Great post BCK! Good going RJ, handsome and smart. The Peete’s should be proud. I love the ski pics. Skiing is such fun. I am a novice, have not been to the slopes enough.
Also, to the fellow bck posters on this thread who have shared a little piece of their life with autism and special needs, thanks for sharing.
I just want to say what a wonderful mom and dad RJ had to work with him, and never give up, look at the beautiful results, I believe never say never never give up trying.
WOW! He has come along way! Way to go! Congrats RJ!
Love the family and R.J. is truly exceptional.
The look cute. Winter and snow are fun.
*”They” look cute.
RJ’s speech was very nice. i’m glad to see that he is doing well. he may have autism, but it definitely doesn’t have him. i believe he can go on to do whatever it is that he wants to do in life. his family is so supportive of him.
That was beautiful!!!!!!
Love the Peete family and RJ gives me so much hope for my two boys who are both autistic.
I didn’t know that two kids in the same family could have autism. I don’t mean to sound ignorant but honestly, I didn’t know. I know that you have alot of difficult times. My five year old nephew is mildly autistic and we have some hard days but he is so bright, cute and sweet in so many ways, despite being autistic. I know your kids will make and turn out great! I just wish we knew the cause and researchers could find a cure for autism.
I think you are right, that alot more boys have autism than girls. I don’t know why. Holly believed that it comes from the vaccines that we vaccinate our kids with, but the truth is, we honestly don’t know the cause. My nephew is five and still can’t talk, so he screams in a very high pitch voice and it is so annoying and difficult at times. But we always remember that he is doing it out of fustration bc he can’t talk and communicate what he wants to say. If ppl would imagine what that was like, they too would wish a cure would exist. When we go to the stores, he screams and ppl think he isn’t home trained or he is spoiled but he is sweet and he is doing that only bc he wants to tell us something but can’t speak. I am praying that they find a cure one day soon.
However, I am glad celebs like(Holly, Tisha, Toni Braxton and Jenny McCarthy), all of whom kids are boys with autism (like you mentioned), bring attention to autism bc researchers, the general public and doctors seem to listen to them. I believe in order to find a cure, they must be able to find the cause first. One day, just one day-a cure will exist.
LaTanya, I have a special needs son & let me tell you, there is always hope. These children possess more than we give them credit for. They are awesome children. God blessed you with those boys because He knows that you can handle it & can raise those boys to be the way He intended. Mine is 15 & a joy. I have absolutely no complaints.
Thank you for your words of encouragement my boys are 7 & 8 and I consider them a true blessing. Some days are hard but their my babies and I love them! My husband and I work together to make sure that they have all the resources they need to grow mentally and physically which is all we pray for. May God continue to bless you and your son!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS FAMILY!!!! Holly and peete are the best parents in the world with the best kids in the world! That speech brought tears to my eyes. RJ is sooo bright. I am sure Dr. King would be proud of him today. I liked it how he thanked his grandma, so cute. He is getting tall and the family looks great.
The family looked like they had alot of fun skiing. They do alot of family activities together and are extremely close. This is how I want me family to be when I have kids and get married. Thanks to Holly for being such a wonderful role models to youngs girls and women.
RJ is so cute saying his speech. BTW I didn’t know black people went skiing…LOL JK
Blacks have been skiing for along time now. It is fun skiing. Here in the Midwest (Chicago), we can ski all year around and it is the Best. Skiing isn’t that expensive either, you can rent your attire and skiis or buy them at a reasonable price at sports store. When you can and other people as well, should try sjiing. I know yall would like it as much as we do!
apparently lol! seems to be more popular now. i know i’ve always wanted to go skiing. not the most affordable vacation, but one day
Lol! I know you’re kidding – it’s funny the amount of people though who regard it as just a white sport LOL. I don’t ski but I do snowboard…and people are always shocked to know that I do that lol. This pic is really cool.
