control in their frenzy to be close to him. Imagine how these same people would do the same to his children. Michael was a hot commodity, the star of the century and new milleneum. He never had a moment of peace from the media unless he was hiding out.
I do not blame him for how he protected his children. Even Debbie Rowe said the masks were “her” idea. So, let’s leave them alone and let them get a taste of their grandparents before they are too old to take care of them. Yes, Joe has always appeared sleazy, but he is old as dirt and Katherine is time enough for him. If they had to be on one talk show, Oprah was probably the best selection and she made them feel very comfortable.
Every one is complaining about this interview, I am not an Oprah fan for many reasons. But who is to say that Michaels children did not make this request to their grandmother about being on the Oprah show.
Maybe the kids feel that this is their only chance of really expressing to the world and Oprah about the kind of person their father really and truly was. Maybe what they have to say will make Oprah look dum who knowns.
As for the way Randy feels that is his right to have those feelings, and honestly I do not blame him.
Oprah did not back Michael one time during his trial, after her interview with him at his home she avoided him like the plague, did not even have the decency to talk to him herself, to hear his side of what actually took place in his home with that child.
Tell you something else, I did not believe it than and I still don’t believe it. This child’s parent thought they had a get rich scheme going on.
I like Oprah but I think she thought Mj was guilty because she once said that no child would be able to make up being molested.
I really believe he was innocent & Ill defend him against anybody because thats how much Love & Respect I have for him.

Robbin, I have a question. Many people are angry at Oprah regarding her treatment of MJ. You mentioned that after the trial, she avoided him? Are you a friend or family member? The reason I ask is that how do WE know if she talked to him or not. If you are a family member, then forgive my inquisitiveness, but if you aren’t, I think we are assuming too much. People are so quick to dislike Oprah (and that’s their choice – no shade), but sometimes I wonder if we, the public, jump to conclusions w/o knowing the fact. Again, if you have some inside information, then I guess you’d know.
Oprah said so herself after MJ died that she felt bad she never reached out to him. apparently she thought he was guilty, but she thinks otherwise now & is a bit sad about having avoided him.
I don’t understand why Randy said anything.. The children are growing up and gonna do what they want in the future anyways.. Hello.. Paris and blanket are all on YouTube.. Their kids so let them be.. People don’t forget the kids were not wearing masks the last year of Michael’s life . His kids probably told him they are tired of the masks. They asked their grandma to go to school they asked to be on the Grammy’s last year according to Lionel Richie, they can make some decisions on their own now.
My perspective is that these kids cannot be hidden forever. When Michael was around, they were wearing masks and scarves to cover their faces. How is that normal for a child to live? I’m sure if Mr. and Mrs. Jackson felt the interview would be harmful to the children, they wouldn’t allow it. Give THEM some credit. They are the grandparents and surely know the kids better than any of us (unless you have some inner workings w/the family).

Michael trusts Kathryn and that’s why he gave her custody in the event of his death. I think she is trying to give them a normal life and people are curious about the kids. She probably asked them if they felt comfortable being interviewed by Oprah. They seem to be down to earth and well adjusted kids.
I look at it this way. When Michael was living the children where dead. Now that Michael’s dead the children are now alive. Sad but true.

They visited zoos, amusement parks, travelled and saw the world. They seem very well rounded, and that’s thanks to their father! I think in today’s world, people feel they have a “right” to know details of celebs’ personal lives.

First of all, you don’t know what Michael “would have wanted”. His children walked around unmasked the last years of his life and who would have thought that would have happened had Michael died years earlier…
Secondly, I LOVE Michael Jackson but he obviously didn’t care enough about his children to stop playing Russian Roulette with his life! Judging by the interviews given by the people closest to him, seems to me that he was FULLY aware of what could happen to him! And guess what, he continued to manipulate people to get his way and it ended up killing him!
People who put their children under those (drug induced) circumstances are usually confronted by CPS. Michael was lucky that he had a family that could take care of his children after his death but he should have never had children knowing his own drug problems

Michael was a wonderful and protective loving father to his kids and adored them with all he had. Some could only WISH they had a father as loving and attentive as MJ was to his kids. Not some unattentive, abusive, careless, too busy with their own lives to care or raise their children parents. To utter that he “obviously didn’t love his kids enough” is BS at it’s finest. People struggle with addictions and problems everyday. It DOES NOT mean they don’t love their kids, life or family.
